  14. I am reading the above comments and i am appalled at the mentality of Nigerians.

Dear Stella, let us address depression and mental health issues on this blog to educate Nigerians. From the comment above, you will find out there are many Nigerian women who are afraid to read wide and upgrade their knowledge. They are so satisfied with the little knowledge they have.

Let us discuss suicide on this blog and the causes. We like to pretend that Africans don't commit suicide but they do. Nigerians commit suicide but there are no data so people don't take it seriously. Let us identify the issues so we can reach out and help someone before they take that path.

There are two types of people who are suicidal
    a) The ones that are silently crying for help before they commit suicide(Those ones use every medium to cry out for help but people think it is attention seeking or people just ignore, they are just looking for who to tell them not to)
    b) The ones who really want to die(Those ones wake up one morning with no obvious sign and just commit suicide).

This is not a joke. I am not happy reading this.

He might be schizophrenic. ....I have seen a psychotic patient...who the voices in her head told her to jump into a river.....she was rescued at the bank of the river.....in simple answers...she was asked what is she doing by the river and her answer was a voice told her to go jump inside...she can't even swim....

His case may not be a straight case of suicide following depression

  18. why will people conclude He was a Scam artist when the only way he was identified was through the identity card found in the car. Thats all the police know, they do not know where he resided before his death and know nothing about him.

  19. Mental Illness.
Sad dis silent killer is widely diminished in Africa.Nigeria especially.I grew up with d mentality dat Naijas don't commit suicide.

But says who? I know better.but d taboo placed on depression nd mental illness makes it hard for d sufferers to get help.dey demselves more often than not don't even know wots wrong with dem. Dey are most likely to be told "oh u wil snap out of it.It's normal.tough situations dont last but tough people do...

    And d depression deepens....

May God help all of us.esp those undergoing very trying times.

    2. You made perfect sense hun. Your comment is just on point and easy to understand.

And you know some people don't have this mental disease but still cant comprehend easily?

Some even lash out angrily at others, could that type be self inflicted?

My heart goes out to the people out there suffering genuinely from depression. But for those that have taken it upon themselves to lose sleep on people's lives, it will lead to depression. Chai.
      Thank you.

    4. Sincerely speaking, anonymous 11:48, it's you that really need education on what she has commented about. The level of ignorance some of you display here is really alarming. Just like somebody said up there, Stella need to put up some write ups educating people on this blog regarding some issues ie "depression" and other concerns. Just because you can recite your ABC and read and write does not make you educated. And no I hv no idea who TGW is before you will think it's her dt went anon on you.

With all due respect James, it is not every topic that comes with petty remarks. There is a time for everything, as an adult , you should know that.

  26. Dear big sister Stella . Thi just made me to open up. I am a christian from childhood and a human too. My GP recommended me to see a psychiatrist. This psychiatrist rolled her eyes while I talked and told me she can't help me. As am not suicidal. Mind you when my Gp heard my journey she was like no doubt. You need help. Imagine all disappointment from fake, Men of God and psychiatrist that does not want to do their job.
Its painful that you ask for help and people hurt you while your down. You would think UK is regulated some people r evil.
A colleague recently told me to buzz off! After I couldn't help.
    God will avenge!
