Governor Yahaya Bello Welcomes Senator Adeyemi To APC And Urges Him To Be An Agent Of Unity‏

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has welcomed Senator Smart Adeyemi  to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

SENATOR SMART.

The former two-term Senator, dumped the People's Democratic Party for the APC. Adeyemi said he has decided to defect in the interest of his people and the nation. He also hailed the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kingsley Fanwo, the Governor welcomed the former Senator to the party, urging him to work with party leaders in the state to bring real change to the people.
The Governor said the PDP has been losing important leaders to the APC since 2014, urging others who are still in PDP but want the progress of the state to jump ship to the APC in order to move the state forward.

Governor Bello hailed Senator Adeyemi as an experienced politician, who will bring his wealth of experience to bear, insisting that the All Progressives Congress remains one big family in the state.

The Governor said he will continue to deliver democracy dividends to Kogi people to give his party a good platform to continue to dominate the political landscape of the Confluence State. He affirmed that the defection of political figures to the party across the state testifies to the renewed confidence of the people in the APC-led government in the state.

  1. All of thieving politicians defecting in the "interest" of their people should continue. Smart Adeyemi is a shameless individual, for eight good years, he did absolutely nothing for his senatorial district. Well I got news for him; Oga Ade, you have just started your journey into poltitcal irrelevance and long may shall it continue.

    1. Pls dont say what you dont know. In the history of kogi west, there has never been a senator like smart. In fact i make bold to say in the history of kogi.

Also...if you arnt involved in politics actively and i dont mean social media politics you will know its not even always just about the money. You have supporters, when things like employment, youth empowerment etc come to your zone, if you arnt in the ruling party then you are finished. Thats why even those that have money, they still have to be close to govt as long as our democracy is still at this stage.

driven solely by self interest and greed. this guy had over 20 jeeps parked in his house in Maitama, Abuja, when he was chair of the senate committee on the FCT. I guess he's missing those days of having loads of 'free money you didn't work for' and is now looking for free maintenance money upandan. ole!!!

Tomorrow now they will tell me he is 'cleaning up the mess left by PDP' simply because he changed his platform for grabbing national funds. (lets out a looooonnnggggg hisssssssssss!)
