Attention LUTH....Please Have A Heart!

Please help me pass this on to the Management of LUTH to free this baby to go home with his parents......They should please have a heart and probably sign a deal with them to effect this....
Please i am posting this as a plea.

Blog Visitor Report.

Paediatric ward LUTH
''Don't know what to say and who to blame but a baby of a year who had been discharged but parents are owing is 'detained' and unable to go home with the young mother. They eat at the mercy of other patients who don't eat hospital food. The boy yells most times whenever, the mother is out of sight and disturbs other patients, he crawls on the floor and walks about in the ward occasionally tugging at other patients oxygen and Drip tubes. His continual stay  is a risk to the discharged boy  and other patients. LUTH mgt, social services should take note''.

Baby of the year?He is so big now in hospital....Please Luth free this child,if they have been there so long must mean they really cannot afford it.I understand that the Hospital needs money to run but please count this as a loss and free them so that this child can have a normal life.

    2. What is the meaning of this rubbish?
This plea should be directed at his parents?
The mother should grow a heart and pay or work off her debt.
If she cared about this child, she would have done anything possible to free him n submit herself instead.
She should work for free till her bills are cleared.
If they didnt treat the boy you people will scream they are heartless, now they ve treated him you still think they have no heart?
Do you think the nurses enjoy watching over this boy?
Perharps they ve ease the mother the stress of taking care of him
If we had good foster system, the child should ve been taken there, he has no business being in a ward grabbing all kind of diseases.
The mother abandoned her son as far as am concerned.
I dont care how much the bill is, if they were asked to provide the money before treating the child or he dies wont they have gone extra mile to bring the money?
I would ve preferred you put this up as a plea for help, so that people can help them sort the bill.

    3. Ehennn, where is Caroline Ekanem? People should rather go and plead with her instead of the hospital.
When you have cases that will generate funds for the hospitals, it will be taken overseas but when you have this kind of pretentious patients, that's when people will start preaching forgive and forget, you know God will pay you back bla bla bla.
Well, LUTH is owned by the federal govt, so the accounts department of Min of finance will sign your forms before they release any patient.
This is why Most private hospitals won't even touch you until you deposit which in many cases might lead to death but the continuous avoiding of payments has lead to other innocent ones suffering. An average Nigerian is dubious, the mother will rather use that money and browse the internet than pay the hospital. I am very sure that the hospital has removed a large percentage for them, yet they will not even attempt at paying anything. Next thing now the woman will go en get another belle.

    5. Anuofia potable, why don't you foot the bills. You that have heart. It is people like you that harden the hearts of these hospital folks. Holy Nweje.

    6. Well said Candid Naija. Some Nigerians are dubious. I once had a case, the man was unconscious. I didnt demand any money initially. In fact, the relatives said doctor Pls do whatever you can to save their brother. My dear, I administered some IV Fluids and other drugs. Within, 4 hours the man regained consciousness. The nurses told them what their deposit was, they said they want to go that nothing was done for their brother imagine. These bad eggs have spoilt the place for the genuine truthful ones seriously..
They mother of this boy should pay her bills and leave the hospital or ask for help. Mtchew

    God will reward u people.
Or maybe d mum can work for d hospital, like cleaning and making beds in place of d money owned.
Let d baby go with d parents, then d parents can work for d money owned.

    1. How will God reward? When Nigerians will be online reigning abuses on unconfirmed reports.
How can the parents leave him, this is the normal strategy employed by dubious people, those people complaining will be watching, once they release this one, they will also do the same thing. If it is for burial now, money will come out.

    1. Y'all should let luth be.
These sorta things happen in tertiary hospitals on a daily.
Most of these parents do this purposely.they go 2d hospital and when done, they start begging.
Pls y'all shld answer this,if people beg and go scot free den how do u guys want d hospital to function properly.
Abeg the family shld go and source for fund and pay or better still a good samaritan over here should help d family out.
Are trying to tell me if the husband or family was told to bring some certain amount and own a house won't they run around 4it so y the nonchalant attitude when it comes to health

See d reason y hospitals ask for money b4 treating it's patients.
If they ask for money 1st,y'all term them heartless and now they decided to treat 1st bt d parents have refused to pay.

I can't begin to count how many times iv used my money to foot a patient bill...for how long are we doctors going to continue, not like we are being paid properly sef rather we are being owed

    2. How many times has forgiving and forgotten put fuel inside person generator? Yet when their generator goes off, people will come here and blame the same LUTH for. No Oxygen, AC and FAN.
      Endtime Patients. LMAO.

    3. @Elena...thanks..For this. .come to AKTH and see how these patients expect all services to be free..
It's almost mandatory we contribute to aid a patient with his or her bills?
Someone was saying social service....and I laughed ...how much tax has that person paid...to warrant services of a social worker...or they don't know such services run on money...?
And to the poster you saw this child did you rally round to get people to help donate to help him?
But you can scream luth should free him....
Nigerians..like sitting on their asses and expecting things to fall on their laps ..

    2. ...and what manner of parents does he have? the best thing is for social workers to take him pending when they pay up.
I have seen people beg for their children, if they don't have money, let them go and beg. How can a mother even sleep , wear cloth when her child is in the hosp. Yet,they will be wasting transport to and fro.

    3. This is why all government hospitals should be privatized and their budget go into a comprehensive health insurance scheme. Even mtn did something like dis a while back pay some money monthly for free health care. Hmmmm I can't sympathize with either the baby and his family or luth. So bye

  7. LUTH is one of the best hospitals available in Nigeria , however there are a lot of bad eggs/policies . Definitely there are corporate organizations that support LUTH ! There are people and charities that make donations ! Why should a boy be "detained" there just because his bills can't be paid ! That apart , the attitude of some of their staff is nothing but sad and pathetic , while I will say that the majority of the core medical staff are doing a great job , the same can not be said of the maids/attendants . Some of them are thieves ! They don't care about the patients they are paid to look after and they do the job like they are being forced to do it . A thorough investigation should be carried out and I assure you a lot will be revealed . LUTH is the hope of the common man for good medical services and the standard should remain high !

    2. Shut you stupid mouth! name the organisations and the amount they give LUTH. Where did the money and the drugs they used to treat him in the first place come from.
Now LUTH is the hope of common man, the other day I heard it is a death zone.
STFU and go rant about the 4bn removed from health budget.

  9. The baby should start earning a salary as a staff of LUTH Biko, please hospital management, we know how difficult it is to recover bad debts in your line of business but please show mercy and let that little boy go and experience life outside the hospital please. May God bless as you consider this little angel.

  10. I think the poster should be asking people to help raise some money to offset the bill. Hospitals don't run on paper,it is run with money. Assuming we have like 1000 people who cannot pay their bills and they were ask to go just like that, how then will the hospital be managed.
If we can squeeze out money for a healthy adult to eat with, then we can also donate to offset this little child's bill.
But then this should have been our government's job, giving free medical care.God help Nigeria.

  11. So far so good, this is the third call out to LUTH. LUTH charged as high as 20k for medical report of a corps member that was admitted for almost 9 weeks in their female surgical ward. After much HAGGLING of price reduction, they came down to 10k, meanwhile, the unhappy corps member's father already sent an article to Guardian news paper dated 10th March 2016.Even after making the 10k payment, LUTH showed the corps member's aunt the medical report and refused to release it on the basis that the corps member tell Guardian to put down the call out before the report can be released. So right now, LUTH is owing the corps member 10k and a medical report. LUTH and its entire staff are fraudulent because we were made to understand that the consultant has 50% of the medical report fee while LUTH has the remaining 50%.

    1. This post is not about your medical report. This is about a child that was treated and the parents refused to pay. What is fraudulent about that?

I am sure that in your desperate bid for medical report to get posted to where you want you decided to Obtain medical report from the back door.
Wait until the case goes to court, that's when you will realise that it is a crime to obtain medical report from cleaners and get them forge a consultants signature.

Is it today that people started getting fake medical reports? Authentic medical report takes time for the whole evaluation to be made. Go back and collect your money from the 419people you paid.

  14. I am sure this is one of the LUTH workers in an anonymous mode. I am yet to see a mother that has the money for her child's medical bill and refuse to pay. Apart from you being heartless, you are also wicked. it's people like you that run from blog to blog searching for freebies. We know your type. Pray fervently that what happened to the corps member should not happen to you or any of your family members.
And for the records, the case is already on its way to court. so you can inform your CMD, PRO or the consultant in charge.

    1. LMAO! Na who go court first dey win the case? If the case is already in court then STFU! STFU and get your money ready to pay for damages ewu gambia. Why you no go abroad for treatment? Poor people always making noise.
