This happened to my friends yesterday, 10th of April at the Abuja Airport and we will like to call out the pilot of the 11am Arik Air flight from Abuja to Lagos yesterday.
My friends were scheduled to be on the 11am flight on Arik Air, they arrived the airport on time and checked in. On getting to the boarding area, passengers identified their luggage and boarded the plane including one of my friends,while my other two friends were waiting to identify their luggage with some other passengers, the plane door was shut on them.
The staff were trying to talk to the pilot but he ignored and the plane finally took off without them,leaving them and other passengers on the tarmac with no reasonable explanation as to why the doors were shut.
My friend who boarded the flight said he asked to alight from the plane if the door wasn't opened for the other two and other passengers and the flight attendant said she was only obeying the captain's order.
I have attached some pictures which one of my friends took and sent to me.
After they complained and ranted, their cut out boarding passes were returned to them. Arik delayed them for over 4 hours, before finally putting them on another flight which brought them to Lagos and they arrived around 5pm.
Please we would like call out the pilot for an explanation to why the door was shut leaving passengers on the tarmac''.
Arik has a right of reply to this complaint.
Aril had better be de- licensed, their services are nothing to write home about...wonder why our aviation ministry is keeping mute on serious issues like this...this naija sef, what is working well???

ReplyDeleteUr friends should even be grateful to God they still put them in another plane d same day. I have heard of those that were delayed for 2 days.
I was delayed and still paid to reschedule. Truth is, I was busy reading SDK and didn't hrarhear when they called my flight. I was late and they took off without myself and other passengers. It's normal, this post is not sincere

It was like movie magic.... I was about climbing the stairs when dey told us to come and confirm our bags b4 going in that we shouldn't go without our bags. We confirmed and turned to enter the plane and the animal of a pilot as shot the door. As u see in one the pictures the baggage controllers were talking to him to open the door. Yet he refused , we stood dere for more than 30mins Talking to him from the cockpit window....B4 the plane moved
DeleteArik air from owerri to lagos on saturday landed in cotonou, I wonder how they are able to block it from getting news coverage. The tyres of of the plane refused come out when it was time for landing. A member of my church was one of the passengers aboard and he came for thanksgiving that was how we even heard.

DeleteI have had this experience with Arik.I was flying to Owerri that morning, back in Nov 2010, we were told to wait for our luggage to be loaded on to the aircraft, we were all standing beside the aircraft, waiting, when the Arik pilot just locked the doors of the aircraft and flew away. We were so shocked and dumbfounded. We ended up flying later that evening but it was a lot of inconvenience.
