Ambode Visits Aso Rock And Commends Buhari For Having Good Plans For Nigeria

Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Friday, paid a visit to President Muhammadu Buhari at the State House, Abuja, where he lauded the President’s recent overseas trips aimed at attracting foreign direct investments into the country.

Governor Ambode who spoke to State House Correspondents shortly after the visit expressed high optimism that the President’s trips would in no short time begin to yield benefits in the interest of all Nigerians.

The Governor specifically commended President Buhari for his purposeful leadership to restore the nation’s place in the comity of nations, saying his recent trip to China and the profitable discussions will go a long way to move Nigeria forward, including Lagos.

He said the investment pact he recently signed with the Chinese Government will benefit the people of Lagos, especially with the coming of the Lagos-Kano Rail Project and the Lagos Metro-rail project expected to cost about $2.5billion.

He said the visit was therefore to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his laudable plans for Nigeria and especially Lagos State.

  4. Wait o,is it just me or other people thinking about this too? Why is there so much emphasis on these rail projects? Lagos to Calabar, now Lagos to Kano. Are railway lines our pressing problems now or have people been experiencing difficulties in getting to these areas of the country? What are these railways going to be powered with?coal or electricity?if it going to be powered by electricity, where are we getting it from? If by coal, then that is going to be laughable at this day and age.

Why can't Buhari and his advisers see that we need power and petroleum products more than these projects for now. What's the value of a million dollars given to a man dying of thirst in the desert?we need to build at least6 power plants around the country.increase power generation for now and stop these meaningless projects all because you want to meet the requirements to access the Chinese loan.why he didn't go there to sign agreements to build refineries and power generating plants still beats me.
