Police rescue abducted Babington schoolgirls

The three abducted schoolgirls of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary School, Ikorodu, Lagos, have been rescued by the police hale and hearty.

It was gathered that the pupils were rescued in an overnight operation by the police while some of the kidnappers were arrested.

The Lagos State Police spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the rescue and arrests to our correspondent.

“Yes, the girls have been rescued safely by the police in an overnight operation. We also made some arrests,” she said.

The PPRO promised to get back to our correspondent with details of the operation.

The pupils, while studying in a classroom on Monday evening, were seized by gunmen numbering 15 and escaped through the school fence‎.

  2. I'd take this news with a pinch of salt.
All of a sudden they've been rescued.
Thought it was written by a said newspaper how they'v got concrete information dt d girls have been taken to an unknown location.
Till d parents of the said kids come out and tell us they've been united with their kid...other than that we all know our policemen can lie for africa

  4. Foolish School. I expected to see a statement from the school on this, none. If I were a parent, I would remove my child immediately. If you cannot ensure a child's security despite repeated warnings from the PTA, might as well send the children to schools that take security seriously.

So the Nigerian police car n rescue anybody?
Same police that cannot find their way out of a nylon bag? Praise Jah!
    Change is here.

  10. Overnight rescue and yet there's no news of any of the abductors being caught in this "overnight rescue". Rescue or the parents paid the ransom and in turn the abductors told the police where to look?

    1. Hmmm..u may be right. But they may not reveal that anything was paid so that other kidnappers won't be encouraged that they'll get paid. Left for the police no monies would be paid, but for the pressure from parents who do not want to take any chances by relying solely on the intelligence and tactics of the police. Bet you'd agree if in their shoes.. who wsn make dem use her child perform experiment?
