Good morning Stella,
Following the Senate statement for electricity distribution companies to hold the increment of tariff, PHED has gone ahead to increase the tariff for R2 from #15.9 to #24.9. Find attached an evidence.

I cant even remember the last time i paid for electricity abi nepa bill. If them like make them increase am to 1 billion naira. They are all thieves. Imagine bringing bills to my neigbour, when one has never seen light for the past weeks. Since 2yrs plus i cant even remember when we paid for nepa bills last. Since the next building to ours and her tenants doesnt pay bills because she works in PHCN, so why do i have to pay. Mbanu. Nigeria is so corrupt even me too. Kapish!!! Nam sense!!!
ReplyDeleteSo true, the senate as usual spoke through two sides of the mouth, a country where our leaders and institutions say on thing and mean another. The can't tell us they are oblivious of the increment
ReplyDeleteThe light up Nigeria platform is really working swiftly mehnnn, just loaded my NEPA metre from the comfort of my bed this morning, I had to run a trial test loading only N2,500. I was sent my metre token number asap. Buh the PHED tarrif has actually increased. Senate should do something about it.

DeleteSince february 1st we've been buying with the higher tariff.
Everything in Nigeria has increased oooooo! even the voice that usually says "to copy this tune press one" when you dial a Nigerian number has now changed to "to copy this tune press eleven".
ReplyDeleteWhoever is behind this moniker is a crazy person
DeleteLmao

DeleteWetin do one wey come increase go eleven?

Oh ma dayz, i also noticed d press eleven and i was like, has it changed from 1? Now i know d reason

ReplyDeleteIt has been increased now. Afterall i am paying higher tariff
ReplyDeleteSince naa... i noticed mine in January this year and im in Benin. BEDC and all distribution companies are thieves!
ReplyDeleteIt started February 1,am in Benin
DeleteIt will come down, its as a result of dollar rise##
ReplyDeleteChai
ReplyDeleteEnd time masquerading nepa wizards don start der madness
Hon minister fashionista ur attention is needed.
Abuja Electricity distribution company increased theirs too, despite Senate's order and the order from the court.
ReplyDeleteAll disco in nigeria increased.
DeleteEKEDC started the new tarrif since february 1st. When I bought Feb 2nd I was given 53units free
The bill is something else, got a bill of 40k650 for one month. Planning on going to their office later today. I mean it's outrageous and it's not as if u see the stupid light sef.
ReplyDeleteWarris is this, I don't understand either
ReplyDeleteIt's true, I bought yesterday and to my surprise saw that the tariff has been increased. Will send evidence if you need it Stella.
ReplyDeleteWell light seems to have improved, a bit. But this increase is rather too high for light that does not last up 20 hours a day.
ReplyDeleteSmh for naija
ReplyDeleteThis country is doomed
DeletePortable, YOU are doomed
DeleteNo, its not! We are not doomed. God forbid. Pls stop cursing this country because you don't like the President.
DeleteAbuja has increased theirs since sef .
ReplyDeletePHED is fraud. They no longer use meter readings. All they dish out now is ESTIMATED bills. You see even face me I face you buildings getting tens of thousands of Naira electricity bills monthly. Where can we report them?
ReplyDeleteIkeja Electric have been doing that, if we had a working judicial system them you can sue. But reporting to even the regulatory body is a waste of time.
DeleteYes oooo
ReplyDeleteIt has increased
The light is even worse now, why the increase now?
ReplyDeleteI can't complain Cos we have 18-22 hours uninterrupted light here in enugu transekulu*(not exaggerating)
ReplyDeletei use prepaid meter, but i can surely say the tariff has increased, usually i use 5k in a month with ACs' washing machine everyday and co, the one i bought in February (26th) finished to the last before 15th march which is very unusal, i bought another 5k only to load it and see less than 200units of power add to buy another 5k yesterday before i got 396units of power which is what i use to have before for the 5k. Nigeria, which way forward?
ReplyDeleteIN MY STREET WHERE I LIVE OLORUNFUMI OWOROSHOKI I HAVE NOT SEEN LIGHT FOR THE PAST 3 WEEKS, REASON BEEN THEY ARE REPAIRING OUR ROAD, I BOUT FUEL 100/LITRE ON SUNDAY WHILE RETURNING BACK FROM CHURCH, FOR THE MY GENERATOR SUFFERING IS TOO MUCH, I WISH I SHOULD JUST SLEEP AND AND WAKE UP IN CANADA OR AUSTRALIA. BUHARI LIKE YOUR NAME IMPLIES INDEED YOUR GOVERNMENT HAS REALLY TURN EVERYTHING UPSIDE DOWN. IS THIS CHAIN OR REALLY CHANGE?
ReplyDeleteYour electricity tariff is not determined by the distribution companies. It is NERC (fed govt) that does it. The senate asked NERC to hold the increment but they refused and said no going back. It's no fault of the distribution companies. Blame it on NERC
ReplyDeleteStella, you and the subtle way you rub your "privileged" life on BV's face ehn! Can't remember when last you complained about light bill? Its either that or you're making coded allusions to your EU citizenship! Na wah for you
ReplyDeleteI can't complain cos I'm on estimated bill and for an area where power is relatively steady my bill never exceed 4k. I know we consume much more than that so I'm not even looking forward to d smart card meter. Oshee! Ikeja Electric
ReplyDeleteThis is illegal , criminal and exploitative. Given that there is a federal high court judgment restraining the increase . this judgment has not been appealed successfully by NERc or electric distributors.... It is our place to resist this illegal charge... Stand up for your rights....
