Inmates at the Kuje prison Abuja, are in shock that the ex-minister of Interior, Abba Moro is now one of them.
Many of them were excited and curious to know what led to his detention.
According to The Nation, the inmates were amazed to see Moro in prison custody barely one year after he visited the facility as the interior minister.
Justice Anwuli Chikere of the Federal High Court, Abuja on Monday remanded the former minister in prison custody over his alleged complicity in a N676million job scam.
A source said the former minister was brought to the prison around 12 pm on Monday and made to undergo the standard procedures for inmates.
The Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS), Public Relations Officer (PRO), Francis Enobore, said an inmate was free to feed himself, adding that it is standard practice to allow inmates to provide their food themselves.

DeleteThey shouldn't be, many more will soon join, it's just that their stay is often short since they can bail themselves out in no time. When Obasanjo was hammering on prisons reforms they didn't take it seriously because they never knew they will be inmates at one time but see reality of life, they are all tasting the experience one after the other. Our law makers should consider this reforms issue now more than ever since corruption has been institutionalized so that when it's their turn which certainly will be, their stay will be less traumatic than it is now.
