Gov Oshiomole Claps Back At Dino Melaye's Shading Concerning Paying Bride Price In Forex

Adams Oshiomhole, governor of Edo state, has criticised Dino Melaye for being so “hollow” as to delve into his matrimonial life despite failing to keep one of his own.

While making his contribution on Wednesday to the debate on a motion regarding the need for Nigerians to patronise made-in-Nigeria goods, Melaye had said: “I want to celebrate the made-in-Nigeria senator for bringing this motion. In considering the made-in-Nigeria goods, we must look at enabling factors that will necessitate the made in Nigeria goods.
“It’s beyond having one made-in-Nigeria attire and you have over 70 Tom Fords and Louis Vuitton in your wardrobe. We must reduce the allocation for made-in-Nigeria goods and services to the basics. “What are those factors militating against the production of these goods? We must tackle them. We must also begin to look at our legislation then we will begin to talk about made-in-Nigeria goods.
We will also move in order to encourage the made-in-Nigeria products in Nigeria, begin to talk about made-in-Nigeria women. Apologies to my uncle, the governor of Edo state, we must, as a people, stop paying dowry in dollars and pounds.  It is time for my colleagues here to become born again.”

Displeased with the comments, Oshimohole replied on Friday, saying Melaye “only displayed his hollowness” by delving into a matter as private as his marriage to his heartthrob.

OSHIOMOLE AND HIS HEARTHROB LARA

“Our attention has been drawn to the unprovoked verbal assault launched by one Senator Dino Melaye on the Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, while making a contribution on the floor of the Senate on the need to patronize made-in-Nigeria goods,” Oshiomhole said in a statement by Peter Okhiria, his chief press secretary.

“As a ‘nephew’ of the Governor and members of the same party, we expected Senator Melaye to tender an unreserved public apology to the Comrade Governor, to no avail. “It is an open secret that Senator Melaye cannot maintain a decent matrimonial home hence he could descend to this pedestrian level of using the hallowed chambers to ‘cargorise’ women as if they were pieces of items for purchase. Any responsible individual that is truly worth to be called a Senator, a position that convokes respect, decorum and decent public conduct, should know the limits of his verbal diarrhoea.

“The liberty of free speech guaranteed in the hallowed chambers does not impose lunacy on anyone to disparage other Nigerians, let alone pry into their matrimony in a very derisive manner. We had intended to ignore this uncomplimentary comment as one of the several empty displays of the Senator, but the fact that it tends to reduce women to pieces of tissue calls for this response. “As we probed into Dino Melaye’s humanity, we were reminded that he is a man known for his vainglorious rodomontade and the childish display of his ostentatious lifestyle complements his love for foreign items.

Many of such eurocentric mentality he has persistently displayed on social media, to underscore his materialistic eccentricity, hence his dialectical opposition to made-in-Nigeria goods. “But an attempt at making women wear the garb of goods to be picked off the shelves was to take the issue to a ridiculous and irresponsible level. By delving into the private affair and marriage of the Comrade Governor, Senator Melaye has exposed himself as a simpleton and a court jester whose words and tactlessness cannot be taken seriously by matured people. “We advise that Melaye should mend his ways with his ex-wife and concubines before coming to the village square to display his crass ignorance and emptiness to the Nigerian people.

WHICH ONE IS OSHIOMOLE REFERRING TO?

“If he has anything to offer, Dino Melaye should concentrate on making good laws for the people of Nigeria rather than descend to a ridiculous level, thus displaying to the whole world his unworthiness to sit in the hallowed chambers of the Nigerian Senate.”

    2. See correct response from Oshiomole. Now this is epic. Trust be told Dino crossed the line. I mean, what has his marriage or whom he chose to marry got to do with the pressing issues open for debate in the chamber??

That was not only distasteful but was absolutely condescending to Lara. Oshio's wife. He literally means that she was imported just like a commodity. In fact Dino owes her his unreserved apology, along with the one he should tender her husband.

People do not know when to draw the line. To think that he's found wanting in the marriage department and he had the audacity to amplify what will remind people of his own marital shenanigans. This response should humble him. Next time you'll bridle your tongue.

  7. Even the made in Nigeria Senator isn't fully made in Nigeria, So what's all the fuss about.
why are they are throwing shades at each other upandan.

The concept of buying made in nigeria goods is actually nice, but it will take a little time to settle in, thus there's absolutely no need whatsoever to be in hurry.

    1. If we had to dissect the whole concept or dynamics of promoting made in Nigeria items, we have to first of all tackle the fundamentals because in the end, we may start to use made in Nigeria items alright, but will not be the actual beneficiaries of the proceeds from items sold.

As it is our collective aim to boost our economy, but that purpose may be defeated if certain stringent actions aren't implemented within the consumer/production act

First of all, they have to stop the Asians who come into Nigeria to mass produce our local contents to resell to us, while they take the proceeds out to their own country to boost their economy.

For example, market women are complaining bitterly that the Chinese are mass producing their Geles (headties) within Nigeria, that they've flooded the market and now sell cheaper than theirs. Now the problem here is that most of these gele customers will go for the Chinese products becos Itz at a cheaper price. Who wouldn't? Hence they leave the originators who are the local market women in deficit.
These Asians are taking over our market swiftly, even Ankara that we are known for, they now print them and sell back to us in our own country o.

What they do is to study what is popular in the market, they have stopped importing them and are now mass producing here. Making monies that is meant for Nigerians, that should remain in Nigeria, and monies that should be circulated within to revive the economy to be taken away.

So u see, unless these Asian cohorts are disengaged totally from our market, we may not achieve the boost in the sales of our local contents. And the monies made from them will definitely not be ours. Talk about boosting another person's economy from Nigeria.

Look at all the supermarkets owned by the Indians and Lebanese, with the substandard goods they display on their shelves. We still rush there to buy, me inclusive.. we glorify then when even in their own country they are rejects. It's sad that the average Nigerian will marvel at any light skinned so called foreigner, to them everyone na oyinbo. They see how we revere them and they play on that.

Oh, let me end my rant with another classic example. As anyone seen some drivers when they drive their Asian bosses around town? The way they are so unruly and will not allow u the right of way just because they are carrying one Indian at the back seat? Chai.. I always cuss the hell out of the rude ones. It annoys me. They could slap anyone who tries to 'chance' them whilst they are driving their oyinbo oga. So tell me, would such a person not feel privileged in his mind, to go for their substandard goods as opposed to a Nigerian made and owned product? Abeg I tire.

      OK bye

  9. The cars Dino is driving are they made in Nigeria? Talk is cheap. He should first return the cars and reinvest the money in buying Innoson Motors that's when he will have the moral right to talk.
As for he insulting Osho Baba he should take several sits. Brother Dino...What happened to all your made in Nigeria wives?

  14. He's definitely referring to the dark-skinned one on the left,Tokunbo née Fabiyi, my old school mate from University of Ilorin. That was the first wife before he beat her to pulp& she had to run for dear life. Tokunbo was a very quiet and unassuming young lady. But Dino was the wild animal. He has since had other concubines...

    1. And the new wife Alero has quietly eloped too. After she received her own portion of abuse, the shame didn't allow her speak up. Trust that Nigerians would have finished her, not after the role she played during Tokunbo's ish with Dino. Forming Cinderella has come to rescue prince charming. Now the story has changed and she dares not say pim..lol.
