The Federal Government has announced automatic employment at the Federal Ministry of Justice for Aaron, the eldest son of the late Minister of State for Labour, Mr James Ocholi (SAN), as part of efforts to support the children he left behind.
LATE JAMES OCHOLI |
The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, revealed this to the Ocholi family when he paid a visit to his Kado Estate residence at about 3:00pm on Tuesday, to convey his and President Muhammadu Buhari’s condolence message.
He also disclosed that Aaron’s other siblings would enjoy scholarships for their educational pursuits, courtesy of the Federal Government who has pledged to cushion the effect of the loss of their parents.
Malami added that the Senior Advocate was a very critical part of the change effort of the Federal Government.
He said that President Buhari personally mandated him to inform the family of the late Minister that his administration would do all within its power to ensure he is not missed.
Mr Malami consoled them that death was a necessary end that was bound to happen, adding that God in his infinite mercy had a reason for allowing them to depart the way they did.
James Ocholli and his wife and younger son were involved in a fatal car crash on Sunday evening of March 6,2016.
Good news
ReplyDeleteNa their way naaa.
DeleteThey should not eliminate him ooooooh
My heart still aches
DeleteRIP the Ocholi's
How magnanimous of the federal government. Sad.
DeleteHmmmmm....
ReplyDeleteI just hope the boy is safe with this development.
I still don't believe that the driver killed his boss. I received pictures from an eye witness from the scene of the incident. The driver was lying unconscious with the man's son. I also heard that the tire busted and the driver applied the brake probably out of panic or something. The angle the brother of the deceased Is taking the matter is that the non Igalas are responsible for the death of the brother. The son is safe. Death by car crash is something unforeseen.
DeleteGood to hear...
ReplyDeleteNice one

This is very nice
ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
That's great...I wish them well
ReplyDeleteI don't mean to sound insensitive but is this how kids of ppl that lost their parents to accident are also treated???
ReplyDeleteAll ur insults back atyew, even d ones u are only thinking
For the first time, I agree with you, you mirrored my thoughts.
DeleteHow many people who loose their parents in such accidents get any kind of compensation?
Didn't the late minister steal (na their way, let no one tell me rubbish) enough to make his family comfortable after death?
The cycle continues......after his son, his grandson takes over.
SHARONNA
I am with you on this. What about the countless number of children who have been made orphans as a result of bad roads and government neglect of facilities. Imagine giving job and scholarship to children whose parents probably left millions and properties for. While there are many children out there who don't even know where their next meal will come from, rubbish! #fixthebadroads
DeleteAll na part of the change, so many widow and orphans who lost their bread winners in north east are suffering. The circle continues, the rich getting richer and the poorer saying: shey na so we go dey dey?????

I was thinking same.
DeleteIf your family's name isn't known, nothing for you in this country.
RIP to the dead o
But this is rubbish mehn..
Ah! Thank God!
ReplyDeleteI kept thinking how dese youngsters will cope....
Be strong dears.God got u.ok?
Well, this is good news.
ReplyDeleteCould this be some form of compensation? Some people keep insisting that he was assassinated.
ReplyDeleteIs the FG trying to bribe the family bcos just 2 days ago . They were insisting on a probe of the mystery surrounding his untimely death. Particularly why the security details hit his car from behind. after they radioed his driver dat his rear tire was down.
Bribe how? Isn't it normal that your employer be made responsible for u if anything happens to u on the job? There are so many private entities who have something in place for their staff or family members, should they die on the job or are incapacitated whilst in service. So would that also mean "bribe" when they swing to their responsibilities by providing necessary funds or scholarship in these scenarios? Na wa o
DeleteSay u have a driver and he dies while u send him on an errand.. who should take care of his family? You or the federal government?
To those saying that why isn't the government doing same for every other family that lose their bread winner. Do those people not have employers? And if not, how many people will the government who isn't their direct employer cater for? Do u guys know how many people die per hour? So everyone is to be recognised and given scholarship ehn? Waoo
D boy should choose NNPC or Nlng
ReplyDeleteGood one.
ReplyDeleteWhile those bokoharam destroyed their lives and families are still in the camp dealing with hunger. I wonder how many of them that are on Scholarship.
ReplyDeleteArrant nonsense.
Thank u. There is no need for me to waste my comments
DeleteMy Sister...
DeleteGod bless you for your comment. Stupid lots
DeleteYou used to be a sweet lady, I noticed that something changed in you for quite sometime now. How many of the BH victims were in active service to the country when they died? Please all you can do is to applaud this effort while recommending rehabilitation for BH victims, this comment is offensive and directly detrimental to the Ocholis amidst their loSs.
DeleteIn this world, their is heirachy, class and it is everywhere. Even in the Animal kingdom... all animals are equal BUT some are more equal...It is life, there can never be equality.
The military have a package for themselves and members of their family should they die on the job. They get a lifetime allowance. Unless you are dismissed from service. Ask any military man you know. It's a different thing if there's delay in payment or if they think it isn't sufficient. But they get something.
DeleteAnon 14:38,You say,he was in active service? Do you know the number of military men who have lost their lives in service to Nigeria? How many of their kids have been given automatic employment and scholarships? Not taking anything away from the ocholi's, but all Nigerians deserve the same treatment.
Deleteand the drivers wife and children????
ReplyDeleteWhere do I send ur kiss
DeleteMy thought exactly.
DeleteI tire o...Bollocks
DeleteHypocrites
Good question.
DeleteAre you all blinded this much. Na you marry wife and born pikin give the driver?
DeleteTried but can't fill the vacuum created by the loss of their parents.
ReplyDeleteTo God be d be d glory, continue to rest in d Lord sir, ma & bro
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Glad they are doing something to help. I hope it's not just propaganda.
ReplyDeleteIf this could be done for most orphans, unemployment would have reduced but eitherway, Good job, Nigeria! and RIP to the dead
Good to hear

ReplyDeleteWHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HAVE A TYRE BLOWOUT
In the event of the unfortunate death of Nigeria's Minister of State for Labour due to an accident occasioned by a tyre blowout and the fact that in Nigeria now-a-days, we have many untrained drivers, it has become pertinent for me to write this.
There are 6 simple steps to take within a maximum of 2 minutes and you will be safe, these by the grace of God I have been familiar with for decades. They are as follows:
(1) DON'T PANIC in the event of a blowout, calm yourself down fast because your car will start misbehaving and you need to take charge.
(2) Hold FIRMLY to your steering wheel with both hand, NO VIGOROUS TURNING, as you concentrate on the road and your mirrors, in seconds study the movement pattern of the car. Your car will naturally swerve to the direction of the burst tyre.
(3) Gradually take off your foot from the accelerator, DON'T EVER ATTEMPT TO PRESS THE BRAKES, IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE A 95% CHANCE OF A SOMERSAULT. The car will decelerate gradually while you concentrate on the road to avoid collision with any other road user.
(4) Disengage the gears of the car by shifting to neutral as you still maintain a firm grip on the steering wheel and put your eyes on the road.
(5) After a while depending on your initial speed, your car comes to a speed less than 60km/h when it is now safe to GRADUALLY apply the brakes and navigate to the side walk
(6) Ultimately, it is now safe to put the car to a complete stop and turn off the engine. You have just saved yourself and passengers from untimely death.
NOTE:
Of course, everyone in the car will be in a panic mode BUT this is NOT THE TIME TO LISTEN TO THEM, it is TIME TO CONCENTRATE.
Please, don't just read share on your page and copy to other platforms, you may just be about to save a life.
I pray thàt God will continue to keep us safe as we use the roads, amen.
Thank you for this. It will go a long way in helping others.
DeleteMtwcchhww then the drivers wife and children what is the federal government doing for them. What kind of compensation is this, can that man's children ever be destitute. He was a SAN for goodness sake and died as a minister RIP. Do they need this, they have it all. What about the poor nigerians that have lost thier homes and families to boko haram what has been done for them. Or is this like a guilty conscience compensation. This new president I hope you are really here to make Nigerian better bcos Hmmmm. The rich gets richer the poor gets screwed
ReplyDeleteYou are screwed already. Let that screw penetrate your ass, damage all your internal organs and exit from your eyes (causing permanent blindness).
DeleteMay u and ur generations die by the wickedness you mete u stupid anon 14:41 y didn't u put ur name let's kill u here idiot goat dey r talking serious tin u are showing how ur parents didn't train u fool
DeleteAnon u are a great fool die already wat do u know about life y didn't u put up ur name bastard
DeleteEka joy am with you on this abeg, partiality everywhere mtcheeeeeeeeeeeeeew. What of the drivers wife and pikin dem? Even other victims of road accidents? Abeg shift mr president. Zis is not gooz at oll.
ReplyDeleteIf only the same can be done to the families of our Nigerian soldiers who lost their lives fighting to keep our Nation at peace...
ReplyDeleteIt's Well. Poor Man has no Name. May God help the common Man
ReplyDeletelet me go anonymous on this one...
ReplyDeleteAnybody that knows that young man should advise him NOT to accept the offer of employment with the Federal Ministry of Justice o! I work with the ministry and I can categorically tell you that the salary is NOTHING to write home about. As a fresh graduate lawyer, he will be employed on Grade level 9 and his salary with all the allowances put together will be SIXTY THOUSAND NAIRA per month!Yes you heard me right...N60,000.Thats what he will be expected to live on for 30 days.
If the federal government really wants to help him, they can offer him employment with NNPC, EFCC,ICPC, NIMASA, FIRC, DSS, or at the very least Ministry of Foreign Affairs cos those are the agencies enjoying fat remunerations, but for them to offer that poor boy employment in ministry of Justice reeks of mischief and insincerity when they know they can do much better.
