Ese 14-year-old Teenager Abducted To Kano For Forceful Marriage Has Been Released

The pathetic story of how 14-year-old Ese Oruru, who was in August 2015, allegedly abducted in Opolo, Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, by one Yunusa, who hails from Kano, elicited outrage on social media in the last couple of days causing the release of the teenager.

Ese according to reports was 13 as at the time of her alleged abduction, and was taken to Kano, by Yunusa, where he converted her to Islam and married her.Ese’s parents had since last August made trips to Kano, where they unraveled the plights of their daughter.

While her mother was told that Ese had converted to Islam and, therefore, was no longer her daughter, her father was told that his daughter was an 18-year-old adult and not 14, hence she was capable of making decisions for herself.
However, Nigerians on Sunday took to the social media to launch a campaign #FreeEse, calling for the immediate release of the Urhobo-born teenager, whose mother, Mrs. Rose Oruru, is a food vendor in Opolo, Bayelsa State.

Barely 24 hours after the inauguration of #FreeEse campaign, the teenager was yesterday released from Kano State where she had been taken to by her paedophile captor, Yunusa, after the intervention of The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

The minor was released to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police,Zone 1, Kano, Shuaibu Gambo, by the Kano Emirate Council and will soon be reunited with her family.

Social Media rocks!

    3. One thing is for the foolish girl to come back, another is for her to remain. @ 13 abi 14 she already knows prick and calling the hegoat horseband. @ this age shouldn't she be concerned about making something about her life, going to sch and all. Tomorrow now she will be begging to feed. She thinks marriage is a child's play. She needs to be flogged and locked indoors otherwise she will run back to the idiot of a hegoat. Parent educate your children early. Lack of proper parenting was what caused this madness.

  7. What is it with Fulani/Hausa men with underage girls?
This girl was taken away from far way Bayelsa to Kano and the emir knew about it

    The abductor should be arrested
Even the emir too is culpable cos the girl was right in his palace

They've hypnotized her like they did the Chibok girls and now she's claiming to be 17

How can she be 17 when her older brother is 16?

  8. How can you kidnap someone daughter, concert her to Islam and marry her??

    Is that even right??
You marry q child without the consent of her parent and then refuse to give the child back to the parent??

What does a 14yrs old know for crying out loud?? Even jf she agreed to follow you because of love, couldn't you have slapped her so sense can be restored??

    I don't understand something sometimes

  10. Tho she's been released, what about the damage that might have been done already. Her innocence stolen, the trauma and stigma. There should be a law against paedophiles, maybe castrating them or something

    1. They have released the girl to a police inspector or so but they aren't ready to give the girl back to her parent

They even went as far as getting a Hausa girl to do an audio interview claiming it's the bayelsa girl..

The girl in the audio had strong Hausa accent which the girl from bayelsa wouldn't have picked up in 8 months

Now thru are also lying to the media that the girl is 18yrs old and can concert to marriage without her parents but the girls elder brother had giving an interview saying he is 16 yrs old, so there is no how his younger sister would be 18yrs old. As there eldest sister is

      This story is annoying me
Return the girl to her family paedophiles
      She's 14 and knows nothing

    2. @fab mum,I am telling u very annoying story that is where the Nigeria law had failed us.
No proper developed country would allow this the dude need to be in court by now for abducting the girl without her parents knowing.
I remember one story I watched on investigation discovery where a Nigeria girl went missing and fled to Mexico with the lover after being brainwashed.
After so many years of searching she decided to come back home with the lover just right at the airport where her parents were waiting to receive her they took the dude into police custody ASAP.

So what are they telling us here?
And to think they they took her to the station and refused the mother from seeing her child.

  24. They should better take that girl for deliverance as soon as she reunite with her family because they must have given her their quranic black water. That water is what makes the girl not want to go back to her family and will want to be a Muslim by force. I know of so many ladies and teenagers it happened to in the north. Once they convert, they give them money. The emir marries them off immediately. The emir stands like a father to the girls. The girls are not always released to their parents. These girls bluntly reject their parents. So many lives has been ruined with this 'I was Ngozi, but I am Aisha now. I am Sade, but my name is Fatima now'. I remember my security clement who all of a sudden said we should stop calling him clement but Abubakar. We not it was a joke not until we saw him going to the mosque. It's always sweet in the beginning but when the pains and the suffering starts, these so called people who converted them are always no where to be found to share in their convert pains and sufferings. Clement relocated back to the south when he could no longer cope and he was afraid he would be killed if he start going back to church. So many people like that who ran away from the north because they were afraid of being killed if they return back to their previous religion.
I am happy for this young girl. She really doesn't know what she is doing. The water given to her is at work. I'm glad she will be released to her parents. Many parents were not lucky to have their kids back from the so called emirs or Emirates where new converts are handed to. Thank God for the power of social media. Social media rocks. *a long hiss to those who tried to steal another man child in the name of religion mtchewwwww

    1. They are even twisting the story
They don't want to return her
I just listened to an audio conversation which a supposed police officer interrogated her and the voice was not of a southerner. The girl in that audio had strong Hausa accent. And she kept saying she wants to keep been a Muslim and doesn't want to go home. But that voice is an Hausa girl bit a southerner won't pick up strong Hausa accent in 8 months

Now they are trying to. Lie about the girls age but her elder brother has come to state his own age so how younger sister can't be older than him

      Delete
    2. She needs thorough deliverance for that water she drank to neutralise thereby bringing back her senses.
I guess that Yunusa has been eating and dashing her money in her mother's shop and she thought it would continue like that. #yimu
When they hardly give their wives money let alone nwa Bayelsa.
Hope he hasn't given her 'belle'?

Bride price he didn't pay...and he eloped/kidnapped her, he shld be charged to Court tho

  26. Hmmm, the parents really need to take the girl for deliverance and she needs to go through a lot of counselling .

  27. According to an audio released purportedly being d voice of Ese, she stated that she wasnt abducted but ran away with her 18 year old lover. She said she was born in 1999 and now 17yrs old. This thing seems to be a runaway love story gone wrong. I just hope the parents didnt play Nigerians by saying she was 14 just to get d media hype. Parents should raise their children better and stop breeding miscreants o jare!

    2. Her immediate elder brother said he is 16yrs old
Their eldest daughter is 19yrs old
      So ese3cant be 17yrs old

Even if they lied against her age, does that mean their daughter shouldn't be returned.

Imagine you having a daughter and waking up not to see her. Only to hear she is in Kano and has been converted and married away without your consent or presence.

Besides I'm 100% sure that voice wasn't ese. That voice has a strong Northern accent. I was born and brought up in the north . Stayed there for 21yrs before leaving to Lagos and I don't have such accent talk more of someone who has been there for just 8 months

  29. Quranic verses are written with charcoal or one black ink like that on the board. The board they use in islamiyya. When the verses are written on the board, it is then being washed into a cup of water or the quantity needed. Mehn if you are a woman and you drink the water, hmmm oyo is your case o. The woman won't remember her family again o. Na to they answer Aisha, Fatima and Co remain. The same is applicable to men too but women are mostly their victims especially those dating hausa boys. I hope Ese's parents won't loose ese sha. The emir is usually involve in it.
