Angry Passengers Chase Arik Staff For Unexplained Cancellation Of Port Harcourt Flight.

This Brouhaha is a developing story.please indicate if you saw it happen or you are still watching the on-going fiasco.....

''Dear Stella,my sister in law has been at Abuja airport since morning,i booked 11am flight for her to Port harcourt and the flight was shifted to 4pm then she called again that it has been moved to 8:30pm then she called again that it has been moved to 11:30pm now it has been cancelled and there is no one to address them on what next,if they are to return tomorrow morning or what?

What is wrong with Arik when other flights has been going? it cant be weather issues...

Arik air has been taking Nigerians for granted just because the feel they are the best.

UPDATE....
Arik workers are running and the passengers are chasing them,Army men want to seize my sister in law's phone because i asked her to send pix of what is going on, people are fighting at the airport by this time of the night. Smh''

    3. They are shouting buy naija to grow to naira mean while they are messing up. Instead of using the little money they have to improve their services, they are busy endorsing kaakiri. This is where the regulatory bodies should come in. When they are supposed to suspend, they won't suspend, it's matter that doesn't consign them they'll be doing gra gra on top. Mschew. They have kukuma received bribe from the officials so they won't take action. Honestly this country ehn, it's well.

  4. It is so ridiculous, you have no idea. My flight for 11:40 am today from Lagos to Asaba was cancelled at about 5:45pm. No apologies, no remorse, no explanation whatsoever. The staff were even giving us attitude on top our money. We couldn't get refunds, some of the checked in bags were put on flights that moved. Ridiculous situation I tell you and the staff carried on like it wasn't a big deal. There was a man in a wheelchair who had a medical appointment he paid 12k dollars for and the clinic day is tomorrow. He would obviously miss it and he was so sad. We need to boycott Arik for real. They do not deserve to run a business because they are a bunch of clueless and irresponsible people. Pissed off is an understatement for how I feel. Now I am stuck in Lagos for the holidays and I don't get to see my family after paying over N35K for the flight and N8k for the van that took me to and from the airport today. Crazy stuff!

  5. Stella,I can so relate o.It was not a funny experience yesterday at Abuja airport.Seemed the whole of Abuja travelled yesterday.Everywhere was filled with frustrated passengers.Almost all the airlines shifted or cancelled their flights.I was to fly Dana of 3pm to Lagos but the flight was shifted to 5.I was even lucky I was still able to make it Lagos.Arik kept cancelling and Shifting their flights.Medview had no planes on ground.Infact,Arik plane going to Asaba had to tell their passengers to alight cuz the plane couldn't take off.Arik has really been messing up lately.I knew it would be worse today. So I don't doubt that this happened.

An aircraft can be hot on ground not on air, on ground very likely the APU got issue but on air, that's an emergency case o o which we don't pray, because 02 is gradually loosing then, which can make the 02 mask drop n sharp decent will take place and the Capt will call for Mayday mayday
The coupit crew needs the 02 more than anyone in d aircraft, sorry to say,

  12. That's why I fly Aero in Nigeria. I can't shout abeg.

If Aero won't take me there, I travel by road. Who has time to patronise Arik?

    Nonsense.

    1. Aero.. I hate that flight so much after using them when I was in my final year in the University.. Their services that time was poor and they had some seats that were damaged.. Plus they kept canceling until we finally left Lagos to Abuja. Flew with them once and never used them..

      Hope they are better now

      Delete
    2. Aero has nousy aircrafts and looks old and worn out. Dana is more organized and timely. Disciplinary action should be taken against Arik by the necessary authorities. They cant continue to bullshit us.
They mess up and lack any form of customer service /relations.

  14. No be small On Wednesday 23rd March my Arik flight of 07:30 was delayed to 09:00 (they sent SMS and email though) and arrived LOS by 10:15 and had to wait for 10 minites for the step to be brought and another 10 minutes for the bus to come which carried some and others walked to the arrivals.
The 1:30 return flight to PH was moved to 3:00pm, then by 3:10pm Arik announced a 1hour 10 minutes delay due to operational reasons. Then by 4:30pm (when we should have been airborne), they announced further 30 minutes delay due to operational reasons. then we later boarded by 5:15pm. Take off finally by 18:25 after pilot said we were on take off queue.

  16. Arik is full of shit, that airline is just a huge disaster.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Arik's problems are hydra headed. Our chairman wouldn't pay pilots well so many of them are moving to other airlines causing a shortage of pilots to fly, this has led to flights been cancelled or terribly delayed because there are either no captains or co-pilots to fly. Secondly, I don't know what the issue is with fuel. We are always having fuel challenges every festive period, the aircraft won't be given fuel until long after the departure time, causing lots of delays. The decision making process at the top is very poor, everyone is scared of being fired by the Arik Chairman Sir Arumemi Johnson. All he cares about is flying to every destination and acquiring more brand new aircraft, without resolving the issues being experienced in the current routes being operated. He won't listen to input from staff who interact with passengers. It's a truly sad sad situation! Arik has so much potentials but the one man business bad management is ruining things. The staff suffer for the incompetency of the management, get beaten up when flights are cancelled and all. I'm just so upset that we are frustrating people with our poor services. I wish we will get our acts together!

  21. Nigerians can NEVER boycott something. Must they fly arik? The airline keeps treating them like shit and they still patronize them. Tomorrow some ppl will STILL book arik. Our leaders don't rwspect us, and we also don't respect ourselves.

    1. I share the same thought with you on this one. Nigerians need special prayers to have courage to do the needful.

Even the flight to Lagos from abuja was delayed.

  23. Arik and that ph airport ehn...only God knows.
My mum, brother, his wife, MIL and daughter same thing happened to them lije a yr or so ago, frm 8am flight they left abuja 12.30am. Return my mum cos she came back 1st i picked her at 1am.
People should file a class action suit against them and it will serve as deterrence

    ReplyDelete
  24. Until Nigerians DEMAND better treatment they won't get it.

    It's that simple.

And no its not just Arik.

I've paid for a 4pm flight(Areo) from Uyo to Lagos that eventually saw me boarding the aircraft after 11pm.

Yes,we understand that shit happens but why is it so challenging to treat passengers with the care and regard any normal business treats its 'esteemed stakeholders' and address their worries, fears, concerns without first ignoring them for hours and then offering them some silly,
    nonchalant excuse for postponed/cancelled/'dissapearing' flights?

    Is this possible??

    👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👎👎👍👍👍👍👍

On a much lighter note, Stella are you not doing Easter S&M???? 😂

Are you telling me that I've been polishing my halo for nothing???😁🙌😇

    Hian!

  25. Hmmm, those arik people can be very very annoying. They have the guts to get a new ambassador but can't operate well

    ReplyDelete
  26. Haba it's actually God that save but when it comes to safety measures in Nigeria I think Arik is still the best. However on Thursday Medview had same crisis a 2pm flight was moved to 6pm and the 10.30pm abuja to Lagos. They landed Lagos at about past 11. I'm guessing there's a major issue with airlines during festive periods in Nigeria.

  28. I remember back then in the University when Arik air was the only flight going from Lagos to jos or jos to Lagos.. And they had days when they fly. Very annoying something... Slept at the jos airport one time because they canceled the flight very late and I couldn't go back to my apartment.. Slept at their annoying airport till morning and the flight was still delayed till 12pm. Only for them to fly to have a stop over at kano (BTw not even the route but thru had to stop over so some people will go and some people will come in) before we left for Lagos... It was a very annoying trip. Got to Lagos so late and tired

Hated them but no choice as they were the only option from Lagos to jos and I had to see boo my now hubby often . The only other option then was stopping at Abuja and then taking bus to jos, what kind of stress would that be..

Hope this has changed now. Hope they have more flight from jos to Abuja

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why people still Arik is beyond me. When there are other airlines......... Do ppl even value their safety at all. I'm the sort that doesn't just enter any airline, if d one I choice is fully booked, I move my flight to another date. Nobody is chasing me.
They now go ahead and make omoni ambassador. Shld that be their propriety rite now?
Abeg ppl shld start boycotting them, maybe they wld seat up. It's only thru God dat airline hasn't had technical issues, it's God just protecting them. I pray nothing ever happens, but I don't feel safe on Arik at all, so I will never enter. People shld start valuing their safety abeg.
