    1. O sharrap! We don't need to have a national carrier. National carrier is the least of our problems. UK doesn't have a national carrier (BA is a public listed company) and USA doesn't have a national carrier.

This is just a big distraction. Amaechi should just work hard to make sure our airports are of international standards. He has to also totally overhaul FAAN and all those other useless agencies.

    2. Of course we need a national carrier. In fact we are in dire need of it. Why shouldn't we have one, instead of subjecting the country to inconveniences that make foreign carriers intimidate and bully us?

Having a national career will not only create jobs internally, it'll also save us a lot of money. It'll boost our economy. Look at how virgin Atlantic fired all their Nigerian staff recently, or at least most of them... is that how it should be? Do u know how much monies would be generated from our national carrier?

Do u realise that Nigerians travel the most, according to world travel evaluation/statistics? Yet she has no official carrier? Does it make any iota of sense to you? Nahhh

    1. Honestly I think that air travel and railways are the most important means of transportation that should be invested in for now. Not to mention how much money will be generated from both.

In no time they'll recover whatever monies will be invested into the sector. You'll be shocked

  10. Good one. Arik be charging passenger fare at ridiculous prices, Aero gradually joining them. With this, I hope it will be achievable as we need strong competitions amongst them all.

  13. Another scheme to dupe Nigeria. What happened to Nigeria Airways/Virgin Nigeria/Air Nigeria? Jimoh Ibrahim took bailout funds for Air Nigeria and closed operations and no one questioned why he took bail out funds only to close down operations ' temporarily ' till today. We don't need a national carrier. Support existing Nigerian Airlines

    Erm,what did I read sef?

  15. He is trying to create an airline that he will privatize. Why do we need an airline when we have no airports taht are worldclass? We no even get roads. As usual, gravitating towards things that add value to the successful. As a struggling nation, here is what we demand of the transportation sector:
    1) connectivity between cities and villages so that the cost of goods can be greatly reduced.
    2) Ease of transporting goods both into and out of the country.
    3) Safe worldclass airports in at least each geographic zone of the country so that transportation of goods and services can be more efficient.
    4) Encourage growth of the courier sector by offering incentives/concessions for smaller operations like office delivery, etc
    5) Support the expansion of the commuter industry by providing incentives for small operators to run profitable and sustainable operations on pre-identified major routes.

Poor man no need Nigeria Airways. Poor man comprises 70% of the country. Address the needs of hte poor man and you are well on your way to a successful tenure as minister.

  16. This is another to get the money back Amaechi funded APC with. His rail project is just there. Please he should just get ready to be sacked, because evidences are piling up against him. Anytime i remember what this man did in Rivers State, am pained. Not one single project. Not one.
