Robbers storm Hospital In Ondo

Workers and patients at hospitals in Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State are now living in fear following series of attack on two of the hospitals in the community by suspected robbers.

DAILY POST authoritatively gathered that two hospitals in Okitipupa was last week Sunday andMonday invaded by suspected robbers while nurses and patients were not spared from beating.

The attack was said to have been allegedly carried out by the same gang.
A source told our correspondent that the robbers who stormed the hospitals separately between10pm and 11.30pm of the fateful days collected some undisclosed amount of money from the nurses and other staff of the hospitals.
According to the source, the hoodlums also forcefully collected some amount of money from the patients on admission while patients and nurses who had no money to give were mercilessly beaten.

One of the victims on condition of anonymity said, ” the hoodlums were four in number, masked and they came to the hospitals on motorcycles.
“They threatened to shoot whoever did not cooperate with them, so all of us laid down and allowed them to do their operation without any hindrance .
” They were asking everybody, including the patients to bring out money and those that did not have money to give them were seriously beaten.

” It was very unfortunate. We tried all our efforts to call the police but we did not succeed because they also collected our phones and other valuables. ”
He, however, noted that nobody was killed nor raped during the operation by the hoodlums.

It was gathered that immediately after the operation on the first hospital, the victims reported the case at the police station in the town.
The police was said to have promised to take action but less than 24 hours, another operation was carried out in another hospital in the town in same manner by the same gang .

Effort to reach the Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Mr Femi Joseph proved abortive as his telephone line was switched off at the time of this report.
But an officer in the State Anti-Robbery Squad who confirmed the incident said the police had being on the lookout for the hoodlums.

  2. In fact , I am not surprised.
That's what you get when an entire language refuse to train their children. to embrace hardwork and perseverance.
Instead they prefer to blame others for their woes.

    3. I assume that in this case you mean Yoruba people. Ironically, lots of academics, doctors, lawyers, etc are from Ondo State.

The fact that a tiny minority from the state choose to become armed robbers doesn't mean the entire tribe has failed.

Educate yourself before you come on here to spew trash. And I'm no, I'm not from Ondo state.

  23. James u and your language people. That was how i went to Aguda market to buy something early January, i heard one woman in the market saying this language people. I laughed small and remember money maker. Money maker come back and dont be a JAMES.

These thieves no fear at all. So hospitals are now making money for them to go and steal.

These language people know what to do. Just put juju on the doorstep once they enter, they will start sweeping the entire hospital and cleaning the toilets. If that is done, they will never go there
