Nigeria international Ikechukwu Uche has joined Malaga on loan, only six months after signing a three-year deal with Mexican side Tigres UANL.
It is a quick return to the Spanish top-flight for the 32-year-old striker, who left Villarreal in June 2015.
He was injured on his Tigres debut, in which he also scored, and has made no further appearances for the club.
"The chance to return to Spain with Malaga came at the right time and I thought why not," Uche told BBC Sport.
Uche's injury, which came after he had scored in a Concacaf Champions League game against El Salvador's Isidro Metapan in September, meant he could only watch as Tigres clinched a fourth Mexican league title in December.
"Things didn't quite go as planned in Mexico, it's the unpredictability of life but there are no regrets," he said.
"I made friends, witnessed the team celebrate a league title and enjoyed the support of everyone at Tigres.
"The decision to come back didn't take much thought and I genuinely can't wait to get started again with Malaga.
"I just want to make a big contribution, repay the trust and hopefully fulfil expectations."
Uche, an Africa Cup of Nations winner in 2013, is one of Nigeria's top scorers with 19 goals in 47 appearances.

Please those of you who know...what does it means to join a club on loan?is it bad or good News?I have always thought about this but never really asked.
I mean does it mean he wont get paid?
End time loan deal
ReplyDeleteIt's neither a good thing nor a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes! He wld still be payed.
When you're being loaned out by current club,it means they've got no use for u yet! And if you're a player with big potentials, its belittling to say the least.
When being loaned out,ur parent club still pays ur wages in most cases or they prolly reach an agreement with the club asking for ur services thru a loan for u 2b paid by them...either way u are being paid.
Most clubs do it havin lotsa reason in mind. Either they want u to have a 1st team experience @d lower club or they need u to improve on ur fitness.
In most cases, most o these clubs seeking out loan can't afford to buy the said player and hence seeks out for u 2b loaned by ur current club
It can be bad but also good. It's bad when ur club loans you out cos they feel you are dispensable. They might loan u to a club that's not so good. It's good for the player sometimes cos they might get loaned out to a good club were they perform better and given more chances than in their original team. So it can be good or bad
ReplyDeleteHe will get paid.
ReplyDeleteUche weldone.
ReplyDeleteLoan is giving out something that will yield interest. Bookuru people i talk lie?
ReplyDeleteSee how fresh uche is looking!! who says money aint good, this one that was looking like a bricklayer before, chai!!
ReplyDeleteGood for him
ReplyDeleteGood one Uche from your fellow Aba boy, Stells Uche still belongs to the parents club from mexico but lays for malaga of spain, it means that mexican club still owns him inspite him soujourn in spain until his contract expires or gets terminated on mutual consent. In paying his wages Tigers pays a part while malaga pays a parts. If Uche does well for malaga, they can go for negotiation with mexican club to own him fully.
ReplyDeleteIt means his former club don't need his services at d moment so they send him to another club who will take care of his bills which was contacted to with his previous club during that loan period while he renders his services to them.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing i see is his cuteness .
