Food For Thought.

Does this make sense to you...?

Hello Stella,

Kindly, permit me to use your platform to express my thoughts on the on-going corruption fight in this country. Your compliance will be much appreciated!

Is it a coincidence that Saraki and Dasuki share the same Attorney?

This shows how good and experienced the Attorney his. While this man has not committed no crime in plying his trade, has he ever thought about the kind of a country his children and families will live-in in the future? I know his family might be staying in abroad, but has he ever thought about what might happen to anyone of them in the future if they visit the country?

If people keep getting away with corruption, it increases the level of crime in the country and when crime is at its height, no one will be saved in this country irrespective of your wealth and status.

You are a successful lawyer, stay away from cases that your offsprings will be ashamed of you in 100 years to come when they heard about how you aided corrupt officials years back.

Thanks

Sammy Bula

  1. Dear poster Sammy, the lawyer is good so he's earning his pay ok? Dint worry about his offspring being ashamed in years to come ok? Inugo? It's their problem not yours. Plus I'm sure if the offspring offer your own offspring the money their dad made from defending these politicians your offspring will take won't they? Enjoy your day

    1. So,you are saying Dasuki should go free abi? There has been notable cases where very good defence lawyers has left the client knowing they committed gross offence.
Trinity, if you were a lawyer. Will you defend the perpetrator of Nyanya bombing and assuming your child was one of those who lost their lives?

There is a difference between aiding the client to get reduced punishment and helping him go Scott free. I will rather be part of the people that put this man behind bars.

If you watch crime channel, most defence lawyers for criminals deny publicity while the prosecutors happily come infront of the camera to tell how they put away the most dreaded criminals that cut people's life short and how they will keep coming for their parole to make sure they are not released.
Most of those Lawyers that defended those criminals end up regretting it. Most of them wish they could take back the hands of time. Yes,you are doing your job but you are not patriotic. When you chose money and betray your nation. He can aswell be likened to Dasuki.

    2. Anon I'm no lawyer but lawyers defend all sorts. Murderers, kidnappers, innocent people too. It's their job. That's what puts food on their table. This particular lawyer is lucky to defend 2 rich people so he should be ashamed? If he dsnt take the job, other lawyers will so pls the argument is baseless. The post is senseless

    3. So you're saying whatever puts food on one's table regardless of whether it taints your integrity and conscience?

Yes it is the job of a defense Attorney to defend his clients but there is always the option of choosing to walk away when you know that the person you are defending or wanting to defend is guilty of that which he is accused of.

    7. Sammy Bula I disagree with you totally. Are you aware that every accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty? Equally the accused is entitled to defend him/herself either personally or through an attorney. Learned counsel to Saraki and Dasuki is only doing his job and protecting the presumption of innocence of the accused as provided in the constitution. It is left for the prosecution to do his homework very well. The prosecution can also seek counsel from seasoned lawyers if he doubts his ability. Moreover it is settled law that prosecution can not rely on the weakness of the arguments of the accused; but must proove its case beyond all reasonable doubt. This is my humble submission.

  4. And those that represent boko haram in court should be stoned to death abi?
Stella, pls stop posting such nonsense, every one is entitled to legal counsel even if they are guilty. And by the way, stella hope you know you are perverting the course of justice with this post? These men are innocent until proven guilty by a court of law and with this post, you are giving the insinuation that they are guilty anf its wrong on all levels and you should know better.
This is the kind of post dasuki was talking about, this will already make him guilty in the court of public opinion and if the court frees him, the people that have read this post will say the judges have been bribed because you already used your blog in supporting a guilty verdict against them.
Even during the election cases, i always said there is no way apc will win plenty of the cases that go to the supreme court cos they know the law and even this card reader that people rely on heavily is not in the electoral act which is the guiding laws of elections.
Its the same way people call for the sacking of the cbn gov but thank God for the expose of yesterday or so.

    1. Statements like this keep bringing us down. With all the evidence presented and more to come you are shouting innocent until found guilty in the court of law. What sane Nigerians are hoping for is justice to prevail to serve as a deterrent to others. Stella has done no wrong in posting this. So sock it.

  5. Lol! At poster, I'm a medical student but I just came across this two days ago while doing some work . Cardinal rule of the bar : no counsel may refuse to defend because of his opinion of the character of the accused not of the crime charged . It is not his function to determine the truth or falsity of that defense .

    2. I guess doctors should also deny treating thieves with bullet wounds because it's wrong? No matter the evidence brought forward to a court the accused is still innocent until proven guilty by the court of law.

  6. But someone has to defend them na? Its part of their constitutional rights as citizens of this great jungle.

  10. Everybody has a right to a lawyer! Even the person who goes on a killing spree is entitled to a lawyer!

What is justice if we all judge these people from hearsay? So because they are "allegedly" corrupt, we should slaughter them without a case?

Even God asked Adam and Eve to defend themselves after eating the fruit in the garden of Eden...

If we go along with this your line of thought, no lawyer will represent them and who knows how many innocent people "WE" would have killed?

The man does his job DILLIGENTLY, Let the prosecution too do so.

  14. Stupid complaints. What's your problem? The lawyer shouldn't have accepted the job, or what? You're sick in the head you hear? Ana-akwugherisi. I don't blame you guys, its because stella made it free, I'm sure if there was a price to pay for this page you consumed, you and your likes won't bother us every now and then with stupid articles. Even in developed countries, the worst criminals get themselves the best lawyers as long as they can afford it. I put it to you Mr. Sammy, you are a big threat to democracy, and you deserve to be locked up for conceiving such a wicked thought, you deserve to rot in jail. Yes I said so!
I really don't comment, but damn! This is a piece of shit!

I must be seriously hungry this morning, when did i study law?
    Did i?
It must have been in my dreams.
    Or not?
Maybe i am confusing the L in Language studies with L in Law.
All must surely be the same.
    *Checks my 1964 textbooks*
No no no no no. I am not even sure i studied either.
Wait a minute, if i didn't study Law or Language studies. What did i study? I know i spent some of my days having sex , others walking to somewhere with a purpose but cant remember where , other days annoying people, other days on SDK blog annoying other people.

  21. Sammy Bula!!! Who are you to judge??? So as a lawyer he should discriminate on cases to handle, abi? Let him use the money and train his offsprings to levels that will see them being future Presidents and ministers, then tell me who would be ashamed to enter the country!!!
Sammy Bula, you are an IDIOT!!!

  22. Very senseless post, I'm sorry to say. So he shouldn't put food on his table?
When cases come to him he shouldn't take them??
Have you thought about the fact that even murderers are giving the opportunity to come with lawyers to defend them??
This is the rule or law
This is how it happens in every developed country
Someone defends the thieves, murderers, and what have you
At the end of the day, if the lawyer wins, he wins. If he doesn't, he moves on

But we all have a right to a lawyer until proven guilty by the law

At this point, with all evidence against dasuki, the law has not proven him guilty.

This is how it happens every where

    ReplyDelete
  23. Saraki and Dasuki are both entitled to have the best lawyer and the lawyer is doing his job. We all hope to be the best in our chosen career so it's not the lawyers fault that he's excelling in his field. The government should also get senior lawyers to handle these criminal cases. You think the lawyers are the problem then you've not seen the Nigerian constitution. The constitution is the problem because all the rules there have loopholes where the person can escape from.
