Fire Guts Popular Prostitutes' Building in Port Harcourt

Tragedy occurred at ‘Akamas’, a popular sex workers joint in Choba, Port Harcourt, as raging inferno razed the whole building where sex workers transact their businesses.

The incident which occurred at about 1pm today February 25, destroyed properties running into millions, before the men of the Rivers state Fire Service intervened to salvage the situation.

As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the inferno was yet to be ascertained but a resident in the area who pleaded anonymity however disclosed that a Catholic church reverend father had warned the sex workers in the area about a month ago, to desist from such acts other wise the fire of God will consume them.

“We don’t know what really happened, but fire just started and before we knew it, this place had been levelled by the fire.
“But i remembered that one reverend pastor warned these ladies to stop their businesses here otherwise or the fire of God will consume them,” she narrated.

    1. "Good for them". If you ever engage in premarital affair,i mean ever fornicate or commit adultery, then your own fire will be greater than theirs.

we have a duty to pray for them to come out from their evil ways and come to God and not to wish them ill. It is by God's grace that you are not one of them and not by your own strength.

Most of them are victims of broken homes and useless irresponsible parents.
My only problem is with those that still do the job beyond 35 years.
Every woman should enter his horseband 's house @ dis age. Any woman still single beyond 35 has a flaw character.

  19. Stella Before judging why don't u simply thank God u were not pushed to such a limit that this was the only job available. We need to stop judging people. If u listen to their stories u will be shocked. All of u making mouth here how many of u have made a change in someone's life? It's to come here and be judging. I thank God everyday that I haven't been pushed to this limit. But the change starts with us. Send ur domestic staff to school rather than flogging them unnecessarily and sending them into this kind of life. 5k a month can save someone from this life.

The people hawking gala do not have 2 heads. Those who started pure water biz with 1k do not have 3 heads. Ok.. olajumoke was hawking 50naira bread when luck found her. Yea not all will make it big like her, but she also could have decided to be a prostitute and she wouldn't have met TY Bello on that fateful day. My point is that there are far better dignifying jobs than to resort to a brothel. Nothing can ever justify it..nothing

Nobody shld preach to me abt poverty, hardship and coming frm a poor home...There is dignity in decent labour.Onye kwe,chi ya ekwe.

Get a skill if u cant afford education...Enterpreneurs are earning bigger than most salary earners nw.There is no justification whatsoever for prostitution.

Back to d story,i hope no life was lost?Repent and gv ur lives to Christ..

    4. Chysugar. 100likes for this ur comment. Infact chop kisses. Infact next time u go toilet call me let me come and clean ur nyash for u.

Their is no justification for prostitution. Start somewhere. Those People selling pure water, sewing cloth, washing clothe for people, being a sales rep, selling stock fish and frozen fish and the rest of them, they re human being they do not carry two head. U musnt be a banker, lawyer, doctor amd the rest to suceed inLife or make it big atleast start somewhere.

To me there is no excuse for failure, start somewhere with determination, hard work, persistence, little cash coupled with Gods blessing, the person will make it. But most of them wants quick cash

I stay close to choba and didn't hear of this incident until later in the evening, stella dat place looks like a shrine o, very dirty looking zinc n wood house close to choba market, there's nothing worth millions there jare. @least the landlord can now do something meaningful with his land coz I heard they've bn asking the prostitute to leave but refused so this is an automatic quit 4 them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Please if you are into the business and you are here kindly do us a favour by shutting down your gutters. There is no reason for hawking ones body. Okay, lets say you want to bec you are financial incapacitated to start up a business.... Then what happens after the 1st-2nd one? Can't you quit and use the money you got to start a decent business for yourself? No! these women won't quit bec they are greedy and lazy. They are after material things. All the money these babes get, goes into make up, shoes, bags, hairs just rubbish things and later they will say "Condition". What rubbish condition? I saved up my NYSC money which I used to do my Okirika business for some time before I got my job. It was even this step I took that caught the attention of the person that offered me the job.

Disabled people make good use of the opportunity they have to do something for themselves talk more an enabled human being that is just naturally lazy.

In my own opinion I will say some women are naturally lazy and what quick cash. Longer throat won't let them see reality. If you are guilty let us talk rubbish!!!
