Hi Stella,
Please i feel the need to address this issue once and for all. I want to state categorically here that giveaways are meant for the NEEDY,  by this,I mean the DIRE NEEDY.  Monetary giveaways are not free money given out by some "money miss road", NO.  

They are meant to help put a smile on some faces that are challenged at the time,  trust me Stella,  there are many passing through challenges.  However,  I am both angry and pissed off at the length people would go just to get money they do not need. Imagine women whose husbands are alive and well claiming widowhood, I wonder how their husbands will feel if we published their applications . 

Some would claim their husbands have either been sacked or ran away with a mistress, on investigation, we found them to be false claims.Students, whose parents are well and able to care for them claiming poverty just to get giveaways. The Bible says "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he". Stop killing your husbands and decreeing poverty upon your parents.  STOP IT!

Stella,  my main reason for drafting this memo is with regards to the publishing of The Angel Blaze and Ashafa January Giveaway recipients. God bless you Stella for not just publishing the names as usual but publishing the reasons given also,I want that to be the status quo henceforth. 

One of the recipients of the Ashafa giveaway sent a mail in to say her account was hacked,that she neither applied for Ashafa giveaway nor does she need the money as her parents had done the needful. She also stated that people had been asking her why she was begging. This is someone who has applied for giveaways and has benefitted in the past, had Stella not published the way she did it this time, it would have been business as usual. Hackers indeed. My dear, I say to you #leavetrashforlawma. 

   As an obiter,  I feel the need also to address the issue expressed by some concerned Bvs about unknown bvs being recipients.  Truth is, we shortlist based on applications received, priority is given to known Bvs if they have a good case but then that is if they apply , in the event that they do not, what do we do?  We pick from the available applications.  Mind you, these so called unknown Bvs are the popular "anonymouses", it is easy to decipher who a Bv is sometimes by the lingua of the application, we have a way of knowing ourselves. 

  This is a new year,  if you are not challenged, please do not claim to be.  To those who are challenged and truly in need,  I say to you "This is your year" , I don't care what the challenges are right now or how enormous they may seem,  before the year is over, your status would have changed from "receiver"  to "giver". You shall be celebrated!

GETTING HIGH ON COUGH MIXTURE

Hello Stella happy new year to you and my fellow bv's ,this year will be a year of favour for us all in JESUS name,Stella I saw something that surprised me on new year's day,there was a carnival like party in our area,Lagos island to be precise...the whole area was filled with the young,old ,people from all walks of life,around evening a woman came to set up her wares,you know those roadside drug sellers,she had ice in a bucket and then brought out a box of benylin cough syrup and she started putting them on ice,what for? 

I asked myself so I went up to her I asked why she was doing that,she said girls buy them and mix them with stout so as to get high and boys mix them with water for the same purpose...to say I was shocked to my marrow is an understatement so I want to urge parents out there to be extra vigilant about what their kids do because cough syrup is no longer harmless it can make our teenagers high,.thanks.

TESTIMONY

Members of BVN please help me praise the Lord. Just like most people, I was looking forward to the Xmas and new year celebration not knowing that d devil had a plan. On the 28th of December, my 9month old baby woke up and started throwing up. I thought it was something the pharmacist could handle but she didn't stop throwing up so I took her to the hospital that same day.

   After giving her injection and taking her drugs, she still didn't stop throwing up, so she was admitted the next day. I thought the vomiting will be controlled and then we can go home for the new year celebration. That was how antibiotics after antibiotics was administered to my baby yet she didn't respond to treatment. A few babies were admitted during our stay with the same symptoms but they went home after 2 or 3 days. Why was my baby's own different?

   I spent new year's eve looking out of the window of the children's ward at people making merry and having fun while I was sad and moody from watching my baby slowly dying. By new year's day she wasn't only vomiting but was also stooling and running a very high temperature. The doctor changed medication 3 times. Still no positive response. It was so bad the doctor turned prayer warrior. I called everybody I knew to join me in prayers. Then my baby began to respond  to treatment. I was so happy cos she had suffered a lot. 

Was it uncountable injections or the drips that passed through her right hand then it was moved to her left hand then her right leg which is currently swollen. My baby and I have lost so much weight from all the stress in the hospital. Our bill is story for another day. That one even  caused fight between me and my husband but we paid sha.

   I just thank God it's all over. She was discharged yesterday & today my own new year celebration officially begins.
