Erstwhile senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife, on Friday, defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ekwunife, who was inaugurated as senator in June, 2015, had her election nullified by Appeal Court in Enugu on December 6, 2015, on grounds of irregularities.
The court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh election in the zone within 90 days.
Ekwunife, who has begun preparation for the repeat poll confirmed her defection in a statement released yesterday.

Besides, Uche ekwunife defecting to APC to contest senatorial elections means the candidate APC would have flagged who is a bonafide member will lose the opportunity. Whether you are from APC, Accord Party, CPC, or even a known member of the Boko Haram sect, all you need to do to get the Anambra votes is "do a few things'. That is politics, the Anambra style.
