Nail Allegedly Found In Chi Happy Hour Drink...

Is this possible?A nail inside this pack and then brought out through the straw?

''Hello. Compliments of the season. Kindly indulge me with few minutes of your precious time. I beg of you to please read through.

On Oct. 27th, I purchased a carton of the Chi Happy Hour drink from High Steps Stores,18 ojodu abiodun road, Berger, Lagos. On Friday, Nov., my little daughter took a pack and drank it half way then gave my niece who lives with me. My niece drank from it and a nail sipped right into her mouth through the straw! Yes, a NAIL! In the drink meant for little children.(See pictures shortly)

We, I, (with my lawyer), have paid a visit to Chi Ltd, sent a couple of letters with series of mails. And guess what? The company doesn't give hoot about it.

We received their 1st and only letter on Friday, 20th Nov., simply because we copied NAFDAC in our last letter. And their letter was void of any form of empathy or concern whatsoever.

Ordinarily,  I would move on, carry on with my life since no one swallowed d nail. But this one question keeps creeping  through my mind: what if one of the kids had swallowed the nail? What if?

I desire at the very least a bit of empathy from the company. I desire to be assured that the workers and management of the company are not robots but humans and are able to understand my feelings as a mother. It is not always about money. My needs are met, God has been awesomely faithful to my family and I.  But for God, our story here would be different. So, no, it's not the money at all.

It appears Nigerians are expected to sleep on their rights. To shrug it off and just move on. But no, things have changed. Business isn't always as usual any longer. Trust me, this isn't a matter for the courts. Being a lawyer, I know how this works. So, no, it's not for the courts. I need you to PLEASE join me in this battle. Please give it as much publicity as it lies within your power to give. Thank you''.

    1. Imagine the nonsense. What is wrong with these companies these days? Esp companies that package drinks/food? If the child had swallowed the nail, trust me, they'd have denied it was their fault. Yes I agree that they should be blacklisted to serve as a deterrent to other careless entities like them. Enough is enough.

If they are not feeding us food poisoning thru their expired products, they are selling unregistered adulterated groceries.

All I had in my mind this holiday was what could be hidden in the juice packs we were all drinking. As I've seen all sorts from people who find dirt and insects in packaged drinks. Msheeeewww

With all d health alerts in d world today, it is disheartening dat parents still give their children these sugar/coulouring/preservatives laced drinks.

    1. I don't know what the problem of Nigerian mothers is. Give your children natural fruits or juice it yourself.

We prefer the already made "chemicallised" ones out of laziness and show offs. If I know I'm busy to prepare fruit juice for my kids, I just give them water to school. And when some sees you do that they think it's because you are broke and can't afford the poisons they give their kids.

And some people will still go and buy cartons now that kids will soon resume. Mtchew....wicked parents!

Madam, pure physics, nail is density friendly...d weight of dat nail cannot be drawn with the straw, now let me ask,was the nail in a standing position?I doubt it cos a jail cannot stand in water..if it was standing by the wall of can der is still no way it would fit itself into d straw..let dis not be a case of bush meat go catch d hunter cos if they follow up this matter u will be one apologizing for ruining the company's name

    Nail can't float
Nail can't be sucked thru straw
Nail would be at the bottom of the juice Pack
Unless it was poured in a glass cup will I believe this but thru straw??

Please don't make physic student come here with theories

  23. I have only seen reports of strange substances in the juice packs, what does NAFDAC do about these unhealthy reports. These companies should be slammed with heavy law suits.

  24. Pls producers shd be extremely careful because they r dealing with human`s live

  25. I rest my case for all those who said it is impossible, because believe it or no, IT DID HAPPEN. All I have to say is: "eni to kan, l'omo."
Wait till you have your own experience. I just pray it isn't worse!

    ReplyDelete
  26. For clarity, here's what happened: the nail is a very tiny nail. the type a shoe maker would use. And as per pressure, while I may not be a science guru, I know sufficient pressure from the mouth of a teenager through the straw would draw up a tiny nail. on whether it could have passed through the straw - IT DID!

For those who see this as a hustler looking for money: ask yourself, would you wake up one morning and decide to tell an unbelievable lie to make money??? I would rather a very convincing lie (say I found a maggot or a roach). so that this appears unbelievable is the very reason you should believe it, and it's really not a crime that you don't... I probably wouldn't too... but IT HAPPENED.

    Lola
