Imo Workers Defy Okorocha's Directive

Workers in 19 parastatal agencies and departments in Imo reported for duties, defying the directive by the state government that they should handover and stop work.

Governor Rochas Okorocha had, in a statement on Sunday, announced the sack of staffers of the organisations.
When NAN correspondent visited offices of some of the organisations in Owerri on Tuesday, some of the workers were seen at their duty posts attending to visitors, while some were discussing the development in groups.

The offices visited were Imo Water Corporation near Standard, Sports Council, Owerri, and Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission. Others were Imo Marketing Company located at Old Secretariat, Orlu Road Owerri, and Agricultural Development Programme (ADP), near NOA Office on Okigwe Road.

Some of the workers told NAN that they had yet to be served with any disengagement letters.

I have not seen any change and am still waiting but as for this tombo looking man he needs Jesus cos the rate at which I hear complain daily about him is disgusting.
He should be nice a little. Consider the masses before u take some certain decisions.

  11. Nigerians are too sentimental yet we want change...what we should ask is what is the reason for their services no longer been required? i am a civil servant and we have a lot of people just going to work and collecting salaries without adding value to the civil service...some designations are not even relevant anymore...you work for how many years yet want to write a memo the same way with the same sentence everytime...most just come to work few days in a week without doing anything...a department where only 10 people can do a job u find 30 people on the payroll...the money that goes into maintaining the civil service is humongous....my only grouse with this is if people who are still relevant and have something to offer are removed cos the have no godfather...if this country needs to move forward, some changes are so necessary...
for those who will come here to insult me for this comment as your usual practice, i can only lol cos not every one who come here comment without facts...

    As stupid as they come...
These same workers ala my people my people helped you wrest power away from Ohakim Ikedi(Ikiri )

Right now Ikiri is a lot better than you are...

You demolished the state library and replaced it with a religious edifice,
Which is rarely never in use!

With the mirad of churches in Owerri town, I still struggle with the rational behind this decision.

You act all power drunk...and run the government like a private family conglomerate :

Ugwumba Uche Nwosu ( your son-in-law)
was your first commissioner of works

Prof Awuka (your in-law ) your first SSG

Uche Nwosu is your current SSG while Professor Awuka is the current minister of education.

Okeoma's your in laws bossom friend Ifeanyi Ararume (Jnr ) has just been sworn in as a junior commissioner of commerce

Uches nwosus bossom friends from SUG are prominent in your government. ..Ugochukwu Onwuseraka, Okey

Dee Anayo you do well by surrounding yourself with people who will never tell you the truth.

These same people you have sacked will be your undoing.

    Jisike nnu?
