Headies 2015 Brouhaha - Memo From A Concerned Nigerian.

First of all, happy new year to everyone on this blog. May this year bring forth great manifestation of God's work in your lives.

I have observed with keen interest the controversy that has engulfed the Headies award and the way some of us have reacted to it and I want to chip in one or two things.

The way this award thing works is this, after the producers put out names of nominees, it's now left for the artists to go do their home work. Some artists and their team go round to parks, bars, cafes, lounge and even market places giving out recharge cards to people asking for their votes (and they spend hundreds of thousands on this). 

Mobilising people to vote for you doesn't start and end by sharing links on Twitter and instagram pages, it requires extra cost and I guess Reekado saw himself as the least favourite in that category hence the harder he had to work to garner votes.

Lil Kesh might have just been comfortable with the fact that his songs over time have been popular but failed to realise that popularity alone does not win awards but votes. I remember back when one of the chocolate city boys got a nomination and they took their entire team to Jos where they are from to mobilise people to vote for them, that's the extra work you have to do after getting a nomination.

Like the saying, work hard in silence and let your success make the noise. I guess Reekado took that advice seriously. Those of us saying that Lil Kesh should have won can you sincerely beat his or her chest to say that he or she voted Kesh?.

Another thing is people blaming Don jazzy for saying what he said, my people talk say 'nobi wen pikin tell elder say you de crase before e be insult oh'. It's not when Olamide calls Don jazzy's name before him go know say Olamide de insult him and his crew oh!

If it's OK for Olamide to stand up for Kesh, why is it not OK for Jazzy to stand up for Reekado? that's saying the MAVIN artist is not good enough, hence the genesis of Olamide's curses. How many of us would sit down quietly and watch somebody say all these 'BABA IYA EYAN' 'KO NI DA FUN IYA ANYBODY' (it shall not be well with their mama) when you know you are involved? Haba now!

Don jazzy is human too and has blood running in his veins. On top small matter sef, come see as SDK bvs de cuss demselves out. When things go wrong, don't find blame, find solutions. Have a blessed day people.

*I agree with each party defending themselves but Olamide's use of swear words was a NO NO NO for me.

Aside from that why are we all cussing each other out cos of them?At the end of the day this is just good publicity for each party and they are the ones that will smile to the Bank and not you.

They will hug and make up tomorrow and thats it.

This kind of Beef is part of every entertainment industry and i am almost pinching myself from saying ''what if they planned it''?..lol
