He goes around as a house Agent, gives you a place,  organise with a fake landlord, collects his agency fee and runs away giving you excuses that will amaze you. I have been having a challenge of leaving very early at 5am in other to beat the hold up to resume early before 7:30amto the office and close by 6pm and getting home by 9-10pm every day because of the traffic. I can’t afford to quite even the N50, 000 per month I earn I spend it all on transport and can’t even save from it, I am a man and I have family back home to send money to but I can barely even save. Update: SDK Giveaway for Enterprenuers

Sisi Stella,

My humble greetings o. I think I received over 120 emails lol but out of respect for the people that took the time to actually compose these emails, I read them all. I just wanted to give you an update on the process. I have shortlisted a few people and asked some follow-up questions before I decide on the final recipient. I will let you know when I pick a winner.

You probably already know this but the popular business ideas among BVNs, as evidenced from the IHN ads and my inbox, are: Cake Baking, Make-up Artistry, Fashion (Original Clothes and Shoes & Okrika Clothes and Shoes), Hair (Hair products and salon services) and Food services.

If you will permit a suggestion, I think it would be a good idea to set-up some sort of business plan competition, based on industry, every 2 or 3 months, similar to what you did for the cake bakers. It will include a shortlisting by a panel (similar to how we came together for the SDK parties) and then a final vote open to all BVNs so that even the business owners themselves can get a feel of how their end users perceive these businesses. This is invaluable feedback for any entrepreneur. Then a cash prize can be given from donated funds and maybe a free ad courtesy you :).

I think this will help some of these entrepreneurs even if it is just for them to sit down and think about what their plan really is to push the business. As you know, some of these industries are over saturated and many of the people that emailed me seemed to have only thought through what training they need or what equipments are required. 

Very few could articulate how they planned to make this a success or use the money to execute the business. Taking the food business as an example, there were quite a number of them but few came out with their differentiating points - one was Shawarma in Sokoto as she was tapped into the NYSC crowd, another was home delivery in PH etc.

The Gist:

On the 22nd night naim this tory wen i wan knack una shele, biko for those of you who cant read pidgin get an interpreter  *(sideeye)*

jejely jelely naim i sitdown out side my new hood, thinking how the new year go rosy for mua. lost in my thought and a young boy of about 

14 years of age walked up to me, i was facing downwards so as i saw his small leg, i lift my face up and he was dressed in a short nicca and a blue polo,

he flashed teeth at me and said aunty oma daaa( it will be good) before i could say jack, the boy has started preaching and skabashing, this must be Jesus in disguise i convinced myself,  before i know it my mouth was opening and closing and i was shouting thunderous  amen.

he stopped for a min and said aunty do you believe in God? yes i do, he said whatever his bothering you say it right now, i started praying and he said the lord has heard your pleas (flashing is teeth at me again ) he has  bright eyes, he said the lord want to do something miraculous for you, if only you will believe and have faith in him. i do i replied

he then said go get me a wrapper he demanded, a wrapper? yes he said, i rushed as fast as my two fat legs could carry me, i thought in my mind na that my new daviva wrapper wey i wan sew i go give this man of God, so God can do something new in my life.. (lol) 

i rushed in and carry the wrapper and rush  out back  before this my angel will disappear luckily for me he hadn't disappeared my Jesus in a boy disguise was still there. 

he brought out a small bottle of goya annoiting oil, and sprinkled on me and the wrapper,  and said don't worry it is well , God is about to surprise you, if you want to appreciate the lord in anyway do so (owo adura) prayer money. i gladly dipped my hand in my pocket and brought out a 500 naira note, and gave it to him. he prayed for me the last time and walked away, i was smiling to myself and saying God has remembered me. 

About 30mins  min later my room-mate came out and said i should follow her to get something, i was reluctant, little did i know my miraculous surprise was waiting for me.

we got to the aboki as my friend was buying what she wanted, jus beside the place is a (mai tea) mai tea are all those aboki that sells bread and egg and tea.

on his customer long bench was a leg stretched out, and looking at me was my daviva wrapper, used in covering the leg, i no know wetin carry my eye go there,  i move closer and my friend was calling out vera where you dey go? 

 shuooo na so i see my Jesus in disguise carry my wrapper cover body reach leg, drinking hot aboki tea, in front of him was fried egg in a flat plate and bread in his hand, he was doing justice to the food...(chineke mme) i shock.. as i wanted to call him by then my friend Has gotten to my back, wetin You dey fain up and down? i pointed at the boy and said i know....... before i could finish my statement she cuts in... (atawewe) where you know am from? shuoooooo

I narrated to her and she burst out laughing (hiss) she went to the boy and said atawewe aye e ti da o(your life don better o) his reply was ore e seyan o.(your friend do me well).

Na so my daviva wrapper and my 500 naira take waka o. (lol) na so the tory end.
