Daddy Showkey Says He Went Off Music Due To Incessant Threats To His Life

Veteran Nigerian Galala singer, John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy
Showkey, has revealed the reason for his absence from the music scene since the late 1990s.

The Ajegunje-bred singer told Hiptv in an interview that he abandoned music because of the incessant threats to his life.

The Ghetto lord recalled how he had repeatedly escaped assassination and co- ordinated auto crashes due to his strides in the music industry. Daddy Showkey, however, assured that his tribulation days were over as he plans to return to mainstream music again.

“I left the music industry,” Daddy Showkey recalled, “after I had a terrible accident and injured my spinal cord. I then went abroad to work on it. After I returned, I had to go back again for further treatment. As soon as I fully recovered and ready to hit the music scene again, assassins were after me.
“They came to my house to kill me but couldn’t find me at home and ended up
killing another person instead.

“As if that wasn’t enough, they still trailed me to a filling station and shot me. So you see, it has been from one battle to another, but I’m fully back to take over the centre stage,” he reassured.

Part of his motivation for returning to music, Daddy Showkey added, was his
recent endorsement deal with paid channel provider, Gotv as its brand ambassador. The endorsement deal was signed at the MultiChoice head office in Lagos early in December last year.

    1. Don't mind the idiot. I saw him in an axe men (black axe confraternity) tribute video on YouTube. You align yourself with all these stupid undesirable elements and you don't want threats to your life.

  12. Hmmm

Are you sure it's actually his strides in the industry?

Isn't it possible that it's his sins in the hood, trying to catch up?

I mean, dem never target all these moneybag musicians for their strides in the industry.

Thank God for your life o.

  15. Threats?
    What about him?
How many people has he killed just because of money from politicians?
I used to like him.. Blood on his hands.
He should repent and focus on giving his life to christ.
