Justice James Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday ordered the remand of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, in prison custody.
Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS, since last October when he was arrested, was arraigned along with Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi. The accused persons however pleaded not guilty to all the six counts preferred against them.
While ordering the remand of the accused in prison, the judge overruled a request by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Mohammed Diri, for an order further remanding the accused persons in the custody of the DSS.
This ruling came as a relief to the defence team, led on Wednesday by Mr. Chuks Mouoma SAN, who had complained that the accused persons had been denied access to their families and lawyers since their arrest by the secret police on October 14 last year.

ReplyDeleteAt least he go black small
He should stay there jare. Bringer of war
ReplyDeleteLet's pity him.cos it looks like he is now repentant.look how humble he looks.
DeleteAlthough they should keep watch over him.Dunno but there is just something about him.d glint in his eyes? Can't put a finger on it yet.
Lol@bringer of war.
DeleteTrinity I'm not sure you read and understood
DeleteOn this one he won
Because he wants to go to kuje prison
But dss have been holding him in their own cells since
So this is a win for him..
Let's watch as the story unfolds
tgw..slimy bitch
DeleteIt's good for him to go to prison so he can begin his test run of prison life.
ReplyDeleteOh dear!
ReplyDeleteI feel for his wife and child.
hmmmmm.....I hope this ends well.
ReplyDeleteSeems kuju prison is the reigning prison. Needs to visit there and see those important people
ReplyDeleteHe looks like a humbled man dere.Is dat a Sign of his repentance?
ReplyDeleteI don't want war.nor people that incite War.
Heard some certain people are damaging houses and properties and constituting public nuisance.
He should remain there infinito.. some people still died days ago bcos of the nonsense he started. So he wants to go home to his own family in peace, while he has thrown mourning into other people's homes. Mba..see his face. Mshew
DeleteHahaha. Serves him right. Next time he will behave himself. That's if there's a next time. Yeye fowl
ReplyDeleteHow do you people read and understand something
DeleteSo many illiterate here really
He asked to be sent to prison and not be in dss custody
And he won
So eat are you saying
Please read well
Oh shut it. Mr or Mrs literate. Did I tell you I didn't understand what i read? Has he been freed? Mumu. Mschew. Abeg park well and face front.
DeleteHoney you didn't know
DeleteBecause if you knew you wouldn't say serves him right..
You wouldn't be happy he got his wish. You would have wished he remained with the dss
So take correction and move on
He can't even request to go to prison because he hasn't been tried yet. So he should remain in the holding cell. Shikena
DeleteHmmm.. He has been remanded in prison for a while.. our judiciary.. whats happening??
ReplyDeleteI seem to be the only one who doesn't care about what's going on with this man and his so called Biafra disciples. If holding him in prison will reduce or eradicate the traffic in Lagos state, then please it's about time.
ReplyDeleteHe shld keep telling himself he'd one day be free and become the president... Mandela style... Kikikikiki... Abi o, olori
DeleteKikikikikikiki.....After this, you go learn lesson...if yhu hear bubu, u go run.
ReplyDeleteAnother daft person who didn't read the message properly
DeleteYanga dey sleep, trouble go wake am, he's in for it.
ReplyDeleteLet him face d law,if he's found guilty.
ReplyDeleteEyyah
ReplyDeleteAt the end of the day, to what essence is this cause? Another Saro Wiwa? This generation dont need such sacrifices mehn. Ingratitude begets the ordinary man out there. Fight for your family and sacrifice for your family if you must. Others are going about their daily businesses and these ones are jumping from one prison to another. There is nothing like your home bro. Think within yourselves and know if you actually need this for yourself or for the publicity. Most of those cheering you on will forget you all over time and if you end up being convicted, I tell you none of them will visit you in prison.
ReplyDeleteI guess its rather too late...
Mumu kanu. They shouldn't release him stupid ass crack. I want him to be in prison for @lest 5years without trial. Intelligent man like him behaving like a mental derailed ass.
ReplyDeleteNot fair at all.......
ReplyDelete106th comment 2016
And he may not hav see his new born baby.
ReplyDeleteAm sure he wasn't thinking of his son when he was clamoring for war.
ReplyDeleteHnmmmm. Hope he'll learn his lessons when he's finally out and he should just face his wife and cute baby.
ReplyDeleteDon't kill yourself for what you ain't sent....
You cant fight the government and win cos it will drain and break you without achieving your aim.....
Don't start what you can't finish Man. Life is too sweet to be behind bars...

ReplyDeleteAnd his foolish Biafra whatever think that it is all about protesting all over the place. They better calm down or they will keep dying like birds.
ReplyDeleteHmmm
ReplyDeleteI don't know what Buhari wanna gain by killing this youngman. With or without Kanu Biafra will rise one day.
ReplyDeletePresident of Nig is Anti-Igbo
Odenson
DeleteHmmmmm nawa oooh
ReplyDeleteMore dramer
ReplyDeleteOK na.
ReplyDeleteIt's saddening Nigerians don't read news but comment after headline
ReplyDeleteThe news States he asked the court to send him to prison which is a better option for him than been in the custody of dss
In prison he will have access to finish members and Lawyers
But in dss custody he doesn't have all that so he pleaded to be sent to prison while the case carries on
So it was a win for him on this one
It's tiring when I read comments and see daft comments and this are the people that engage in cyber wars with people..
Oh God of mercy
You are right, its a win for him but and the case is just beginning. Way to prison a place for people like him who love themselves more than the so call people they are fighting for.
DeleteWhy should they send him to prison when investigation is still ongoing?? Who says he doesn't have access to his lawyers??
DeleteSisi eko, u keep showing how dumb u are. Even after all d explanation, ur brain still no carry am.
