    1. Let me breakdown the 1st picture from the perspective of a SINGLE mum. The dialogue in the second half of the picture will be -

MUM - "Going out? Today? I have to prepare dinner for the baby, give him a bath and put him to bed....and I have no childcare."

TOASTER - "can I swing by later then? I just wanna see your pretty face, that's all"

MUM - "Hmm.(Long pause) ok, baby should be asleep by 8pm. Look here, it's because of you o!"

TOASTER - "thanks a lot. I know how busy you are with work and baby, and how it takes up all your time. Truth be told, I would really want us to go out and do things and have some fun, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice and adjust..blah blah blah"

      MUM - "thanks for understanding"

Toaster turns up at 8pm with a bottle of something, lovely gift, dvd and looking all fresh and dapper. Lonely single mum; comfortable and relaxed in her own environment, wetin you think say go come dey happen?

      Delete
    2. You just had to insult single mums. They are people too and no matter what or how the baby came about they are still trying to be good mothers; often times even better at it. Some dedicate their whole lives to the kids. You people judge them harshly without knowing their stories oh no tbey must be harlots, tried to tie him down, slept atound. I pity you people, ley God not make that your own case or that of your daughter; maybe you would kill her. Ever wonder why the most intelligent children or great men come from single mothers or what we term odd families?

The hubby n the children are your priorities.
You eat, they don't know, provided they eat, all is well.
You clean n clean, everything seems the same.
You get a play room, their toys find its way into other parts of the house. Days I step on the Lego, the pain ehnn, na die.
Doing all sorts chores like a maid, dear lord!!!!

When I think of those craving this moments n can't have them, I thank God for the beautiful pain he's given me to bare.
And when u finally have your "me time" late at night, sleep take over.

    Sigh!

The heartbreaks, the cheating boyfriends, the ones that can't understand why you don't have sex, the gnawing loneliness.... I look around me and all I see is married people who have families to go home to, sometimes I just feel like I should get pregnant, have a family of my own to love but I still believe in doing it right. I write this also as a heartfelt prayer to God to bless me with my own partner with whom I'd build a beautiful home with. I look at my mum and ask God what I've done wrong to deny this beautiful, godly and patient woman her beautiful grandchildren its well my dear....you are in my prayers too and I know God answers prayers
