StormRex Reveals On Soundcity City Divas That She Cant Date Her Colleague..

StormRex was recently interviewed on Soundcity Divas and When Pearl the interviewer asked her if she can date a guy in the industry... she replied by saying she couldnt cos she is a private person and wouldn't want her personal life to be out there in public.*rolling my eyes*

She also talked about why she's doing her style of music and why she sounds different from others. She explained the reason she sings in Igbo Language and reveals How music kept calling her back when she was still a student of Bio - Chemistry at Enugu State University of Science and Technology.

She also talked about how hard it was to combine music with her studies when she was famous in the East back in the day.

Did you know that she's trying to push her music into Lagos?. well, she is!
Interesting interview altogether.

ABOUT STORMREX

Yvonne Akuabata Ogbuogu aka StormRex was born in Eastern Nigeria, and is a graduate of Biochemistry from ESUT, Enugu.

StormRex started out her music career with a girl band THE DESPERATE CHICKS in 2007/2008. Do you remember the very hot female group from about 2008?

They sort of went cold after releasing the album “Tell Dem” a massive hit mostly in the East. Their lead-singer, StormRex, decided to go solo and released her debut album, “The New Storm” under her indie imprint in 2010.

Unfortunately, the album was a failure even though it carried popular features such as Flavour and Phyno, due to failure to promote her music. In 2010, StormRex signed a deal with Afro Gold Entertainment to release an album titled Freedom.

StormRex collaborates with a variety of artists. She has teamed up with artists such as Flavour, Phyno, Olamide and illbliss, to mention but a few. She sings mainly in the Igbo dialect and has a unique voice that is so desirable with the music that she creates.

In 2014, Stormrex signed a record deal with Penthauze Muzik; home to Phyno and many more celebrated artists.

StormRex continues to make music, which is a pure delight to her audience both at home and abroad.

    1. Not Flavour.. i think its Dekumzy. I think Dekumzy left her to marry Ursula ( her Desperate Chics co-singer) and that was what led to the break up of the group in 2009. You know StormRex was the reason Desperate Chics was a huge success in the East & environs.

      Delete
    2. Dekumzy was her producer & manager when she will still with Desperate Chics. Dekumzy had a management / record label called Dekumzy Entertainment and Desperate Chics were signed to him. This was back then in Enugu in 2008.

  24. StormRex is very talented and her voice is golden & unique.... Stella i think u made a mistake up there though, she signed to Afro Gold Entertainment in 2013 not 2014.

StormRex is very good musically but i think she hasn't been making the right choices concerning her music career. I heard Chocolate City wanted to sign her in 2013 when Audu Maikori heard NAALU EKENE by iLLBLiss feat StormRex but she didn't agree. Audu & M.I had to fly to Enugu and beg her for 3 months but yet she didn't agree. I believe that, had it been she's with Chocolate City, she would have been a bigger artiste cos they will push her wella instead of Victoria Kimani. Phyno's Pent Hauze is not really pushing her as she's supposed to be pushed. I wish her the best of luck in her career, she is sooo talented but underrated. I pray 2016 will be her year, she & Simi.
