Alex Okoroji Celebrates In Africa's Biggest On-Air Party Ever

Nigeria's Queen of Talk, the well known Expressionist and star of THE NAKED TALK, had a historic on Air Celebration which brought stars from many different countries together on Friday, 11 December 2015 @ 9pm GMT. As they celebrated the First Anniversary of her show and discussed Growth and Accomplishment with some meaningful insight. The show had in attendance...

Australian Film Journalist, Inspirational Leader and Founder of Rise Regardless -MONIQUE HOHNBERG

American Author and Life Coach- NINA BINGHAM who gave away two paperback copies of her book - "Once The Storm Is Over" to listeners.

British Rock Singer and Writer - ROMEO CROW

Nigerian Award Winning Filmmaker and Actor - JOHN NJAMAH

American Author, Life and Relationship Expert - CHEYENNE BOSTOCK popularly known as AskCheyB

Pop Rock Singer and Songwriter - PETER KELLY

Nigerian Humanitarian and Events Producer - VICTORIA NKONG

American Blind Blogger, Author and Motivational Speaker - MAXWELL IVEY JNR

Celebrated Entertainment Journalist and Blogger - STELLA DIMOKO who brought her feisty energy and positively lit up the atmosphere.

American Citizens Advocate - JOAN TREPPA

South African Author, Clinical Sexologist and World Influencer - DR MARLENE WASSERMAN, popularly known as DR EVE who was very active in the in-studio chat room and unfortunately dropped off the call due to traffic congestion.

Nigerian Web Developer and Designer - VICTOR AKIDI

Americana Folk Country Singer and Songwriter - SCOTT KROKOFF who performed an intimate Unplugged version of his song SPARROW in his new album "Realization and Declaration Volume 2" , LIVE all the way from his office in New York. And gave away two copies of his new album to two lucky listeners who called in to the show.

Even the Nigerian Entertainment Maestro himself - CHIEF TONY OKOROJI who is also Alex Okoroji's Father called in to show support and Celebrate with her guests.

Catching up with Alex, she had this to say - "I'm so happy that I was able to pull off having all these influential guests all at once on one show. 16 Special Guests? Damn! No, that has never been done on radio ever. It's a suicide, a creative suicide. And the traffic was crazy, we practically blew the Internet with so many listeners and fans trying to call in at the same time, to the point, a few of my guests got dropped off and couldn't connect back into the queue. And I'm so sorry I lost them. Many don't know this, but it's a double celebration for me.

This month also marks my 10th year in the Creative Industry from my early stint as an Actor on Television with Amstel Malta Box Office (AMBO) in 2005. Despite many challenges, I have perservered...I feel like I have grown and accomplished so much, featuring in Television, Movies, Radio, Writing Books, Blogs and Empowering people globally. And I'm ready to accomplish even more of my goals in 2016"

    1. Nice but quite disorganised

Got tired of listening! To pull in way too many people like that, it ought to be more organised because when someone I don't know is talking, everything becomes boring (and MB running down)

Stella, they will never stop pitching u and Linda together! Your answer on that was an honest and mature one (notminding ur undertone punch line *showoff*). Whatever! Just like u said, it's a personal thing. Where I have major problem with her is in terms of marriage! She may have problems finding the right one with those exposures (if she doesn't have anyone on ground). As for reaching out to people, to me she is trying too on that...

Your voice no resemble ur written words @ all... you speak well $ sound mature (no silly formings)

    3. MBA! Alex needs to stop laughing too much. The show was extremely boring until Stella started asking questions. Alex was busy counting those that were present. 'Hello, can you hear me? John are you here? Romeo are you here? Stella is here. Is Maxwell here?' . When Stella took over with her questions, I wanted to stand and clap. I love you Stella!

    4. Yeah right.
Looking @stella, u sure know she's mature. More mature for dt matter. Dts y. It baffles me to see or hear or read pple pitch Stella and Linda. Small pikin dey worry them.
Sis u did real good. Wasnt expecting less.

    5. After this interview please decline anymore invitation Stella. Reason is u don't want the "sdk spark" to become diluted and boring. The first one did it for me but I think this second one came too soon. Although I'm yet to listen to the content of this one. You can tell even from the comments here, unlike the first time that everyone was excited that u were a guest on the show. Which I think gave the host a good buzz hence the second invitation. You get my drift don't ya? Will take a listen to this shortly all the same.

  9. The host needs to get herself together

What's with all the laughs and not been coordinated..

She's not even well out together. Asking questions to steer up controversy

And also cutting someone off while in the middle of their speech

    Doppelganger is very patient, wow

  10. Lemme just reserve my comment sha..

Cos if i should completely express myself on how i feel about yesterday's talkshow;i would end up discouraging others from listening..

Dear Alex, only your "FRIENDS" can tell you the truth ooo..so kindly listen to me!
please stop the "Giggling" when you mean serious business..
There is time for everything remember?
Yea i like ladies that have A huge sense of humour about every slightest occurence, but it doesnt mean you have to be laughing like you inhaled nitrous oxide(laughing gas) all the time, please not when real business is on..

Secondly;try to improve on the co-ordination of your show..
know when to ask question, when to listen, when to giggle and when to keep talking..

Im not better myself but this is just A candid advice from someone who doesnt know you personally but wishes you well in your career..

Cos seriously i wasnt impressed with last night's show..but alldsame, you really tried bringing all this people together on one show..

    1. I think she is a happy happy kind of person that laughs all the time.. her laugh can be infectious in an informal kind of setting but not in a show involving other people that want to be heard.

I have wondered if hearing someone from the other end takes a split second to reach her thereby making her go on and on alot..I am judging from the first show though.

@martins the guru, can a delayed frequency(or what do you "techy" people call it) make one talk over the other especially when one is on air and the other is on the telephone?

      Delete
    2. @ iphie;the transmission frequency really matters from the little knowledge i have relating to this..

Cos your transmission rate/level determines how clear the line would be outside there to your listeners, how clear it would also be when "fans" or "listeners" call in from different continent and also how clear the "guest line" would be when you are interracting with any guest On-Air..

  16. We can say all we want but the accomplishment is not whether it sounded perfect or stella sounded good. The anniversary show was about celebrating growth over obstacles. For that Alex should be commended. Hosting a show on our epileptic internet network here in Nigeria itself is a challenge. Hosting live with guests from different countries and timezone is not easy. The conversations were meaningful. that's what we should celebrate and not small mundane issues like cackling or not. I've heard better coordinated programs and they were boring to say the least. Last night was by no means boring. If shes getting all that traffic, she must be doing something right.

    1. Alex, welcome. Better take corrections and get better!

  17. Alex laughs because she has a good heart and good intentions. And the idea of the show is that its unscripted. Just like the early speakers Nina and Maxwell noted at the beginning. I think its genius. Listened to the end. A breath of fresh air from the norm. Not the least bit boring. I like the wackiness of it. Very eccentric.

  20. Damn! Must she always giggle and interrupt callers? She isn't organized and she should stop with those controversial questions. She can meet Linda n ask her what she wants to know about her abeg . Stella you be queen ojare ... I'm done with this naked talk .no grant another one o

  21. Great show. Great Talk. Great Concept. Well done Alex and congrats. One year on internet radio is a big deal dear. Keep it up and up the game, next season.

  22. I don't get u 9ja pipo o. She told u pipo that her show is naked & unscripted, yet una want her to cover it up and script it to be cordiinated. Take a chill pill guys. I read her blog. I know her kind of personality. Shes's a hard working driven lady who loves excellence. So If the show is the way it is, its because its the concept, not a flaw. Babes wey dey wear ripped jeans, know say na design, no be say dem craze wear tear tear. chill small for her. I actually enjoyed listening to it from start to finish. If you want to take some great advice into the new year. Listen from the start. the second half toned down into jokes. Great job Alex. Nice one Stella U both rock.

  23. What controversial questions does she always ask about linda. She never asked about her before wasn't it one of us blog readers here who called before to ask. and I don't think she was being shady or underhanded. How can you discuss accomplishment without asking about people who show off theirs. she only referenced linda's acquisition as an example, and nothing she said was malicious, mean or controversial. so why do guys always make a big deal out of nothing. So doppelganger, does it mean because she cut you off you don't want the giveaway anymore after making a snide remark about her here, be gracious. She may or any of her guests may read the comments. Didn't someone already mentioned that what she heard on air was different from what she was hearing calling in. it shows there's a few minutes delay in feedback. Hence the reason why she sometimes talks over others. Abeg on to the next one. Congrats Alex. Keep doing you gurl.
