Come Friday 18th December, 2015 Abesan Housing Estate will come alive as the residential estate’s maiden edition of her annual youth festival aptly tagged Abesan Youth Festival will kick-starts with a novelty football match.
The youth festival according to the organizers is being packaged to foster unity among the residents of the estate, especially the youths and also to celebrate the yuletide season.
Various activities have been lined up for the one week long celebration, among which is the Gala Dinner and Awards Night where many notable residents and icons who have contributed to the growth of the estate will be honoured, top among which is the former Executive Governor of Lagos State,Alhaji Lateef Jakande.
Other events that will be happening during the one week long festivities include:
Novelty Football Match, Debate and Literary Competition, Beauty Pageant (Miss Abesan), Children’s Funfair / Party, Gala/Awards, Musical Concert, Free Medical Check-ups, Environmental Sanitation, etc.
The Gala Dinner and Awards Night will come up on Wednesday 23rd, 2015 at Amen Events Centre, L/S Bus-stop, Abesan Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.
According to the event’s organizers, “The aim of this festival is to foster unity among the residence, create room for community developments and also showcase the estate in a positive light to the state and the world at large”.
“We are planning the event to address many environmental and social issues the estate is facing aside the entertaining events that will be part of the project”.
“The Festival is targeted at all the estate’s residence irrespective of the age and religion, hence our plan to have diverse events that will cater for all. There are events that will appeal to the old and adults as well as events that will appeal to the kids and young ones”.
The Gala Night will be having Fuji star, Saheed Osupa thrilling the guests. Other artistes that will be performing during the festival include: TeeBlaq, Slyde, DJ Legend, Brain among many others.
The estate is located in the Alimosho Local Government Area and now under the Mosan-Okunola Community Development Authority (CDA).
The event is supported by Ceeway, Mimi Noodles, Globacom, Best among others.
