A day after he killed three people after a drinking spree, the Lagos State Police Command yesterday said plans had been concluded to try and dismiss killer cop, Stephen James....
The trial means the deceased cop, with Force Number: 217884, who was attached to Mopol 22, Oduduwa GRA, Ikeja, would be tried and dismissed even in death.
James who was drunk, was said to have killed three undergraduates before finally killing himself at a pub attached to Paulson Hotel at Anibaba area of Ikosi in Ketu on Saturday.
Speaking on the incident, the state Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, said the killer cop ceased to be a member of the Nigeria Police Force by his callous action, which led to the death of three persons.
He said: “We would try him even in death and dismiss him for his actions. We want to use this medium to sympathise with the families of the deceased.
“We also apologise for the irrational actions of the policeman, who also took his life.”
Also, the state police spokesman, Joe Offor, said the killer cop’s beret, shoes and other accoutrements would be tried in a police orderly room arrangement where sentence would be passed.
With the dismissal, the killer cop would not be entitled to any benefits due policeman who died in active service.
Thisday reportage.
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?...WHO CARES WHETHER THEY DISMISS HIM OR NOT???i am so pissed with this!!!!
Three men have died and now they want to take action on his corpse, what have they done to all the policemen who have killed people in cold blood for no reason and are allegedly being investigated? HELLOO????
what are they doing about power drunk policemen who are still patrolling with loaded guns?
I am not sorry to say this but there is no difference between a Nigerian policeman and an armed robber..NO DIFFERENCE.
Fellow Nigerians, when you see a policeman,he is not your friend, please be careful, there is no difference between a policeman,a moving train without breaks coming your way and an armed robber!
May God give that old woman whose twins were gunned down the strength to carry on.
HISSS @Dismiss in death!
What else? A fb friend posted about the incident 3 days ago sha. I really felt for their mother.
ReplyDelete*Larry was here*
That Hes dismissed means he will not get a dime of his entitlements. I think its fair. Just that its his family that will suffer it sha
DeleteChai...eleyii kii soju lasan...There's more to this 'terrestrial -wise'
DeleteRip to the dead!
This matter cannot annoy u more than me Stella. It's very disturbing and devastating. I wish the bastard didn't die, so that he can be severely dealt with for this dastardly act. I cannot remove the image of that old woman from my subconscious. After all she went tru to raise her only children who were the twins, one nobody of a failed officer just wiped away her joy in one day? I'm fact I feel like asking that his body be re gunned down and fed to the wolves. He won't rest in peace ever.
DeleteI suspect that the hotel that hired him did so without following due protocol. They prolly just tipped their local police station to have him guard the place. How can they even allow him take alcohol whilst on duty? They should share in the blame too. Cos from the report I read somewhere else, they said it wasn't his first time of getting drunk and misbehaving in the area. He should have been dismissed before now. Too sad. Now his family will not get compensated and his entire life in service was a total waste. For that I am happy.
Stella, calm down and rest your nose. What the police force has done is to ensure that his family receives no benefits upon his death. Dismissal does not come with work benefits.
ReplyDeleteWetin Stella dey yarn?
ReplyDeleteAre u expecting them to kill his corpse or what?
The order day I was going on my own when a policeman called me at oshodi,i ignored him at first but immediately I saw his gun, I respected myself and answered him
ReplyDeleteWho wan die
Lmao @who wan die.. Very stupid set of people...
DeleteAll policemen should have their IQs tested for the new year.
ReplyDeleteMtcheeeeeew!
ReplyDeleteMedicine after death.
For the 1st time ever, Stella has said it with no words minced.. This is a failed state with no system that works and possibly the shortest life expectancy in the world.. *Yimu
ReplyDeleteThat's just the bitter truth u just spew!
ReplyDeleteAllah ya sawake!
It's only God that will judge Nigeria police
ReplyDeleteI don't like discussing Nigerian police matter because everything about them disgusts me. I mean everything! May God comfort the family of the innocents.
ReplyDeleteThe hotel and it's staff are culpable and should be tried in a court.
ReplyDeleteThey all know the policeman was a catastrophe waiting to happen and none of them reported him.
May God comfort the woman and grant her peace of mind.
NPF is a disgrace!

Enter your comment...honestly police is not our frends......¤emjay new boo
ReplyDeleteYour comment already explains your choice of a new boo.
DeleteI would say there is no difference between a policeman and untimely death because they find it very easy to bring out their gun to shoot innocent people for no reason. I think it is time the nigerian police get disarmed since they don't know the right people to use their guns on. Just killing innocent citizens that have a bright future for no reason.
ReplyDeleteAmen oh!!!! its d poor woman dat I feel sorry for. Dismiss ko Dismiss ni.
ReplyDeleteSo bad.
ReplyDeleteThe hotel shud be shut down and the DP0 face questions
ReplyDeleteI wonder how they will dismiss someone's corpse. All these police officer acting as if they are high on something... God is watching us all in 3D.
ReplyDeleteIt's so that his family won't keep receiving money from the force, as people who their breadwinner died in active service.
DeleteBut that is a very moot point here.
Tf are they telling us?
So we'll applaud them?
This is just so annoying.
#WhiteDiamondOut
It's the law as with uniformed men, whether dead or alive. They needed to establish this so that in future, his kids or family members will not start to seek his gratuity. If they don't dismiss him legally, albeit in absentia, he would be entitled the benefits even after death. So they did well for posterity.
DeleteSmelling talk. Oro buruku
ReplyDeleteThis is just terrible, I can't imagine what their poor mother must be going through. This is not and will not be the last time a senseless policeman will kill an innocent person.. What have they done about it in the past?? People should try and avoid as little as an argument with an armed policeman, most of them are senseless, frustrated and evil!!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I see a police officer in Nigeria I always see them ad theives, this has been my mindset for many years, once I sight a police officer I see a thief
ReplyDelete*as thieves
ReplyDeleteThey want to dismiss who God had dismissed already!
ReplyDeleteMy uncle,s police officer who was a guard usually goes out at night with his clothes on and a gun, he doesn't go out with his uniform, and he returns the next morning, till the day my uncle found out, obviously he goes to rob
ReplyDeleteDifference between the three :
ReplyDeleteAn armed robber is doing his/her job, which is to rob.
If someone is killed by a robber, it's part of their job.
Though wrong, we all know that it's what they do.
A train without brakes,is an object, which has no mind of it own.
As long as your not on it's path, you'll be fine.
Policemen on the other hand, scum of the earth, despicable creatures, are men, who probably swore an oath, to protect the citizens of their country, but then, turn around, and become cold blooded murderers.
They are self styled executioners, with licenced weapons, who use it without thinking twice, whenever they feel like.
They snuff out lives, without looking back, and they boast about it, knowing nothing will happen.
They are the ringleaders of the crimes they are supposed to fight.
Corrupt pot bellied cowards!
Whenever I see a policeman with a gun, I have a feeling no different from seeing a caged animal.
Evil men!!
Dismiss my ass! And how is that going to bring the young men back?
Mtchewww!
#WhiteDiamondOut
Nigerian police will not cease to amaze me. They didn't even speak about the bereaved poor old woman. Of what use is the dismissal? What's going to happen to the entitlement? If you ask me, all his entitlements should be diverted to the poor woman. That is if some gluttonous ojasope at the top haven't started apportioning the lot.
ReplyDeleteDismiss someone who's already dead??!!! How stupid
ReplyDeleteSo now they want to dismiss dead body....issoriat! so what now happens to the 3persons he killed in cold blood how would they compensate the family?
ReplyDeleteDon't mind dem feeling as I dey re God just bc of uniform. God will deliver us
ReplyDeleteAbeg his entitlement due to him, should be given to dat poor woman.
ReplyDeleteSame thing I was thinking, that poor old women.
DeleteOh my God! This is disheartening. Eternal rest grant unto them oh Lord n let perpetual light shine on them. I feel bad for d parents of these kids. NPF should stop embarrassing themselves cos nothing(purnishment given to d dead police man) can b equalled to d lives of these children. Lord save us or we perish.
ReplyDeleteNPF ndi nzuzu..mtcheww
ReplyDeleteR.I.P to the dead.
**Som Baby**
Hmmmm such a sad incident.
ReplyDelete...tried and dismissed even in death?
ReplyDeleteWhat a joke.
May the policeman's family never know peace in this life and that which is to come.
ReplyDeleteHian! His family members r innocent! Would you like to suffer for the crime your relative committed???
DeletePolice men/women are the biggest problems nigeria have. They have failed us badly. It is shame on the government and the generation that has ruled and is ruling. Our leaders too have failed us too. Shame on them. If its to stop boys walkin on their own nw, dey wud be active. Rubbish police people. That how one nearly pushed a copper to death last week. Foolish police people.
ReplyDeleteStella what are you saying? Lagos state is known to be highly intolerant of cases like this and usually deal with erring policemen swiftly and decisively once they are made aware of the situation. Can't speak for other states though
ReplyDelete*Holds head* Olorun oo
ReplyDelete*teary eyes* @ the sight of those three innocent bodies. May their souls rest in peace.
As for the cop, MAY HE ROT IN HELL. Oloriburuku eyan.
And to the idiots with their mumu jugdement, May God punish U all. AMEN!

ReplyDeleteAwon Ode...I still wonder why they give all dis policemen guns.
ReplyDeleteStella e don tey wen I know that wan, the police is not your friend very heartless folks I hate police. And yes there is no difference between a police man and an arm robber.
ReplyDeleteJan 17 2013 my uncle who came from Yankee was roobed and shot by police men at their checkpoint in ph, because they saw some huge amount of money with him. And no they were not robbers with costumes they were real police men. Thunder fire all of them bastards mtewwew.
True talk at Stella, when I saw this all I could say was unbelievable. Why didn't they caution him when he was alive. This stupid altitude didn't just start, what about his fellow colleagues who have killed and intend killing. They should jail his boots n beret. #Arrant nonsense
ReplyDeleteWhat a tragedy.

They won't try the ones that have killed and still walking freely, it's a dead man they want to try. Nigeria!
ReplyDeleteImagine trying a corpse instead of training the policemen well
ReplyDeleteGod please help your children this killing is too much
ReplyDeleteNigerian policemen are rubbish and blood-tasting devilish people, let them come to western world and see how policemen in uniform behave.
ReplyDeletePoor victims..now his family shall suffer for his callousness..his entitlements should be given to victims family kawai..that was y I did my best to stop my fiance from joining police oo.i hate dem

This is too sad..may the souls of the students rest in perfect peace
ReplyDeleteI feel for his poor wife and kids(if he had any)
ReplyDeleteThe efulefu just wasted his life drinking and has left his family still suffering after his miserable death!
...very selfish man! What beats me is why most Nigerian police men are always drinking or drunk. This is a very sad story.
DeleteSo what happens to the parents of the diseased particularly the mother of the twins who has no one left in this world for her? No husband, no kids. I feel so terrible for her honestly. May God be with her. I hope the police will take full responsibility over her. Sad indeed. May we never experience this in Jesus name. Amen.
ReplyDeleteNiaja na wa.
ReplyDeleteEnd time trial
ReplyDelete...Stun guns/tasers should probably be given to the Nigerian police in place of real ones to avoid all these sad stories. Then again, when I think of the robberies that keep happening, I guess they still need real guns.
ReplyDeleteMay God comfort their mum, how sad!
Honestly I feel for the parents of the victims, just hope the Nigerian police can do something to compensate them.
ReplyDeletePolice and robbers are siblings, RIP to the dead
ReplyDeleteIt is high time to make a law that any police found taking alcohol be dismissed with severe punishment! this madness of police getting drunk and wasting lives or fighting in public like d issue in Festac town months back must stop, this is really sad...wow! Young lives wasted in their prime its really sadden.
