Police Arrest Notorious Armed Robbers in Port Harcourt

The Rivers State Police Command says it has arrested two notorious armed robbers who confessed to have been involved in series of armed robberies and kidnappings in Port Harcourt and environs.

The Police also said the suspected notorious robbers also confessed to the recent gruesome murder of late CSP Clifford Igwegbe, who until his death fortnight ago was the divisional police officer of Rumuokoro Division.

The command in a statement made available to DAILY POST named the arrested suspects as Prince Essien who is thirty years of age, twenty three year-old Hosanna Nse and twenty-seven year old Clever Idaminabor who is believed to be leader of the gang.

One of the robbers, according to the police was fatally wounded in the shootout that ensued when policemen raided their hideout at Location road, Ada George, Port Harcourt.
The command however said it recovered two AK 47 rifles, one assault rifle, one hundred and nineteen rounds of live ammunition and seven magazines.

The command further said it foiled a kidnap attempt on one Ken Livinus at Rukpokwu area of Obio-Akpor “and whisked him away in his Toyota Lexus jeep, teams of policemen quickly responded and pursued the fleeing kidnappers who were heading towards Aluu/Airport road and engaged them. The confrontation led to the safe rescue of the victim while four unidentified kidnappers were fatally wounded. The victim’s vehicle, a Golf Volkswagen car belonging to the kidnappers, three locally made pistols and twelve cartridges were recovered after the rescue operation.

“The Command appeals to the good people of Rivers State to remain hopeful, confident and trusting in the ability of the Command as we are poised to consolidate the gains of the current onslaught on criminals and their nefarious activities,” statement reads.

  14. Many times i dont trust police on suspects cos what they do is to parade some persons as accused for a crime cos the target given to them to capture the perpetrators of such crime is about to elapse and someone need to be used as culprit. They will trick u to confess that u did this and that so as to look for a way to free u and in a long run give them the edge of doing their job well.

Some of these suspects were just caught at igbo joint smoking while others were caught snatching of phones and jewelries, some were even arrested for "wandering" at night, some were arrested when raiding brothels, etc

    1. Thank you.

They do that alot. That's how they arrested my bro and three of his friends from a joint last 2 yes Easter, seized their phones so they won't contact anybody and by the next morning, had called the press for a press conference with the intention of parading them as cultists. Just becoz they were under pressure to arrest as secondary school cultism was on the high rise in Imo then. But these dudes were graduates and even working in other states. Just that one of them cam back from Malaysia and the hang out was to celebrate his return.
Thank God my elder bro had some Godfather connections and was informed in the early hours of the morning so the press conference was stopped . Lack of evidence made them release all within 24hrs.

Police sometimes plants evidence and set up innocent pple. It is well

  19. That Aluu-Airport link road ehn, na only God dey save persons plying that route o. Whether day or night, it's not advisable to use that road at all. The gov't shd hav finished the construction of that road since after the civil war...no be today. And street lights should also be installed there as well. While the police post on that Aluu junction should be equipped properly to deal with the threats the road poses.

  30. Funny enough a lot of the stolen money end up being spent to impress girls and oppress others toiling to make a honest living.

Robbery and corruption will be minimized the day we stop worshipping anybody whose source is not known or genuine. So many thieves all over the place in offices, government, markets, everywhere!

And its even the government thieves that create the environment that breeds these types of criminals. Only a cursed person will steal after getting a good education, employment, housing, good healthcare and a future secured with a good pension or investments. (Wow! That means a lot of our politicians and government people are cur...)

May God help us in this country.
