Nigerian Students Abroad Protest The Ban On The Use Of Naira ATM Cards.

This is the first of the protest that will soon follow if the Nigerian government does not look for an alternative to the restriction placed on the Naira ATM abroad......

I know the government means well but it is wrong for Innocent people to have to pay the price of Looters,it is wrong!
Buhari should take a stand and call them all out and let them pay directly for their crimes or let them go,I hate this tepid water approach abeg!

    1. Everything is Buhari.
He's the CBN governor now. The CBN governor gave a silky excuse.
Before now it's been $300 per day to withdraw.
Do you know long will it take a looter to finish collecting the loot?
Hin go tire sef to withdraw everyday.

      Delete
    12. And even when the money is transferred via form a, it takes 14 days to reflect to the school's account. This is so absurd

      Delete
    13. And the procedure for using the form a for money transfer is very long as it takes 14 days before the money leaves the account and reflects into the school's account. This is so ABSURD!

    1. Visa and Mastercard have pulled out of Nigeria which is why the international service is no longer available. Nigerian banks owe them billions. They charge customers for using the cards but do not remit the service providers. This has nothing to do with Buhari. We will soon hear names of those in GEJs govt that stole these billions.

      Delete
    2. Hell no!! This is highly political. If Buhari didn't tighten up dollars, how on earth do you want banks to get money to credit visa/ MasterCard. Note that these banks settle these card companies in dollars; same dollar that is not in circulation. I hope you now understand that it's a boomerang effect. If dollar is pumped in, the banks will have funds to settle these card companies cos for every international transaction, these card companies settle on behalf of the banks and den pass the debit later to banks to remit the funds back to them in naira.

    3. Banks have been owing these fees for years now so how does Buhari come in?

  7. Uzu, am a nurse and I can tell you, God bear me witness, I have encountered hundreds of women who want to go under the knife and syringes to get family planing. I don't know if its fear of annoying the husband, inferiority towards the man or wanting to show the man you are 'mumushly' respectful, or showing that she is solely the cause of birthing kids here and there, thereby drawing the gossips, shame and laughs from the public alone. I bet some bvs even mock such women. The average Nigeria woman will even remove her womb for no reason other than it was requested by her husband to stop child birth while the man flirts with womb embodied women whose ox and womb clevage sweetens the p*nis tip.

A woman I chatted with about two years ago at the clinic said she doesnt know what family plan to take again. The tube tied got inflamed with infection permiting its loosening hence baby girl number 7! She has equally taken injection 1,2,3 months plan it didnt work. I adviced that she talked to her husband to do sterilization she said he will not oh that he even warned her that if she doesnt stop birthing kids he'll run away that after the fourth child he warned her to stop.

  15. Exactly

People will come here and rent about how it will help the economy but the truth is its not going to help any economy at all

It would make the cost of things in the market very high.
It would increase black market rate, we know banks don't give out dollars unless thru form m. So 80% of Nigerians get money from black market

Small business people who are trying to survive will go broke because they won't be able to pay for things anymore

    Students abroad would starve

All because of mistakes of people they can track and ask them to remit what they stole

Why put the whole nation in a state of trouble, that would solve problems temporary not permanently

That's how they said not paying in dollars in to Dom account will help the economy and naira but naira keeps depreciating

All they are doing now is trial and error

I love Buhari, I want him to succeed and make this country great again but please can he warn the central bank governor?? If he can't carry out his responsibilities let him step down for someone with better plan to step in

  22. Oh Lordy,
I feel sorry for Nigerians trapped overseas.
Some students even use their parents cards to withdraw so I can imagine the shock right now.

Recently, some bank cards were suspended in China and Dubai because of card frauds(sorted out now)... ordinary business men and women keep paying for the greed of others.

You cannot even withdraw your dollars or pounds from your Dom account. You will be paid in naira.

Can't buy BTA or PTA easily.

Cannot pay in your FX into a bank here in Nigeria.

Western union has a threshold daily, you can't transfer a certain amount.

I am sure FG and the CBN governor are working to see a way around this come Jan 2016.
Godwin Emefiele is a brilliant chap.

People can't travel with more than 5k dollars

One can't use their naira card abroad

    And we want investors? !

How are they suppose to invest please?? How are they supposed to get their money back??

It's not possible not to trade with other countries?!

I'm ranting because I know Alot of SME who buy things online and see in Nigeria to fend for themselves

Those blaming Buhari, is he the Finance Minister?
The fact that the CBN governor is practicing trial and error doesn't mean Buhari gave him that order.
The likes of Galore keep cussing when it comes to Buhari 's matter, weda na dude abi na babe , you gotta learn to be patient, as Yoruba say a pe ko to je, ko le je baje. 29. I was Buhari's no1 fan, I even voted for him for the first time I ever voted in my life. But this suffering in this country is becoming too much. All they do is blame Jonathan. Is Jonathan also the cause of dem doing this Credit card restriction. I travel soon, I don't even know what to do. Banks are not doing PTA, also restriction on that. Am I to go to mallam dat may give me fake dollars. I haven't bout from mallam in ages, use to do PTA, den after started using my card. Pls President Buhari d suffering you are causing the masses is just too much. Majority of us on dis blog are atleast comfortable. If you know what d average man is growing thru. I met an old man recently at d hospital, he cuts job dere but has worked wit govt for 20yrs.He spoke with so much pain, dat all day his been waiting for alert, nothing. Dat he already promised kids to take them to Mr Biggs for Christmas, ordinary mr Biggs oh, dat one is turning 10. But as it is no alert, they can't go. Smone know asked why he didn't bring his car. He said car he has sold since. That he has to pay school fees January. I felt sad for d man, I just gave him 3k he shld use it to buy smthn small for d kids. Pres Buhari I don't really care weda dis is Jonathan's fault or even Tafawa Balewas fault. Pls dis suffering you are puttn us thru is much. We can't be suffering for d sins of d politicians and super rich bcos dey are abusing d credit cards.

  31. Stella what has thieving politicians got to do with this policy? What has Buhari got to do with this? Biko enlighten me! is Buhari the CBN governor?.
This CBN took this measure simply to control the dollar demand! Na monetary policy to strengthen the naira.
BTW, other measures were also taken like blocking payments to foreign websites, and others.
Point is, the CBN the autonomous arm of government in charge of monetary policy is simply trying to shore up the nations currency, The Naira.
P.S these measures are for the short term, and politicians who loot public funds move such funds to tax havens where they wind as investment portfolios.

  32. When the First Lady said only seven persons shared more than three trillion naira my first reaction was thank God they now know the looters but of cause no names were named. Why make everyone else suffer for these few elites? Pls somebody help me with answers before Apc supporters come under my comment to tell me my life history which they seem to know more than me.

For those of you asking why President Bubu should be blamed for this. Are you not Nigerians?Have you forgotten quickly how GEJ was blamed for everything that happened in this country during his tenure?Even when people's toilet refused to flush,GEJ was blamed.President Buhari should be ready for all this & more,he should also be ready to motivate those he has appointed to take up various responsibilities,to provide solutions to problems and not continue this stupid & idiotic blame game.
All this corruption talk is really becoming annoying. Too much talk & no action.I bet in few months time,we won't hear anything different from what we are hearing now, afterall they are all politicians.Na siddon look me dey sha.
