Movie Producer EMEM ISONG Premieres Youth Empowerment Film Project ‘Spotlight’

Nollywood turned out last Friday (December 4, 2015) for the premiere of SPOTLIGHT, one of the latest productions of renowned Nollywood producer, Emem Isong Misodi. The premiere took place at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The glamorous event was graced Desmond Elliott, Susan Peters, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Adesua Etomi, Oyekunle Oluwaremi (aka Kunle Remi), Juliet Eche, and many others.
The film, SPOTLIGHT, is part of a youth empowerment initiative of the renowned producer, and it features several students from her film academy, Royal Arts Academy. The film also has guest appearances by Desmond Elliott, Omoni Oboli, Segun Arinze, OC Ukeje, and Bolanle Ninalowo. Set in the make-believe world of Spotlight Acting Academy, the film follows the adventures of three students of the academy, as they struggle to realize their dream of becoming successful Nollywood actors.

The film was very well received by the premiere audience, and many are describing it as one of the best films that Nollywood has ever produced for young people. It will be released in cinemas across Nigeria in the first quarter of 2016, and it is expected to be a hit.

Also at the premiere, Emem Isong Misodi doled out N900,000 in cash prizes to winners of a short film contest, which she organized for students of her academy. The first prize of N500,000 went to Smart Nsikan for the short film, 'Two Chicks and a Dude.' The second prize of N250,000 went to Ikechukwu Akanno for the short film, 'Hot Soup.' The third prize of N150,000 went to Onyeka Emechebe for the short film, 'Our Girls.' According to the producer, the short film contest is part of her Spotlight youth empowerment initiative, and it will be a yearly affair.

    1. Nice event. Lady in Black killed it. Didn't you say you are now a VLOGGER? Looks like that is too hard unlike the cut and Paste from tmz, daily mail, Perez Hilton, Bossip and so on? It's not too hard to put your mouth into the speaker and talk or maybe it is? Carry go and make sure in your sister's words you shower all dey. Stella gets her news from the horse' mouth not cut and paste. She also doesn't display her shower and so on. No stalkers in her house. Wait a minute, looks like the wrong blog. It's my friend that's setting me up here, I am computer illiterate. No more typing anymore. Lara why now?

  11. That lady in blue gown.. it's nt compulsory to wear dresses to a movie premiere. She doesn't have a nice figure.. no she's not fat.. but her figure isn't a nice one either. Many of us have this type of shape.. big up and small down. And the more u try to loose weight, the down keeps getting smaller while ur up really never reduces. She shudnt wear such dresses with her figure. A short gown wud have been better sef.. this gown jst brought out the not so gud figure. And no, am not hating.. I have same figure as her.. and I knw wat goes with such figure.

    1. Not really. Susan Peters has always had serious eyebags. I think hers is genetically endowed. Cucumber cant do anything to reduce hers. Maybe her makeup is quite much. When its less, she can look better.
