The Court of Appeal in Owerri has sacked the governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu.
The court upheld the verdict of the tribunal, which earlier ruled in favour of Alex Otti of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The respondents, Okezie Ikpeazu, and PDP had gone on appeal against the decision of the Tribunal that all preliminary objections shall be taken along with the substantive petition.
A total of three motions were presented to the court by the plaintiff.
Two of the motions were discarded by the court, and the court proceeded on just one motion.
Developing story.....
culled from dailypost.
Na wah....This is serious,so nah to pack load now or what?please somebody explain this...So Otti is now the governor or do they have to go to another court?
End time verdict. Supreme Court to the rescue.

ReplyDeleteThe matter continues to the Supreme Court. Alex Otti is now de jure governor . However lets see how d Supreme Court would decide the matter.
Na wa!!
ReplyDeleteAt last! Am so happy for Otti. 2016 will be a great year for my state Abia, God has finally delivered us from the hands of T. A. ORJI and PDP (NDI OHI VOTE).
ReplyDeleteOh no!
ReplyDeleteI liked this man as governor o.

His daughter was transferred from ABSU, to another university in the east, before the elections for her safety and when he won, he quietly uprooted her again, to continue abroad.
And all the security measures for nothing.

ReplyDeleteHehe hehe God has started giving some families new year gift already. Congratulations to the new governor, sorry to the old governor that was never sworn in so
ReplyDeleteAll I want is visible change not mouth change.
ReplyDeleteOff to the Supreme Court!
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about legal matters but Ikpeazu may want to go to the apex court - The Supreme Court which is the LAST and FINAL bus stop for judicial matters. If he does and the supreme court rules in favour of Alex Otti, na AU REVOIR be that for Ikpeazu.
ReplyDeleteThe funny thing is, I was just thinking about Alex Otti and his governorship ambition yesterday only for me to see this. The mind is POWERFUL!
In the beginning.
ReplyDeleteIt only in nigeria, person will govern unlawful for years, and move on without any consiquences
Interesting development, I hope the change is worth it.
ReplyDeleteWahoo my former ceo fighting doggedly. All the best sir
ReplyDeleteFinally justice has prevailed cos otti won hands down and pdp rigged stupidly.
ReplyDeleteTo God alone be the glory
Hehehehe am so happy oo!
ReplyDeleteYels, ABIA NEEDS CHANGE!
ReplyDeleteNEW YEAR NEW GOVERNOR.
Too bad for okezie
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to Governorship election petition the Court of Appeal is the Court of last jurisdiction. This is the end for Ikpeazu he cannot appeal to the Supreme Court on this matter.
ReplyDeleteAre u sure?
DeleteJust found out that he can appeal at the Supreme Court.
ReplyDeleteBut the uncertainty of the ruling up there, will be enough to give him hbp sef.
I hope he goes to the Supreme Court though.
