If they have staff 'disappearing' passengers luggage for personal gain,they should handle this situation because what happened to this blog visitor is unfair...Cant deal!

I flew Dana Air on the 16th of October 2015 from Abuja to Lagos with their 5:28pm flight which was obviously delayed and we ended up leaving Nnamdi Azikiwe international Airport Abuja around 7pm. When it ws time for me to identify my luggage during boarding, I noticed one of my luggage which is an artistic painting that is glass framed had been broken and shattered despite the FRAGILE tag on it.
I got angry and pissed but one of their staff at the Tarmac called me aside and apologized,whic I decided to be reasonable and told her it was ok.
Meanwhile,I ws already thinking of how I will have to change the glass frame once I get to Lagos.
She gave the frame to another staff to keep it inside the aircraft where fragile luggage are kept.
I boarded and we got to lagos but the worst happened. I couldn't find my already shattered glass frame. I told the other staffs bringing out luggages and was told to speak to one of the security guys on duty. I met one and spoke to him, he told me he will go check it out but left me @ the airport for over an hour and disappeared.
It was about 9:30pm, I was still at the airport and didn't know what to do. I told one of the airport security officers who sent another security man to go and look for the Dana security man, but he was nowhere to be found. So I left the airport.
On Tuesday 20th October 2015 on my way back to abuja I decided to lay my complaint at Dana desk at the airport. I was directed to one Mr Femi who took my flight details and said he was going to do something about it and will get back to me as soon as possible.
On arrival to abuja I met Dana manager Mr Fred and also complained to him, he took my details and even collected my baggage claim ticket for the abuja to Lagos flight and said he will do something about it and call me, so I left. Imagine still having my baggage claim tickets with me until the time I got back to abuja, which means a passenger can actually collect another passengers luggage and leave and DANA security men won't even know about it.
I have been calling both Femi in Lagos and Fred the manager in abuja but nothing yet. I called Mr Fred in abuja on Friday, he told me my luggage has been found only to call me 5mins later that it was a mistake and my luggage hasn't been found.
Till today I haven't heard from any of the people I spoke with about my missing luggage that was shattered by one of the DANA staffs. I took out time to narrate this because, I want people to understand and know how calm i've been about this and it seems they have decided to take my calmness for stupidity. I know my luggage is as good as gone. It's only in Nigeria that things like this happens and the airline goes free.
I can decide to sue them but I won't do that, and I can decide to make trouble and ask for monetary compensation but I won't do that either. I just want to air my view so people can know what DANA AIR did to me because I know I can't see my luggage anymore. And things like this must have happened to several other people.
People should beware of DANA AIRLINE because its obvious they don't have the interest of their customers at heart.
N/B: The mistake I made was to give the manager,Mr Fred my baggage claim when I came to abuja to lay my complain to him. Because I had baggage claim of all my 3 luggages though it's just one am looking for.He asked for them, saying he needed the information on it to track the luggage. I never knew they were not to be trusted, and I gave it to him. So as it is now, I don't have my baggage claim anymore.

He calls the customer care number online and it was switched off... he persists and finally got them.
The lady sounded very non-chalant and still didn't solve his problem.
He calls the following day and I told him to intimate subtly that he is headed for twitter... lmao! The booking reference etc was sent to his e-mail addy as he was on that call,you see?
What am I saying? Nigerian airlines and other service providers lack excellent customer service. They are rude,never follow up with your complaints,never solve your problems and will hardly do swift reparation when they commit errors.
Did she get the name of the customer care representative?...forward the person's name lemme report him or her...
DeleteAir peace did same to me. I booked my tickets on line, waited for them to contact me after payment, no show! Called their yeye customer service line tire. They kept putting me on hold. I jejelly carry my fat yansh go meet them for their airport stand to collect my print out.

DeleteI have flown Airpeace severally and can attest that they and Medview are the best now. My flight has never been delayed with both Airlines. The only issue with Medview is that if you are flying the last flight from Enugu to Lag, you are likely to get to PH first before going to Lag.

Airlines have ways of sorting issues, people should learn some of that. Read the baggage compensation policies on different convention.
