Man Cries ''My Father Said He Saw My Wife With Another Man In A Hotel''

A 31-year-old husband, Mr Femi Fajuyi, on Tuesday approached an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court seeking dissolution of his 12-year-old marriage to his wife, Dupe, over alleged adultery.

Femi, who resides at Ita-Eku, off Ado-Ekiti Local Government Secretariat, told the court that he warned his wife against any relationship with his brother’s wife, but she failed to heed his warnings.

The plaintiff, also a father of three, alleged before the court that his brother’s wife was introducing his wife to different men. He said that his wife was in the habit of leaving the house and would not return there for days.

According to him, ''there was a day my father told me that he saw my wife with another man coming out from a hotel''.

Femi said that after then, he told his wife to pack out of his house and she did. He prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and award him the custody of the three children. But the respondent, Dupe, 27, denied the allegations levelled against her, saying her husband wanted her to relocate to his family house, but she refused.

She said that her husband would abandon her and the children for several days without bothering about their welfare. Dupe said that she never patronised any hotel as alleged by her husband; adding that she had to relocate to her aunt’s house when she had a quarrel with her husband. She said that when she returned to her matrimonial home, her husband beat her, broke one of her legs and packed out her belongings.

“I told my husband that I can no longer live in his parents’ house, because they are the cause of our problems, but my husband refused to listen to me, “she said. Dupe said that her husband got married to another woman barely a month after she left his house who took custody of her children.
She, therefore, prayed the court to grant her the custody of the children namely: Favour, 10, Lekan, 8, and Precious, 3, years respectively. The President, Mrs. Foluke Oyeleye, after hearing from the parties adjourned the case to Nov. 9 for judgment.

    1. Seconded! Not a new thing that a typical yoruba woman will leave her home to another man's place and won't get back for days. When she finally returns, husband will do nothing. When I say typical, I mean the likes of iya beji, iya salau, iya baraka, iya wale, and all the iya etc.

  17. I did the age calculations too! Someone must be making things up or they're illiterates and don't even know their exact ages. All these Yoruba men just dey fall hand anyhow sha. I'm Yoruba by the way, in case anyone wants to start throwing daggers. He probably wanted to marry a new wife and wanted to punish 1st wife for disobeying his command to continue livinging in his parents' house. To even think he's also from that side - ondo/ekiti. The stories of those men and the way they treat their wives sometimes is nothing to write home about even compared to the other chauvinist attitudes of the rest of the country men. I know because I'm from Akure. It is the truth. instead of junping at people's throats for stating the obvious, you guys should start treating your wives like the jewels that they are and let people carry you news about those good things too, abeg. Enough agro from the men from that side joh!

    1. There is no way the man is right. How can a man marry and keep his wife with his parents. This is wicked, no matter their income, he can at least afford one room. his father might be a liar. When family members get involved in a marriage, it gets messy. And I still don't support separating mother and child for anything, every child deserve the care of their own mother if the woman are not harming them. Only few women can train another's child, the rest use them as house helps. I hate men like this.

  27. I'm sure they got themselves pregnant at a very young age judging from their present age and as a result were forced to get married. This language people are so useless. The men don't cater for their wives and children and the women in turn cabinet around to survive while doing a small business on the side.

  29. Their minds are shrouded by ignorance. They married young, no experience what so ever on how to handle other relationships without getting into trouble eg adultery OR flirting without knowing the consequences.
Ignorance! Na him go just scatter the marriage. 'Cause it will be he say, she say. She did this, he did that too. They will just be going round & round till the counselor sef go tire.
Well I wish them reconciliation, make children no suffer, by leaving with one uncle & aunt u to the next.

  30. At first was in support of the man, until I saw the woman's points. They are very young, and still inexperienced. Divorce is not the way out because it's the children that will suffer. They need counselling, and guidance from time to time. And every thing will fall back in place.

  31. 12years ke? So he was 19 and she was 15 wen they got married, y won't they have problems in their marriage wen they were kids wen they got married, they don't know the value of marriage

    ReplyDelete
  32. Its possible o, Yoruba people can marry early, even when they don't have any money. They'll not take care of the woman, and the woman sef will be happy to be in a man's house forming wife. Mtchwwwwww

    ReplyDelete
  33. Marriage wahala everywhere. I dont know why a man will not leave his father's house and go and stay with his wife. Causing problems everywhere.

I know the man dont want to spend money on rent. Typical yoruba man and dont want to buy food for his family, leaving his father to be feeding his wife and children.

    May God help couple.
