Kogi APC Nominates Audu’s Son As Governorship Candidate‏

Ehen?

Leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC), in Kogi East Senatorial District have nominated Mr Mohammed, 43, first son of Late Prince Abubakar Audu, to replace him as the party’ s governorship candidate.

The leaders, stakeholders and delegates who made this known in Lokoja on Thursday after a marathon meeting, said they arrived at the decision after due consultations .
Their spokesman, Mr Daniel Isah, the Vice Chairman of APC in Kogi East, said they have resolved and are determined to back Mohammed to replace his father if the National Working Committee orders fresh primaries.

Isah thanked the Independent National Electoral Commission and the national leadership of the party for the opportunity given to them to find a replacement for Audu who died on Nov. 23 at Ogbonicha, Ofu Local Government.

He appealed to the national leadership of the party to give their decision utmost consideration and approval in the overall interest of the party and the state.

Present at the meeting were Alhaji Lincho Ocheje, Hon. Hassan Omale, Hon. Benjamin Ikhani, and Sen. Emmanuel Dangana, among others.

*So the governorship position is now hereditary?ISSORAI....

    5. Very stupid thing to even think of. So, if he was already a gov for just a day and dies then they will just hand over governorship to his son? Doesn't he even have a running mate? This is supposed to be a condolence gift for his son abi?
Oya nau, let the children of politicians start killing their parents so that they will have auto position. Good thing is that atleast that way we will atleast have young leaders. Audus son is 48, and people are still pointing accusing fingers at a suspect in "poisoned death".... like as he died now, he died early. what is even the life expectancy in Nigeria? Heard it is forty something meaning that even if this his son dies now, he didn't die early.
Anyways, I hope this one is not one of the rapists cos I will join sugabelly in her prayers ooooo.

    9. We all know how politics is played, mostly based on loyalty. I guess this is a sign of the APC's loyalty to Audu. Or it could be that they picked his son to debunk the rumour making rounds that the APC leader, Tinubu, had a hand in Audu's death. The accusation that he used Audu to pave way for his (Tinubu's) candidate who was his deputy has now become immaterial.

Or it could just be that Kogi people are in love with the man and anyone from his household would suffice. Just maybe.

I guess the INEC man was inform about his death before that declaration so he made that pronouncement just because a Yoruba man that they considered as minority ethnic group in the state to rule. INEC compromised and this is unfortunate, they are all citizen but of that state. The Okuns too must rule Kogi.

  43. I am ashamed of being Nigerian
We behave like something is wrong with the black man
Shouldn't he be mourning his father or somethimng
    Is politics hereditary, is it??
Isn't there a due process or law or something
Oh yes, power hungry genes are hereditary
We are not angry at all, that is why our politicians are not ashamed

    If Sugabellys account is true
    She was abused you dumbheads
It is something deeper than being raped
    It is sexual slavery
Same way we ask why domestic violence victims stay and not speak out
Cos of fear and intimidation, fear and inferiority
They keep hoping their husband or boyfriend will change
She consented to sex with her boyfriend, for the orgies she was FORCED and PSYCHED
And so called boyfriend shouldn't have sex with a minor!
As a child she didn't know any better
Its a rape of the mind and psyche
A 17year old cannot consent to sex
Even if she begs and cries for it, you don't oblige her
Try that in america you WILL BE JAILED
What they did to her (rape and abuse) is a criminal offence
THat is punishable by law in any sane country
    Except Nigeria
Where the society will blame her
The victim is always blamed and stigmatized
While the rich culprit get away

Pls you guys, let us be the generation that speaks out against rape, abuse and patriarchy
Let us not let rapists win, no matter how highly placed
Everyday there is a rape story in the news and nobody is jailed
Fathers raping daughters, lecturers raping students, uncles raping their relatives
    IT IS WRONG!!! period
Even on this blog ive read so many rape/abuse stories under anonymous
Let us not speak in a way that will make our sons and brothers think that to rape a woman is ok, or that it is the woman's fault - it never is
    No, RAPE is not ok
It is never the woman's fault, NEVER
Let us not stifle the voices of women who are bold enough to speak out
Let us not shut them up
Cos when we do we are just like the rapists, who give reasons for their acts

  44. Stella the issue of this Audu Abubakar son is been over flogged. Let's look at it from another angle. He has invested so much in the Governorship elections and I want to believe that is son is also a card carrying member of the Apc, moreover he was involved in his father's political career. At, 43 i think he's man enough. Looking at it from a spiritual angle i believe there's an Obedeodem God wants to Bless. One strange name we never hear wey no buy party ticket abi campaign. Lord who will not fear you!

May God bless you for this write up,may He use your words of wisdom to open the eyes of the blind who blame victims of rape instead of the culprits, the fact that Audu's son's name was involved in allegations of rape alone is itself enough for him to not run for public office (in saner climes) to add insult to injury why cant the deputy governor replace Audu? isn't that what the constitution says? Why is Kogi state being turned into a family business? Are the people of Kogi State blind, deaf & dumb? Is this the change APC promised us? Why are we like this in Nigeria? No money anywhere,no fuel anywhere,no employment anywhere,no investors, nothing! I pray the new year will yield results because Nigerians are tired of empty promise and backwardness!
