INDUCTION
Hello Stella,please i need mothers and doctors opinion on this..I am 41 weeks pregnant with no sign of labour,my doctor wants to book me for induction but am a bit worried because i was induced at 38 weeks for contraction but it failed.
He said he will insert a catheter with the prostaglandins this time and if it doesn't work,will do a Cesarean section.Please has anyone experienced this before?
Just do a CS and get it done with, must u push, Nigerian women too like stress abeg.

That was exactly what happened to me,i was waiting to "push"and was willing to wait until the doctor told me my baby was losing breath,na there my eyes clear,fiam,na CS I later do ooo,cos I wouldn't forgive myself if I had lost my baby after the whole 9 month course.

i was 42wks without labour signs, induction was advised n d doc said it was 50/50. i asked wt would he advise his wife n he said c/s. ijust told him to cut me up. almost due again n im opting 4 cs. dem no dey giv award for pushing.

DeleteMarian, I am sure you have never gotten pregnant and that's why you run your mouth all you want. Ladies like you be deceiving people with the Hebrew women ish. Poster: CS a crime and the earlier you have that baby the better. It will be worse if the baby gets stressed. If I were you, I wouldn't bother on how the baby comes out, but will be more bother on the well-being of my baby. Have a safe one.

You are pretty (if dat is ya pix) regardless, learn to see yourself through God's eyes and embrace Jesus. Stop the messed up confession. Find positive things to say about yourself, so that good will define you, or do you wanna remain messed up? You can if you want to.
DeleteMadam please RUN to the hospital for the induction, there is no harm on it, Your baby is due and if you don't take time, Aminiotic fluid will enter inside your baby's brain and it will cause another big Problem for Your baby. Please RUN back to the hospital ASAP. Wishing you Safe delivery. Talking from Experience

MaDam pls go for CS, I wonder why Nigerian women are still scared of CS in 2015. Pls adhere to what doctors have advised you. Lazy person like me, if it was possible sef I will request for CS for all my delivery. Pushing scares me.

my dear,opt for CS pronto.my doctor induced after i was past my due date for my first baby but i wasnt dilating even with cathethar and all and he immediately told me my options since both me and baby were okay.it was later discovered dat my pelvic is narrow and babies are usually big.so cs all d way for me.no nid to stress urself or bebe. CS no be disease. goodluck dearie.
ReplyDeleteHello there. As a medical professional i will tell you that your doctor is completely honest with you. But are you honest with him? Induction is the best line and if it fails then proceed to CS. Why i ask if you are honest with your doctor is if you have told him how badly you want to have the child. Social need can sometimes help with the chosen course of treatment. If for instance conception was by IVF, you would not risk induction. If its your first child, you will need to decide whether to go for a less stressful CS or an induction?. Pls communicate your fears, hopes and aspiration with your doctor and seek for a second opinion if need be. all da best. Remember if for induction, it is already past date and now a high risk pregnancy so induction should be under electronic foetal heart rate monitoring. Its readily available in Nigeria. Be aware.

What if she cannot afford cs? Do you know how expensive the procedure is considering the present economic situation in the country. All fingers are not equal. There must be a way out before considering cs. Doctors get in here pls.

Madam Pls go n do CS. Humm u have power o 41 weeks. Once am 37 weeks body don dey site me nt to talk of 40 weeks. I have pushed two babies. This one Dr alrdy told me we might v CS I told my hubby we r prepping for it. See me dey happy say no pushing.

DeleteNot always. Tet and take your pain killers. On the first day try and start encouraging yourself move a little. The longer you stay without moving the harder it becomes. NA
DeleteUr Dr should start u wth 2 doses of cytotec at 4 hrs interval before using the catheter, u will dilate n push ur baby, well that's only if the hospital hav all d equipment to monitor the baby, his breathing n ur contractions. If not, abeg just enter theatre do CS bring out d baby
ReplyDeleteI feel for you dear...carried my boy for 41weeks 5days,was not easy at all.I was booked for an induction but labor started that same day.Nne begin fuck wella o,it really helped my mucus to come out and pray too.Wish u safe delivery
ReplyDeleteDuring pregnancy, my bp was shooting up so wen I was 37wks my gynae advised DAT he delivers me since we have bn able to manage n got to 37wks. On d agreed day, catheter was instered around 6pm but it didn't fall off n there was no labour even till d end of d next day. On d third day at about 4am d tablet was inserted but labour was slow. Hot drip was given but labour didn't get to 4cm and I was even sleeping in labour rm. Then d doc told my dat d only option left is CS, he filled form n I quickly signed n off we went to theatre. Today my baby is 6wks n 2days. So act wisely before u loose d baby. Mrs O

DeleteI faced the same issue.... Got to 41wks,no sign of labour. I was induced in d night, by 11am d following morning I was fully dilated. Tried to push d baby out for 4hrs bt cud nt cos I was so weak. Had to hv emergency cs. Due to d ordeal, my baby was blue n nt breathing wen he was brot out. Bt wt God's help n d expertise of d doctors, all went well. I can never thank God enough!

ReplyDeleteMadam poster,i can understand your fear.But to be realistic u are stressing urself.According to you,you ve done a c/s in ur previous pregnancy due to a failed atempt.What makes u feel it will work this time?Am sure ur Dr mtust have told u the need for a c/s and u now chosed the next option which is induction.And i want to let you know dat going for an induction is a wrong choice.By the time the induction falls,you will go for a c/s and dat will be going through double stress.Meanwhile you are already 41wks and your baby is already at risk and passing through induction is another risk to the baby especially if its a baby boy 'cos they cant stand stress like girls.In as much as c/s is costly,we still need to consider the baby.Pls run along and have ur baby.Congratulations.
