Doctors In House Section.

God is good oh!

HEALTH ISSUE
i have a health issue bothering me. My period. its late, like 17 days late. my last period was on the 24th of September and usually my cycle is between 29-32 days.
I've done a pregnancy test at home and its negative, i talked to a doctor friend of mine who asked me to go to hospital and have a blood test, possibly a scan as this would show the result as early as even 6 days. i did so, and the test result is NEGATIVE.

my days usually fluctuate, but not as late as this. At first i suspected i could be pregnant cause of the events that happened last month. but the results keep coming negative. I don't have any signs of being pregnant,no sore breast, nothing at all,yet its not coming. i'm very very  worried. The doc said i'll have to go for hormone access or something, (the medical jargon too much)

Please is there any person(s) who have had such experience before. I need your suggestions cause i'm getting more worried by the day.
My mum is exaggerating the problem and said i need to tackle it now that i'm still single before i get married and start telling stories. ( its not my portion)

Please i need to know if someone somehow has walked this road before, help me with your experiences

Thanks a bunch.

    1. You need to go for either hormonal profile or mestrual profile test. Then visit a gyno with the result. You might be placed on Primonult-N or Daphaston tablet. Primonut controls excess bleeding and corrects your hormons while Daphaston does same but helps you to ovulate incase you aren't ovulating. If you aren't married stay off men while treating yourself cos anything can happen. Good luck to you.

  20. I just laughed soon as I read this, combined with queen of this blog comment. Nawa o, poster what events happened last month??? I was hoping you will be married so sdk bvs no go abuse u with that comment, but ur not. On a serious note, I hope you are not one of dos ladies that take postinor like they are taking Panadol. Its one of the things I know that messes up your menstrual days. Do you take other drugs etc daily birth control pills? it could be a cause. All these things affect your hormones.
If it doesn't come, pls see a gynaecologist so you wont start having problems with ovulating and conception when you get married.

  22. Yes, I have worked down dis road before. Mine was for 3months without doing menstruation. @ first, hubby thot I was pregnant, did series of test which came out negative. Was advised by d doc to go for hormonal imbalance test; and Na plenty money e cost, didn't go for it and I thank God d menses came on its own. Will advice you to go for pelvic scan, it could be ovarian cyst. It is well my dear

  23. Please do what your Doctor says. I used to have the same issue of Irregular period....Mine would even cease for 3 months or more. My mother gave me advise then to go check it but I refused. I was rushed to the hospital in September after a severe tummy ache... I found out I had Ovarian cyst which was taken out in September and since then my period has been regular.

  32. Go for a hormonal assay test, it's hormonal imbalance and your prolactin level may be high. Don't panic quickly go for the test so that you can be treated.

  33. My dear, if u are sure u don't have an infection, then there's no need to worry. It's probably due to hormanal imbalance which will balance up wit time or drugs culd b given. See ur doc. Anywayz, my case is a special 1...I'v had irregular menstruatn since I was 18, tot it'ld affect my fertility. Now I'm married and pregnant at 26. So, no worries dear.

  40. Infections generally do not cause skipped periods, stop misinforming the poor girl.

At original poster, did you take the morning after pill? (This can delay your period by as much as 2 weeks/disrupt your cycle. It's happened to people I know). Have you been stressed of late or any significant changes in your diet/exercise routines etc? (Stress can inhibit or delay ovulation which will manifest in a skipped/missed period). It might also be related to PCOS (but you'd have to visit a gynaecologist to receive an official diagnosis). I wouldn't worry about it...most women on the occasion miss a period or two. Just observe your symptoms and if you miss ANOTHER period ie miss two periods in two cycles, visit a doctor to receive further information.

  41. It could be PCOS. Go to a gyn for an official diagnosis.
