Hi Stella,
Hmmmm my story is complicated. I met this friend of mine 6 years ago in church. We had a very funny meeting. Fast forward we became close, hang out, gist, I was in uni he was working in d town I schooled in. I had a bf he was single, I knew he liked me but he always respected my space cos of my bf. After uni I went back to my parents house but whenever I came to my uni town we always hung out, I went for service in Abuja, we were still very close but I realised something during service.
I started having feelings for him, by this time he had had a gf for like a year, however we were still close and my bf accepted him as my friend. I started thinking about him A LOT!
.....Not about sex mind you but about a possible relationship, what it would feel like to kiss him... stuff like that but I locked up all these feelings, whenever I stop in his town I breeze in at his office to say hi and leave, if he came to my town I'd lie that I'm not around or I'm busy, I didn't want to be alone with him cos of how I felt for me. Long story short he proposed to his gf early this year after 3yrs of dating I was happy for him but I kinda felt jealous I wouldn't lie about that. Mind you I'm still dating my boyfriend.
Sometime last month I was just too emotional dunno what came over me and I told him how I had/ have feelings for him and all he was shocked then angry telling me how he liked me but I kept flinging my bf in his face bla bla bla. We start talking about our feelings for each other I told him I love him. Now whenever we talk it's about our feelings, I've been feeling bad cos I wouldn't want my bf to talk like this with another girl talk.
I'm extremely possessive.
So I ask this friend if he loves me he says he can't answer that question now cos it's complicated and he would start questioning himself and I totally understand but still a can of worms has been opened and I feel terribly bad.
I know nothing can come out of this twisted relationship but I honestly have feelings for him and at the same time I love my bf die Lool .

ReplyDeleteIf you still claim you love your boyfriend as much as you do, then tell your friend you only wanted him to know how you feel and are unwilling to pursue it any further to avoid any more awkwardness between you two.
Let him get on with his wedding and life, and you do same with yours. Sometimes, we don't get to spend the rest of our lives with the people we supposedly love, and we still lead happy and fulfilled lives with others (maybe your boyfriend in this case). For all you know, it might just be a phase for you, and it will pass.
