On the 14th November 2015 Oba Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Okukenu IV, The Alake of Egbaland conferred chieftaincy titles on certain sons and daughters of Egbaland. This was part of commemorating The Alake's 10 years on the throne as well as his 72nd birthday.
One of such titles, The Baajiki Egba (the person whom one must greet on waking up) was conferred upon Adebayo Harold-Sodipo.
As an Egba High Chief he is now expected to safeguard and promote Egba culture and contribute to the economic, social and commercial growth and development of Egbaland.
Some of these titles are hereditary, meaning that the forebears of the present recipient had either held the title or belonged to the chieftaincy group from which the title emanated.
