Model Valeria Prokopenko is shown a footage romping on a bed stripped down to her black panties and bra.
The law graduate claims she made the suggestive video to compete at a beauty show called "Miss Olymp" But it seems unlikely she was expecting it to come out before polling day on October 25.
The 21-year-old is running for the mayor’s seat in the city of Odessa, in south-western Ukraine's Odessa Oblast region. The video starts with her wearing grey leggings and a T-shirt rolling around provocatively. Later, she is seen wearing just pants and a bra.
It is suspected an opponent may have posted it on the internet to damage Valeria's chances of success, but if the video's popularity is anything to go by, it may have had the opposite effect.
Her smouldering looks once drew her to the attention of Russian producers, who wanted her to feature in one of the videos for the pop band Ruki Vverh!.
The video comes as new Canadian Prime Minister sets hearts a flutter as the unofficial "sexiest politician in the world".
