Rivers State Election Tribunal Sacks Speaker, 20 PDP House Of Assembly Lawmakers

The elections petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of the Speaker, Owaji Ibani from Andoni constituency and 20 lawmakers in Rivers State House of Assembly.

The lawmakers were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party on April 11 2015 in an election marred by vote rigging and violence.

It would be recalled that governor of Rivers, Nyesom Wike, was sacked on Saturday by a tribunal under the same circumstances.

Despite the sack of the lawmakers, PDP still has a majority in the house.

There are 32 state lawmakers in Rivers state with the election of 21 members nullified. The state assembly will no longer form a quorum.

  13. There would be a re-run. Mr. President, we want the vote of the people to count under your administration. Please don't encourage power grabbing due to Federal influence. Kindly do better than Jonathan did in a good and credible electoral process. We will be watching.

  15. Impunity cannot stand the test of time!

It should have been all the members of the House since the governorship election was nullified all over the State. The elections were held side by side with that of the Governor simultaneously under the same faulted circumstances. So there is no justification to validate any of the members' election since there was actually no voting.

They built on false foundations. And now their buildings are crashing down; crumbling like a pack of cards!

    Ghanaman signing out!!!

  22. Stella, why na wah oo? Shey you people were here jubilating and calling for the head of Diezani and all the other southern politicians that Buhari has been witch-hunting? Now, have you seen their motives? To destroy the SS and SE politicians and political structure, in order to intimidate them to join the APC which is clearly a northern party. Southerners have sold themselves to the north due to their dis-unity, gullibility and stupidity. You people are easily deceived. Its only you people that believe in the scam called One Nigeria, so y'all should get ready to remain slaves to almajiris for a long time to come.

    1. My dear I feel you. I am Kalabari from Rivers and my family and friends are so pissed. We will vote for PDP over and over again not because they are better but we hate what APC represents and hate that they want us to submit to Yoruba and Hausa people in our own states. They manipulated the the election during the presidential and are in charge. Leave our small corner for us kwa has become a problem. Shame on the so called southerners that sell their birthright to the uneducated abokis for a morsel of bread. Shame on all of you few Rivers people tagging along this stupid change lie. If you don't see it as power grabbing from the north then you are blind. Northerners have ruled Nigeria from 1960 and enriched the greedy leaders with no progress for this country but are not satisfied.

  24. God knows that is a free and fair election is conducted in this our Rivers State, APC will struggle to win more than 1 LGA. We are waiting to see if Buhari is who he said he is with the re-run.

  27. Islam can never take over Rivers state. Apc we reject. Weave Rivers state alone. Don't wage war on God's children

  28. Stella we the people of rivers state will not submit to apc rulership. We may not necessarily like wike as a person but we rather vote him than vote Dakuku. Apc feel they have sense. They should conduct fresh elections in rivers state and majority of rivers indigenes will vote pdp again. They have made wike very popular in rivers state. The four months he was our governor we saw the good works he did. You all can stay at chat rubbish about him and mock pdp in rivers state. But rivers people will not submit the to apc. Is it with the rubbish apc is doing at the centre? This time around we will vote wike and vote all our pdp law makers back. We will do an election with the whole world watching. And give Wike a mandate that the whole world will know we chose him before. Long live rivers state

    ReplyDelete
  29. We will follow our governor chief Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike till the very end. He has the mandate of majority of the rivers people

  30. Let's see wat happens, but even if apc led judiciary like make them sack every pdp member, pdp ll still still take bck Rivers

  32. My dear, I am not a pdp fan oh, but you need to see the mayhem apc causes in Rivers State its despicable. In Rivers State Apc is like a cult you will see sibling rivalry because of apc and pdp next thing they start killing each other: that to me is not politics. I feel sorry for the electoral officers, I just hope their blood will not be used to pay for some selfish political interest.

  33. Stella are you aware that your blog boo built a monorail from town a place in ph to silver bird junction each pillar cost about 10 billion naira. This project is of no use in Rivers State. It won't help bypass any form of traffic. It's just suspended there like that. We don't want his likes to rule Rivers State. The Dakuku that is campaigning his bill boards have his wife and kids on it. Does he even know what being a governor entails? No be family matter oh. Anyways let the best man win. In my own opinion I want Wike to win so that no faction in this country will think its their right but if it happens that Dakuku wins........ He should do right by the people.

  34. APC can never rule in Rivers State.... El Rufai should stop doing the dirty works of PMB....Why change the tribunal chairman and bribe the new one? Abokis are turning brothers against each other, Amaechi is dancing like a slave him and Judith are. They have ended up in making Wike popular and in the last 4 months Wike has bought over Rivers state, He is building roads not patching roads, Rivers State will become the Garden City again. We know Wike as our Governor! Aboki don't turn Rivers into a war zone like the north because the boys will carry arms again! Any attempt to make my state ungovernable, your homes and state will remain ungovernable too... May the anger of God visit haters of good including that amaechi that slave mentality doesn't want to leave him and Judith, Odili picked you up and brushed you, you stabbed him, now you have gone back to being a boy boy to abokis the way you were to Odili. Stella if you like you post this comments, I know his your angel blaze... if you like use it to eat owo soup and starch, your conscience will judge you. Stop covering the ills of Amaechi... Aunty Gewz dem shouldn't come have a heart attack under my comments! Come to Rivers state then you can understand my anger...the Amaechi Era and Wike Era is glaring for everyone to judge... cooking soup Amaechi removed from government house, how petty can a man be? Small time Judith go vex go UK because she knows her husband is too petty and doesn't listen to anyone...
