A Nigerian Air Force (NAF801) F7-Ni fighter jet returning to the base from a mission crashed on Saturday, killing the pilot.
Air Commodore Dele Alonge, Director of Public Relations, in a statement said the accident was due to bad weather and not Boko Haram attack.
It said the incident occurred at Hong, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State at about 4.23 pm.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal SB Abubakar has set up an investigation panel to unravel the remote and immediate causes of the accident.
The statement added that further details would be communicated in due course.

Again?
DeleteThey should dump all this local death trap called.....rip 2 the dead
What's with the recent increase in Helicopters crashing? All caused by bad weather. God please take control.
DeleteRest in peace brave one. Defender of the defenceless. May God grant your family the fortitude to bear the loss.
ReplyDeleteBad weather? I don't believe it. Well every. government always conceals certain information from the public. The weather in Nigeria isn't so bad to warrant a crash. It's either the rickety plane was faulty (as usual ) or it was shot down. By the way that looks like a helicopter to me. The Nigerian armed forces needs to be revamped! As long as the semi-literate hausa officer who received his service number in his house is high up in the hierarchy, these promising young soldiers will be continually sent to their early Graves via these ancient planes. This just brings that criminal diezani to mind. That money she stole could have been spent on purchasing modern fighter Jets. I weep for this nation.
