Ibori - Soon To Be Released From Prison Releases Statment On The Death Of Alamieyesiegha

Former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, said on Sunday that news of the death of the first civilian governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter (DSP) Alamieyesiegha, hit him like a sledgehammer.
Alamieyesiegha, 63, died on Saturday from a cardiac arrest at a Port Harcourt hospital following an ailment.

Ibori, said that though the man had been ailing for a long time, hunted here and there by forces motivated by crass politics and personal vendetta, the deceased politician had looked as if he would be able to rise above the persecution and allow peace to pervade his life.

Unfortunately, said Ibori in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Tony Eluemunor, “on Saturday 9th October 2015, Chief Alamieyesiegha went the way of all mortals.”
Alamieyesiegha was pardoned by President Goodluck Jonathan following his conviction for graft.

Ibori said: “Alamieyesiegha was my friend, brother, and co-fighter on the Resource Control and fiscal federalism front. We were not just colleagues in the Governors Forum from 1999, in the man I found a boundless and dependable warrior in the battle for the cause of the Niger Delta. He was fearless, forthright, outspoken and dedicated his life to the causes he believed would benefit his people.

“In fact, he was consumed by the cause of the Ijaw people, the degradation of their environment and collective psyche. He was in a hurry to see that the injustice under which they laboured be redressed; and he was ready to bear any pain, pay any price, to see that their day of liberation arrived fast.”

Ibori who is also serving the last few months of his prison sentence in London following his guilty plea and subsequent conviction in a multi-count graft and money laundering case, further said: “Alamieyesiegha became the victim of great hypocrisy masquerading as nationalism and anti-corruption fight.

“Alamieyesigha was lied against, as heaps upon heaps of untruths were piled on him, and national hysteria replaced public discourse whenever the subject was Alamieyesiegha. Otherwise respected newspapers made up stories about how he returned from London. Though the man told his own story that he was put on an aircraft and taken out from London to the Ivory Coast, his story was never investigated to even find out if he was lying. It was unconscionable journalism.

He was plotted against by those who swore they were fighting on the side of good even though they had taken high seats in the devil’s court.
How many people would believe that Alamieyesiegha had only one house? And that is in his village, Amassoma!

“Rest in peace great Ijaw leader. Rest in peace, the Governor General of the Ijaw nation. May God grant your family and the Ijaw people the grace to bear this monumental loss. One day, no matter how long the delay, Alamieyesigha’s real story would be told, the truth about him would be unearthed and the world would know the kind of virulent politics he was victim of.”

The picture that circulated the Internet was photoshopped. Obj framed him up just because atiku wanted to pick him as his vice. That's the truth. Put that picture of him dressed as a woman let's all look closely at it and be the judge. Alams was loved by his people, the way lagosians worship fashola. 5. Final word on this Almeiyeseigha matter..
Have you noticed that most of those who have condemned Alams soul to hell fire can not give you one solid reason for doing so?

Some of them think it is because he "escaped back to Nigeria dressed in female clothes". Some of them say it is because he stole "their" money.

Most of the people from the second school of thought have Northern and South Western sounding names and idolize the following in no particular order: Tinubu, Timipre Sylva, Amaechi, Fashola, ElRufai... feel free to tag on more names.

Alamieyeseigha was found guilty of money laundering charges. He was convicted. He went to jail. He was pardoned.

Obasanjo is still walking free and chooking mouth in national matters. Some of the people whom Alams "stole their money" idolise Obasanjo.

For naija, na the person wen dem catch be tiff.

The Bayelsans on the other hand are in deep mourning. It is not for nothing that DSP is the Governor General of the Ijaw Nation.

Hear one of them, the owners of the dead body and the actual owners of the money Alams stole:

Below is a narrative from a friend - Markdon on DSP's legacies. ...
"In 2000, Yenogoa was just a street with stilt houses on sticks in swamps on either sides of the street with only 2 rat infested motels. Alams turned Yenogoa into a bustling, vibrant, beautiful city; He sand filled the entire city and laid out magnificent dual carriage ways, beautifully tarred.
He established a university, Niger Delta University in which I played a very important role. My association in the UK trained over 100 of its lecturers. We started Niger Delta University from two offices in swamp ridden Yenogoa - with my friend John Buseri, the first Vice Chancellor, holed up in one cramped little office. We used to take river boat to Amasoma to develop the present site of the university before Alams built the beautiful bridge to Amasoma. Today Niger Delta University is one of the more beautifully laid out Universities in Nigeria.
Alams also built the polytechnic, college of education, college of nursing and modern hotels. He laid out the comprehensive network of well tarred streets over the previous swamps of Yenogoa and built bridges connecting numerous islands in the creeks. Alams built schools throughout Ijaw land and health centres and modern River Boat services across the creeks to connect the islands with modern launches. When we first went to Amasoma it was a canoe with outboard engine. The last time I did before the building of the bridge it was in relative luxury in one of the modern launches.
Nationally, he assisted to bring peace to the Niger Delta by negotiating with the militants to bring about Amnesty. For this alone we need to commend him".

For the rest of you hypocritical sympathizers crying louder than the bereaved, no vex. No be una money Amaechi tiff, na my money. Canonize him.

Yes there has been photoshop for a long time and do u think anyone can easily trick the British like that? Look at that picture especially the neck and tell me if that's the neck of a man or if the face matches with the body. If you think so then I give up on your likes on this blog... Ijaw nation has lost a son, a fighter and a great leader. He stole our money not yours? Like Nora said..yenegoa is what it is today because of Alams. He has died now, you people should come and eat his corpse. They should dump him in asorock so APC can do what they deem fit with it. I thought you all said he faked his death?

This governmnet knows he is a threat , hence trying the extradictment. They were the governors fighting for resource control , he was supposed to be Atikus running mate and Obj set him up and Ibori. Forget Nigeria politics , anybody wey carry am for head is just wasting his time. Crime rate was low because miney was flowing in the state. I remember when Rivers state government stopped paying Bayelsans because they wanted them to go back to their state . Alams told Rivers government allow people that want to continue to work in Rivers state, i will personally pay all the Bayelsans their salary. He was paying Bayelsans salary working in Rivers state. Abi na pension, imagine retiring and immediately you are paid your gratuitiy. Pension e no dey owe. Is it scholarahip? People wey relocating to Bayelsa because things dey happen. I am not an advocate for corrupt politician , but at least i know the truth and truth be told this is one man that had his people in mind. Bayelsa will never have another Alams.I am not his relative but i still remember as a student Bursary payments, how it used to help us. How RSUST literally drive Bayelsa lecturers away and Alams took care of them. You can say whatever but Alams did his people well, hence they overlook his stealing. How many of you can say that of your so called Governors.

For those saying Ibori did a lot for his people, he did nothing please. Nigerians are too carried away with politicians laying electricity poles, boreholes and cheap tarred roads. Those things cost nothing compare to the amount stolen. Delta state is suppose to be Dubai of Africa, if money received during oil boom was utilised judiciously.

I put it to. You all that from the creation of Delta State till date Ibori remains the BEST governor, prove me wrong! We Deltans know.i am not saying he is a saint though. 35. Truth of the matter is that in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king. Alams did things for his people which a governor is expected to do. However, there were and have been lots of governors/presidents/politicians that get into office that eat the money, without doing anything for their people.
Is it any surprise that yes Alams chopped but his people love him? Those of you abusing him, go and check if any of your governors have done a tenth of what he did for his people. What he did is to chop but carry his people along with him.
Can you tell me Obasanjo did not chop? or Atiku? Yar Adua? All the governors chop and sadly they do not even bother paying salaries or maintaining their states. What were the federal roads like under Obasanjo? Compare that to Goodlucks time and yet you are all cruising Goodluck's roads and abusing him.
Bayelsan's are in mourning for we loved our Alams. Please with all due respect, leave us to mourn him in peace and face your own governors. Do not take panadol for us okay?

    ReplyDelete
  36. I can now understand why his people supported him the way they did. How many states can boast of salaries being paid on time and also bonuses? If my governor wants to chop but all salaries/bonuses are paid on time, the state is seeing tangible developments, new university, new roads/bridges, bursaries/scholarships are being paid.... I would die for such a governor to remain in power.
As sad as it is, the reality is that all politicians, spend money to come to power and no matter what they say, they have to recoup this money when they get in there. If they recoup their money but do some work, Nigerians are realistic and would not grudge them. However this climate we have were they just empty the coffers and do not even as much as pay salaries? I am sorry but what do they think we are? Animals that can survive on grass? They collect their own salaries and allowances in full and yet insist there is no money for our salaries.
I think there should be a rule that head of governments are the last to get their salaries i.e. if there is not enough money then they do not get their salaries or allowances. They have to make do like they expect the common man to do until there is enough money. This will make them become more prudent with spending their state's money. I particularly like Ben Bruce's suggestion about ministers but I think it should be taken further. All governors, commissioners, presidents, senators, reps, ministers etc, must be made to patronize our government hospitals and send their children to government schools. If this is one of the conditions for serving in government, you will be surprised at how quickly our hospitals are equipped with ct scanners, mri scanners, etc and how many foreign consultants will be employed to train up staff in our hospitals. If they are not allowed to own generators, they will put pressure on the power authority to supply power, if they cannot own boreholes in government residences, we will have decent running water, if they must drive in made in Nigeria cars and travel by road, they will ensure the roads are in a usable condition and are free of armed robbers, they will ensure there are laws for cars to undergo some basic safety checks to ensure people do not die daily due to careless drives brake failure.
If Buhari can do this, I will support him all the way. Spare a thought for the people of Bayelsa state, if what is being reported about their state is true, then he truly was the best governor they had.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Only in Nigeria will such crock happen, mtcheew! And this is how we will sit here and he'll be back in Politics. Gosh, the lack of shame and integrity in some characters of this nation is so alarming.

  43. You are a fucking retard.
What has Yoruba people got to do with Ibori the thief and this post.
Your jealousy and envy of the Yoruba tribe will eat you rotten and eventually kill you.
Your hatred for yourselves will never make you achieve anything tangible till you die.
That is why you and your people keep going backwards and never progress.

  45. Borrow culture people then leave Yoruba land alone, stop borrowing their culture, speaking their language, dating and marrying their people and go back to your village or move to your biafra. You have already shown yourself as full of hate and jealousy, out of all the tribes in Nigeria you are the only tribe full of problems.

  46. The feeling is over mutual so develop your states and villages so that you can all pack out of Yorubaland. We have all seen the pictures of your disgusting dirty states which is why you all cannot live there and try to claim other peoples land. Go and develop your states and stop being hateful towards others. The truth is very bitter for you but there for all to see....
