  11. His screening session made the entire process seem like a joke. The senate is just acting out a script.
Amaechi wasn't asked a lot pertinent questions- the few asked were stylishly avoided.
How can an opposition party not ask a single question in a screening as serious and controversial as this ?
They should just hurry the hell up. It's not like the screening will make a difference. ......

    1. Am sure you wouldn't say this if you lost your father due to lack of funds for hospital as civil servants weren't paid for months since the governor was using state money to support APC agenda. And now this same governor is being forced to represent this same state as our minister even after the senators representing the people of the state are arguing against it. Our silence is not for lack of words.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Why am I not surprised. That's the problem with Nigeria. There's no rule of law and those employed to uphold it, don't have the guts and moral authority to do so, and stand for what is right, fair and justified in their decision making.

I was more than impress with James. Me think senate under Saraki did well with the way they handled the screening, important questions was asked. My only problem with them is giving their fellow senators "Bow and Go" pass without proper screening, they should change the law. @Aya Williams, you can say that again. There's hope for us at least we are able to see the nominees explain reasons they deserve the portfolio unlike in the past that "BOW and Go" was like senate symbol. I also enjoyed Mr Heineken and Baba headmaster/Prof.

  60. Screened yes but not yet confirmed. There is still the ritual of confirmation where the senate president will put the question up for the senators before hitting the gavel to affirm majority decision. I think he will be confirmed though.

  61. Stella, he has not been confirmed a minister. He has just been screened. Please note the difference.

  69. He came well prepared n d PDP senators chickened out. Sen Sekibo who has been waiting to grill his state nominee couldn't even say a thing bcos PDP lost senators knew they weren't going to make any impact. Ameachi is very courageous, all u haters of Ameachi should chill n make him work as The minister of Niger Delta ministry. I jst hope he doesn't clash with Wike. Nigerians hate it when their 'enemy' is favoured. D betrayal u guys make noise about isn't actually betrayal,he felt uncomfortable with PDP n left. Only northern senators asked him ques except for Senator Ashafa. I guess his presence wt d ragalia shut everybody up. I only pray he finishes d east west road as promised.

It's just by that place you turn to the other lane if you are going to Edjeba from the lane coming from warri. You will thank me later because they have nice things there.
