Gosh!
Discharge with Offensive Odour during Pregnancy
Good day
May God bless you for your good works.
I am a faithful SDK visitor but not a faithful commenter.
Please help me post this on your Doctors in the house sector.
I got married 2013 and had my son ending of that year, during my pregnancy, I observed that I normally have discharge which I know is normal. All through that pregnancy period, the discharge is normal and odourless.
Now, I am pregnant again and in my second trimester; since when I was in my first trimester I observed that my discharge has an offensive odour; I have complained to my doctor and he told me its normal.
I also discussed with a pregnant fellow, she told me its normal but since I didn't experience this during my first pregnancy, I am not comfortable with it at all. Infact, at times I have to change my undies like three time a day.
And let me add that, that side itches me too.
Please Doctor in the house/fellow women, it is normal to have discharge with offensive odour during pregnancy and itching too.
Thank you
Lord heal dis woman o
ReplyDeleteFrom what exactly?
DeletePoster pls dat u didn't experience it d 1st time doesn't mean there's a problem. Every child comes with their own wahala. That being said, pls note that medication 4 a pregnant woman is avery sensitive so if ur Dr says go home n rest I advice u do so. Bt if it gets worse try 1 or 2 oda reliable gynaecologists u knw.
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
DeleteI can perceive it from here.
God please, give some people sense!!!
DeleteI'm pregnant now and noticed d same thing. But i ran extensive tests(blood, urine). Nothing..just E-coli found in my urine but no symptoms. Odour is not a symptom of E-coli. Sha i was given anti biotics for d UTI. I just finished my dosage 3days ago. My discharge is back. But no odour yet. Ecoli gone. Just go run some tests

ReplyDeleteHowz that supposed to help her
DeleteAny doctor who told you discharge with odour is normal is not a good doctor. Odourless discharge is normal for pregnant woman but when it become smelling is definitely cause by infection and it can blind the baby, its dangerous madam pls change your hospital before its late. You can go to Island maternity, they have best of service there. Take to this advice pls dont blind your baby.
ReplyDeleteI had ds issue during my second pregnancy and it wasnt an easy experience, was a big relief when I put to bed in august. Always use panty liner(not does with obvious wool), den ensure u shave n get an antifungal cream like skineal. Hope ds helps cos it did 4 me.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing normal in having discharge with offensive odour. Maybe you need to see another doctor cos, if you have an infection and it's not treated, your baby is at risk. Don't self medicate in your condition.
ReplyDeleteWhat doctors can't treat, they tell u it's normal
ReplyDeleteChange ur doctor....get a 2nd opinion!
Doctors over to you! But you can try another gynae
DeleteMy dear it's not normal
ReplyDeleteIt normal to have pregnancy discharge, but offensive smell and itching too is not normal at all.
Go to another hospital and go for lab test.
Doctors are fund of telling pregnant women "it's normal, it's normal, every pregnancy is different etc"
Gbagaun!!!!
Delete"FOND"

"At least" Goddess of Dawn.

DeleteIt's normal madam, it happened to me too during my pregnancy and ever since have put to birth it has stopped. My first time to comment.
ReplyDeleteSmelly n itchy vagina is normal in pregnancy? OMG.....which kind doc una dey see? Madam Mbok run to another clinics pls! Nonsense
DeleteIs infection babes, Go for a test
ReplyDeleteMadam u have infection...go meet ur Doctor.Same thng happened to me and my Doc. prescribed drugs for me and hubby the itching stoped.pls go see ur Doc.
ReplyDeleteIts not normal aunty
ReplyDeleteIt is not normal, the discharge is normally more an usual but it should not make u change ur undies three times nd it should not have a smell. It's likely an infection nd naturally during pregnancy one is very prone to infection, u need to see an obstetrician who should take high vaginal swab nd send to a lab. Then they can determine if it is infectious or not. There are drugs u can use to get rid of d offensive smells. Don't get yourself worked up but u need to act fast. It doesnt mean ur DH is cheating ma. It could just b as a result of a little oversight from u ma, but in the meantime try to improve on your personal hygiene more than ever. Pls act fast to prevent further complications.
ReplyDeletei had same issue and complained to my Doc.drugs was prescribed for me n hubby.pls see ur Doctor.
ReplyDeletePls madam this isnt normal especially when its accompanied with itching. i think you have an nfection which isnt too good in pregnancy. Pls ma'am see another doctor. I always advice for a second opinion in any diagnosis due to a bad experience i had.It is well with you.
ReplyDeleteHmmm
ReplyDeleteIt's normal because there is no any serious drugs xat will be given to you at dis tgm.just be neat days all
ReplyDeleteDear Faithful SDK Visitor,
ReplyDeleteIn most cases, vaginal discharge is a normal part of a woman's reproductive system. Fluid from glands inside the vagina and cervix carries away dead cells and bacteria. This keeps the vagina clean and helps prevent infection. This I believe you know already.
The smell and amount of discharge can vary from woman to woman, and the normal colour can range from clear to a milky whitish at different times during the menstrual cycle.
There may be more discharge if you are ovulating, breastfeeding, or sexually aroused. The smell may be different if you are pregnant.
If the colour, smell, or consistency seems different to normal, or if there is also itching or burning, seek medical advice as this could indicate an infection or other problem.
Gbam!
Dokita don talk'am, see another Dokita
DeleteGo see a doctor, having a discharge that itches is not good o, even our normal vaginal discharge doesn't itch. I hope you haven't contracted a toilet disease or an infection from hubby.... #justsaying.
ReplyDeleteChange your doctor to a gynaecological specialist.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing normal about smelly discharge and itching.
Your GP is probably careful about prescribing drugs for you.
When did itchy discharge become normal?
ReplyDeleteIt is not normal it is an infection common in pregnancy and you will be given safe antibiotics for it by your doctor.
ReplyDeleteDon't go and take any Google prescription and harm your child please see your Gynecologist not chemist or midwife or fake doctor
I hope its not an infection, I had discharge but it was odourless though it was my first pregnancy. Tell your doctor that you want to run some test to be sure
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm. !
ReplyDeleteSeriously.! ! !
Smelly discharge all shades of wrong.
Go run a test (Chai have forgotten the name.!)
Please Micro Biologist help out.
Vaginal discharge could be normal. During pregnancy, but there is nothing normal when it comes with. Strong odour and itching. I advice you go get checked for yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis..Goodluck.
ReplyDeleteHope your husband is faithful to you cos you can't keep on treating your self while he is busy playing C Ronaldo outside. Get ur self tested cos its not normal especially the itchy part.
ReplyDeleteI know abt discharge during pregnancy but the odour being offensive is kinda strange,I hope u get d help u need.
ReplyDeleteChange your doctor, its obviously an infection
ReplyDeleteIt is well, go and see a good doctor.
ReplyDeleteMadam u av an infection
ReplyDeleteSame happened to me wen I was pregnant wid my daughter, lots of creamy discharge, itching(mine didn't smell).that time I could scratch for Africa (it was my first time of having an infection). Treated it twice but it refused to go,was always having false labour
In short my baby's water had dried,my child suffered from inflammation. Had to use antibiotics
So woman go to a better hospital, it isn't normal, u need treatment. The lord will heal u ijn amen
i am not a doc but any discharge dat is itchy and smelly is a sign of infectn.for u to change undies like 3x means it's fluid like. methink u have candida or vaginimus(not sure of spelling).go and see a real doc.biko
ReplyDeleteThere is nothin normal about it... Pregnant women r usually prone to infections. It could b candida or syphillis... Go to a good gynecologist to gv u treatment....
ReplyDeleteSyphilis kwa...lol. its not dat serious nau..lolz. syphilis na heavy disease
DeleteGo and see a doctor if possible go for a swab test(hope I got it right) get urself treated before delivery....wishing you a safe delivery...
ReplyDeleteNow the discharges are not normal since it has an offensive odour.During pregnancy, there is increase in the level discharges.Infact in some women it is much but having an offensive odour is abnormal. The itching u experience also shows sometin is wrong somewhere.I will advise u to go for a High Vaginal Swab (HVS) and Urine Analysis. These two will show u if there is any infection. And pls do not go on self medications.Make sure u take ur bath at list 2wice a day and change ur undies.Doing those investigations will tell u what to do next.Nevertheless, just have in mind that u will not recieve a complete treatment until u deliver 'cos of the babys safety.
ReplyDeleteMy dear it only normal when it not smelling. It happen during my pregnancy. Go do a test dear
ReplyDeleteGo and see a doctor if possible go for a swab test(hope I got it right) get urself treated before delivery....wishing you a safe delivery...
ReplyDeleteU have an infection my dear!
ReplyDeleteAm not. Doctor but discharge with foul smell is bad
Especcially during pregnancy
Go run some test and treat it fast before iit affect ur baby
As infection during pregnancy is dangerous to the unborn child
So I learned
Poster you have an infection...
ReplyDeleteHaving a discharge during pregnancy is normal but with an offensive odour is not normal biko...
Nna mehn, that your doctor is a quack!...
Its well poster...try and visit another gynaecologist
ReplyDeleteA healthy discharge during pregnancy is clear and odourless. That your type is not normal, change your hospital before its too late
ReplyDeleteThe life of Aldorable Fashion and beauty blog
Tell ur husband to treat himself....hope he hasn't given u a dose of sti...meanwhile it's not normal at all...any1 that tells u smelly n itchy hole is normal is a caveman/woman.
ReplyDeleteI had the same experience in my first pregnancy, didn't even know I was pregnant, with strong itching and I was busy treating infection after the treatment d odour was still there till the following month when I missed my period went for pregnancy test and discover I was 4 months gone I birth my baby and she was very healthy.
ReplyDeletePoint to note, as you are treating yourself change your panties throw all the ones you use presently.
ReplyDeleteOf course @MISS TRUTH. It is either her or her DH is cheating, Nigerian married women cheat a lot this days, but MOST likely her DH because most men find their wives unattractive when pregnant. How can you be changing pants 3 times a day, have smelly discharge and itching and not know one of you is cheating? The truth is bitter but must be told.
ReplyDeleteShut up eeediot. Aunty know know. I have same problem and haven't slept with DH since i got preggers. If you don't know what to say. .... just fuck yourself.
DeleteIs nt normal biko.
ReplyDeleteDear poster, in fact you just brought my problem here. My Doc gave me canosten cream and tab( I only inserted the tab in my vjayjay twice cos i was uncomfortable with it. I was meant to do it 6times) that relieved the itches but didnt stop the discharge. The cream relives the itching when it comes.
ReplyDeleteYou have an infection and it's nothing to be scared of. AND PLEASE NOT ALL INFECTIONS ARE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED!!!
ReplyDeleteWould have recommended some stuff for you but you're pregnant so you need a proper gynecologist to tell you exactly what type of infection it is. Ask your doctor if diluted Apple Cider Vinegar is okay to drink during pregnancy, otherwise you can wash your vagina with it like twice a day.
Please do a test so that you are sure it doesn't affect your baby. And all these doctors telling you it's normal, I hope no one dismisses them like this when they have real issues.
Not normal especially with the itchy ish... go to another hospital n run some test okay...
ReplyDelete...hohohohoho
Hello doctors in the house. I desperately need help here.
ReplyDeleteIm getting married soon so I went for some test before the church takes me for there's. Please be patient with my detailed story
My period came on the 2nd of August and I had s*x on the 10th of August, 30th of same month my flow came again (according to my calculation it is normal). Bcos of the church test, I did blood PT on the 16th of Sept, it showed positive, but a urine test showed negative. I went for a Trans vagina scan on the 22 of September this is the findings
1) posterofundal-intramural insignificant fibroid seedling
2) significant thickened endometrial plate measuring 10.7mm
DD: Endometrial hyperplasia
Haematometra
3) complex right ovarian cysts mass 5.32cm X 4.41cm
4) sonographic features of acute PID.
(although the doctor said he did not see any sign of pregnancy)
On the 25th I went for blood PT again it showed faintly positive (repeat in 2weeks).
On the 26th of same month (3 days after the scan) my period came. It was due on the 27th but it came 26th.
On the 29th I went for another PT blood test it was still positive. But all this while home urine test is negative. I even went to my company clinic the doctor checked me and performed a urine test and said I'm not pregnant. I was placed on antibiotics (Diflucan 150mg, flagentyl 2g, and zinnat 500mg twice daily) I took dem religiously.
On the 2nd of October I went to the same consultant for a repeat of the Trans vagina scan.
Here is the findings
1) Normal size empty uterus
Endometrial plate is 0.39cm
2) No detectable crisis
3) Right simple ovarian cystic mass 4.26cm X 3.61cm
PID cannot be excluded
I went for another PT test on the 10th of this month it is still positive but urine negative.
My next period is due on the 26th of this month.
I just went for Beta hcg test but the result is not out.
I am confused, am I pregnant or not?.
Why is the blood showing positive, urine still negative and scan no pregnancy...
Please I need help from all the doctors here. Please how do I get the hcg out of my system.
Thank you
You r not pregnant yet. The scan would have seen it. I have a right simple ovarian cyst 40mm as well. But doc says it's nothing to worry about. The blood test might be detecting something but not baby
DeleteU are pregnant, blood test early pregnancy than urine test
DeleteIt is infection,go to another hospital, some doctors ar funny,
ReplyDelete@ Poster. Discharge with offensive odour during pregnancy is not normal. if you are not satisfied with the doctor you are seeing, then seek the counsel of another. Or you can request for a HVS (high vaginal swab) to be done. THat way, you can isolate the organism causing the infection and get specific drugs sensitive to it.Make sure though the sample is collected appropriately (with you in delivery position, sperculum put in and sample taking from right i there), else you'd get error readings. Now pregnant women are more at risk for trush infections which may have prompted the decision of your current doctor. But like i said, if you aint satisfied, request the test yourself.
ReplyDelete@ anon 19.33
ReplyDeletecurrently, You are not pregnant. You just have a pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) which your doctor did well to address with the antibiotics.
Some times, PID presents with a positive PT. but an Ultrasound is confirmatory. Because an ultrasound is like a camera. it caputures what it sees.if there is nothing it captures nothing. you get right?
So ensure you treat the PID because that is a major cause of infertility in women as it blocks the tubes thus the oga can not meet the eggs.
so deal with that firstly eh...
anon 18:38 you already sent me yours which i was about to post tomorrow but body no gree let you rest and you came to post it inside another persons own and i dont think u will get any much responses.just so you know sha i wont be posting it again.
