Nigeria’s top comedian and creative media guru, Uche Ogbuagu's plans to expand his business tentacles into the broadcasting business has finally made a headway, whereby making him the first Nigerian artiste to own a radio station.
According to sources, this rib-cracker is currently at the verge of opening an ultra-modern and full-fledged commercial studio complex in his country home of Akabor-Imo state for radio broadcast.
The source described his business foresight as one worthy of emulation for other prospective entertainers in the showbiz industry, “especially those of them that wish to hold fame for long.”
“Ogbuagu has shown the way for other entertainers to learn from. Unlike lavishing his wealth on luxurious lifestyle, or even going for one of the latest and trending cars in the world, but he chooses to invest wisely.
For Uche, this singular action has shown how good he can think. As a reputable and commercial business outfit, it will be employing labour while creating environment for human capacity development through job creation. Besides, it’s an investment made here in Nigeria, and Akabor to be precise, which will even attract economic opportunities to the area,”.
Uche a talented rib-cracker and graduate of Mass Communication, scored to multiplatinum earlier this year with his last released album, Ka O Puo sold out in millions....
Interestingly, the radio house is named: My Radio FM and has been duly and fully licensed by Nigeria Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) for full commercial FM radio broadcasting service with the frequency number, 100.9. There are whisper that the station will stand for social justice, hot news and quality entertainment.
“This is the only radio station in Southeast Nigeria with Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba, Efik, Pidgin and English belts for balanced information dissemination. With the kind of team and management this station is coming with, I can tell you, this is what radio should be,” another source enthuses.
Congrats Uche
