Appeal Court Adjourns Judgement On Saraki’s Case Indefinitely

The appeal by Senate President, Bukola Saraki against the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), to try him over alleged false declaration of assets, was on Monday, adjourned indefinitely by the Appeal Court, sitting in Abuja.

Recall that Saraki is challenging the legal propriety of the 13-count criminal charge the Federal Government preferred against him before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT.
He had also gone before the appellate court to query the constitutionality of the warrant of arrest earlier issued against him by chairman of the CCT, Justice Danladi Umar.

Besides, the embattled Senate President, through his team of lawyers led by a former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr. J.B. Daudu, SAN, wanted the higher court to ascertain whether the Justice Umar-led panel subscribed to the appropriate legal procedure when it ordered him to mount the dock and enter his plea to the charge despite preliminary objections against his trial.

  5. Politics! This is obviously a give and take matter: he delivers Buhari's nominated ministers, the case against him terminated!and after clearing half d ministers, his case is suddenly postponed indefinitely.lol!
....no wonder d trick abt d ministerial screening done in bits, all so Saraki will see if the FG will keep to their words abt him.
Well I also predict Amaechi will be cleared successfully cos it's part of d deal.

    1. There u go my dear. But in all honesty, I don't see how Saraki would have been able to disqualify any of Buhati's nominees even if his case was still to go on. Saraki doesn't have the autonomy of stalling the process without a unanimous verdict from the entire senate. What would have been his reason constitutionally, say if he didn't screen them because of his own case? Nigerians would have asked questions u know. Gone are the days when they would do things and get away with it without giving the nation a reason for their actions. Not unless there's a flaw that makes the process politically incorrect, the ministers would have been confirmed anyway. And Saraki would still have to face his charges.

  8. In this political clime, everything looks same.
Take a look at the line up in the last 6 months:
    EFCC is probing Saraki's wife
    !
    Saraki is probing EfCC Chairman
    !!
Code of Conduct Chairman is probing Saraki
    !!!
Then EFCC is probing Code of Conduct Tribunal Chairman
    !!!!
Now, Code of Conduct Tribunal Chairman shunned EFCC Invitation.
    !!!!!
Saraki shunned Code of Conduct Tribunal Summon.
    !!!!!!
And Code of Conduct Tribunal issues Arrest Warrant against Saraki.
    !!!!!!!
Then maybe finally the EFCC has gone silent on Code of Conduct Tribunal Chairman
    !!!!!!!!
No he didn't. And even Saraki appears too. Then goes to Appellate Court to challenge The CCT Chairman's Arrest Warrant.
    !!!!!!!!!
Appeal Court adjourns judgement on Saraki's case indefinitely.

It's a vicious circle people. Let's face our immediate needs and leave these people to their game of DECEPTIVE POLITICS.
Dem be Oga. And Oga na Master.

You hit the nail on the head.

They will just wait for some news worthy event that will shake the nation and then quietly announce that his case has been dismissed or closed.
