The Presidency and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday engaged in war of words over President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption crusade following the grilling of former Akwa Ibom State Governor and Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
The opposition party while describing the anti-graft war as selective and a sham, said President Buhari is a dictator and urged him, if he is sincere, to go after former All Progressives Congress, APC governors, who had petitions against them for alleged corruption.
EFCC INTERROGATION OF APKPABIO
In a quick counter, the presidency declared that the PDP is a party that needs pity because it has run out of ideas.
Go after former APC Govs, PDP tells Buhari
Taking a swipe at the APC-led government’s alleged persecution of Akpabio, the national leadership of the PDP said that the move is politically designed to weaken the PDP ahead of 2019 presidential election.
According to PDP, rather than allow the EFCC to go after former APC former governors who have been petitioned, they were being compensated with ministerial positions.
Addressing Journalists yesterday, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh said President Buhari is still a dictator and his anti-corruption crusade is a sham, hypocritical and double standard.
Metuh said: “The PDP therefore states categorically that the orchestrated investigation of Senator Akpabio is politically motivated and targeted at weakening the PDP for 2019 elections, by virtue of his being the face of opposition in the National Assembly. It is also part of the fight by the Presidency to weaken the legislature as an arm of government and prevent it from effectively carrying out its constitutional role of checks and balances in a democracy.”
Reacting to the allegations, the Presidency said that the defeated PDP is a party to be pitied because the opposition party has run out of ideas.
Speaking to Vanguard, Special Adviser to the president on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said that PDP is a broken record that should be discarded.

What's the big deal , it's just an interrogation .
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm
DeleteNigeria is full of drama.
He's a dictator becos he's trying to recover stolen funds??? Some of the people who issue these statements actually need to be executed. Simple. It is wrong to steal the people's money!!!! Wrong!!!! I DO NOT CARE WHAT YOU DID FOR THE STATE while u wre in office...it's your fucking job! And does not give u ANY right to loot. Anyone who steals public funds must be charged to court! And we all know that is the MO of the PDP. Steal! Steal! Steal!!! Good morning stella...how are you today?
ReplyDeleteAno 07:13 is your state finer than uyo? you foolish idiot, go to uyo and see what this man did , for me he is the best governor in Nigeria, always wished he was the governor of my own dead apc state
DeleteThis man if anything happens to him , Buhari and his cohorts and family are really going to suffer, Akpabio is a very good man, helped alot of poor people, transformed uyo,why aren't they picking up apc governors that stole money and never worked in their states? Why haven't they picked Tinubu up?
DeleteSo what are you saying anonymous?...so all the people in Buhari's party are saints including Amaechi that looted Rivers blind to support him during campaign...
DeleteBuhari should first of all discard all those thieves around him before we start taking him serious...
Anon 7.13 , don't mind them..truth hurts
DeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it strange that it is only people from the south south that Buhari is only pursuing in this false war on corruption?
Don't mind the gworo teeth mallam, the thunder that will strike him one day is still doing press up
DeleteExactly...
DeleteLol @gworo teeth. Onye kwarapshun
DeleteBy the time he finishes with all the goats they will know its not child's play
ReplyDeleteI cant fault what they have said as I also think that some of these APC governors should be picked up. My problem with PDP is thatvtgey dont talk like intelligent people; engaging in beer parlour arguments.
ReplyDeleteThe against corruption must start from somewhere and considering that PDPhas been in power for 16 years, abeg na who EFCCgo first interrogate?
What are they saying? Isn't Saraki under interrogation and he's APC? What about Ameachi? And a host of others. Why is it that when a PDP member is involved is when it becomes unfair? Na wa o
DeleteCorruption has seriously taken over this country. Baba God na your hand we dey!
ReplyDeleteMay God Bless Nigeria!

Like we don't know Linda bought that house from Jonathan's largesse during the campaign.
We can as well say the house was bought from our commonwealth.
Stell's got her share too, (Stell's no argue this one o lol) but you don't see her showing off under the guise of motivation. Instead, she's quietly giving back without rubbing it in the faces of people that were stolen from.

Hihihihihihohohohohohohahahahahaha........loyal bloggers oshi
DeleteBad belle indeed! Mumu comot from here! Rubbish!
DeleteIt's so obvious nah. He is very vindictive. If truly he's fighting corruption,Amaechi wouldn't have been in that list cos he's being accused by his state for embezzlement.
